Shortly after the tour I sent him a WhatsApp message asking again what the name of that recommended spot was, then made my way there. I didn't ask a whole lot of Huguette at lunchtime and, since I didn't focus on fresh seafood I possibly didn't get the best of their offerings. Drinks, French Onion Soup, and Fish & Chips were all that I sampled in this casual bistro and though perfectly fine, this meal was easily forgettable if not for the huge, apron-clad polar bear out front welcoming guests to Huguette. Nothing about my experience here would dissuade me from returning for more drinks and - because it appears a specialty - some fresh oysters. On the flip side though, nothing I sampled would cause me to run right back. From what I tried, it was difficult to understand why my guide had recommended Huguette at all. Good enough, but I do imagine there's better meals to be enjoyed in the area.

Bright lime green banquet seats and sealife murals are the decor. I went with one of my Paris favorites, moules. Mussels. A kettle full steeped in white wine, butter and herbs. Served with frites (French fries). Delicious. But these were probably the smallest I have ever been served. Looking around- the fresh oysters and seafood tower looked phenomenal. Fish and chips were plentiful. The daily special of shrimp scampi and frites made me a bit jealous. The service exceptional. And as always in France, you can leisurely enjoy you food and wine for a couple of hours. Savor the meal. Bon appetite.

It's run by nice and friendly people. While it's close to famous tourist spots, the place itself is not touristy at all. There are four tables (2 seats each) and 3-4 seats facing to the wall. When I visited, there were two types oysters (one with two sizes, another with five sizes). They're happy to show you actual oysters which number represents which size. I got some combination and they were all fresh and tasty! In addition to oysters, they also have prawns, octopus, and seasonal sea urchin.

It's about 15 minutes walk from L'Atlas, but we got to walk past Notre Dame cathedral , which is under heavy reconstruction. Poget & De Whitte is located on ile Saint Louis, just east of the cathedral on a small road that leads north to pont Louis-Philippe. The road wasn't too busy and the sun (around 1pm) seems to favor the area. It's a small place with 4-5 tables on one side and a high table with barstools on the other. We ate outside (two 2-person tables outside in front of the restaurant). There's also a parklet with additional tables (5 more 2-person tables) along the street. We sat down and the waitress greeted us with menus. One in English and French. We ordered their special No.2 Utah (6 pieces), organic Madagascar shrimp (6 pieces), and scallop terrines. We shared a glass of floral white wine. The meat in these Normandy oysters is wonderfully fat and juicy. Slightly salty finish but that's to be expected. A little lemon helps to balance the finish. Lovely creamy sweat white meat. If we hade not already eaten 12 oysters at L'Atlas, we certainly would have ordered a dozen of these beautiful Utah Beach specials. Prawns were terrific! Sweet meat and had slight firmness to them. I am actually slightly allergic to shrimp but these were so good that I had two. Scallop Tarrines with toast was good and to be honest, our first experience. It created a very nice balance to the overall meal. The floral wine paired nicely with our meal too. Nice level of foot traffic as we ate - not too much or not too little. A person was entertaining at the bridge with his spring instrument, which added to the overall ambiance. Total cost was about 61 euros. Well worth it and I would go there again!

White wines by the glass whatever the barman or bar woman recommends plus a couple of dozen oysters and a tapas or two. Celebratory every time! I have also popped in on many occasions and just stood at the bar. Always interesting to see what others are choosing. People whom I would otherwise never speak to are often quite open to giving a recommendation. This is a great place to stop by for a meal or a snack, open continuously from noon to 11pm, 7/7.
