I've been going to Dr. Kang for acupuncture treatment for almost a year now. I initially started going for anxiety treatment, and have mainly been receiving acupuncture for abdominal and digestive problems the past few months. Dr. Kang is a wonderful acupuncturist. He is very kind and funny, and has a great bedside manner. He asks at the beginning of every session how my digestive issues are doing, and gives me an opportunity to mention other areas I might like to use acupuncture to treat. The treatment itself has also helped a lot. I have noticed a considerable difference in the bloating and pain in my abdomen upon application of the needles. My anxiety has also remarkably improved. I think this is from a combination of things, but the process of treatment itself (lying in a quiet room with mood lighting and soothing music) is a great stress reliever and an opportunity to slow down and truly be in the moment. I had acupuncture done for the first time by Justin. I was pretty nervous cause needles scare me, but holy cow! I'm a believe now! The needles DO NOT hurt. I felt so relaxed and rejuvenated after my session. I went in to treat a migraine head ache and learned that there is sooo much more acupuncture can do for me. Justin was very nice, explained the process, and made me feel very comfortable. I will definitely be back. For my session Justin looked over my paper work and talked me about my symptoms. I then but on a hospital gown (leave your pants and undergarments on). Justin put about 12 needs in my back of neck area and let me rest for about 15 mins. Then those needles were removed and he placed 1 in my hand and 2 in my foot, and 1 in my forehead and again let me rest for 15 mins under a warning lamp. I was practicing pull up with jumping but I messed up my finger. As I try to ignore this problem, the problem got worse and worse, the finger swelled up like a balloon. I was hesitant to take an x-ray and went to Justin Kang for acupuncture. Within couple of days my finger color became normal, and my finger swelling has gone. First thing that was said to me upon entering was "Weight loss is not covered by insurance." Well, nice to meet you, too. After that initial greeting, the advice I was given during my consultation was, "You know the key to weight loss is to eat less." Really? Then the next advice was to go to a day spa or jacuzzi to flush out extra water. Hmmmmm not sure I could afford a spa or jacuzzi on top of paying for the cost of each session that I was just quoted.
