I walked into Dr. Cheng's Orange office (she also works in Arcadia) with severe muscle aches and pains. In addition to some ongoing problems, I also threw my back out while attempting to perform acrobatic feats on the monkey bars for my 19-month old. I haven't tried some of that stuff since 1986. Do you think my kid would even look at me with awe and amazement? No. But apparently it was good for a few giggles, especially when I started writhing in pain. That's where Dr. Cheng comes in. Was treated by Dr. Cheng in Torrance while she was subbing for my regular Acupuncturist who was out on maternity leave. Although I was a bit worried and cautious about being treated by someone unfamiliar with my various medical conditions and the treatments of, I was instantly pleasantly surprised that she was genuinely concerned about my health issues and listened carefully about my concerns plus she put me at ease right away with her sweet and kind demeanor. And as my regular Acupuncturist had mentioned previously to me, Dr. Cheng 's handling of inserting and manipulating needles into various points in the body to relieve pain or for therapeutic purposes were above par - in other words - it doesn't HURT!!! Her movements are quick and swift (but GENTLE!) and before you know it, she's finished inserting the needles! AND to my astonishment, immediately after she puts in only a few needles, I could feel my whole body just relax! It feels like I'm in a zen-like state and promptly fall asleep. And when I wake up, feel totally refreshed! Just amazing! But of course she's good - because she's also an acupuncture instructor at a nearby school! I first went to Dr. Cheng after injuring my shoulder from basketball. Prior to the visit, I had my doubts about Chinese medicine but my friend encouraged me to give it a try. I thought I was going to have needles all over my body just like in the movies. The first visit definitely changed my view of Chinese medicine! Dr. Cheng is very friendly and easy to talk to. Dr. Cheng is the Best of the best!!! At first I was really scared of getting my neck adjusted, but her gentle touch gave away my migraines in a quick snap!! I also suffer from a lower back injury, I would feel pain and tingling sensations in around the area. She helps relives that pain by adjusting the lower part of my spine and have me do certain stretches. I also get acupuncture treatment from her as well. Dr. Cheng is a life saver. I have chronic back pain, and various pain in other areas. For example, once I sprained my ankel, and I couldn't walk for a day. I went to her office in Arcadia, and an hour later, I could walk again like nothing had happened. My back pain is more problematic, it flares up if I am not careful with my posture. Some times it gets so bad that the doctor says my left and right half along the spine is tilted, with one leg seeming longer than the other one. Dr. Cheng uses a combination of chiropractice and accupunture for the treatment, and it helps me treamendously.
