The most delicious shrimp and oysters I've ever eaten.
    Craig S.

I'm a New Englander and I know raw bar. I know raw bar as well as anyone, and I can tell you beyond a reasonable doubt the raw bar at Huiterie Regis is world class. 10 tables, there's foie gras and other stuff on the menu but you go for their oysters. Huiterie means "oyster house " in French. They don't serve with cocktail sauce, no mignonette, just this Bouteville vinegar that is incredible. It's top is a dropper and a drop is all you need. The service was mediocre, the waiters were just a little stupid tbh, but the oyster and shrimp quality was par excellence. It's a local joint, not touristy whatsoever, and it's very cool. Get a bottle of white wine and the biggest platter you can afford! Bon Appetite!

I read about Huitrerie Regis on a list of best oyster places in Paris, and it was extremely close to our hotel. So we gave it a shot. It is not an assuming place - in fact we wandered around the same intersection for a good 10 minutes before we figured out we were almost right on top of it. It's a small restaurant so go during off times to try to ensure you don't have to wait. As it was, we were seated immediately by the couple of young men working in the restaurant. It wasn't fancy but it sure was delicious. -I got the foie gras because I cannot help myself in France. It was delicious as always. -We got oysters and added on half a dozen jumbo prawns. The oysters were a variety ... they had four in stock when we went so we just got three of each and had a merry good time. They were all absolutely delicious and shucked well. Some of the best oysters we've had in a long time. The shrimp were good but honestly the oysters were the rock star. We only were there for a small meal before heading over to the Eiffel Tower so that's all we had. But we did tremendously enjoy it. They had a small but good wine selection too, and the staff was extremely kind and knowledgeable. I wish we had enough time to return for another meal. But if you like to crush some oysters and you're over in St. Germain, check this little spot out!

The best Oysters and Shrimp! We have been wanting to try Huitrerie Regis for our last couple of trips to Paris, but there was always a line for this very intimate restaurant. Recently, the owners sold it to a couple of younger gentlemen, and the only thing they changed was that they now take reservations! We ordered the Cabane x 2: 24 oysters (four different kinds and eight large head-on shrimp) -- all outstanding. A couple of glasses of Chinon and we were set. The discovery for us was the vinegar. Spectacular with oysters. So good I went to the Grand Epeceire at the Bon Marche and picked up a couple of bottles. Nice, friendly service, and never rushed -- the French way!

It's not often that I take advice from a YouTube channel called "Les Frenchies," featuring a woman who sports striped sailor sweaters and a sensible haircut, but in this case I did, and I think I've been very wrong about the Frenchies thus far. Because in this case, THEY KNEW THEIR STUFF. I loathe oysters with the heat of 10,000 suns, so I had the paté. It was just fine - tasty, and served with plenty of little toast points. But the paté isn't the point of this place. The point is the oysters, and they are divine. My husband had a dozen of their second-least-expensive oysters and he pronounced them amazing - splendid - SUPERB. They are beyond fresh, served on a proper platter with a tall base, and come with a wonderful bottle of vinegar that's aged in cognac casks. He was warned to use only a drop or two, or it will "kill the taste of the oysters." I don't know about that, but I do know that I tried a drop, and I have never tasted anything like it. It was OMG so good. The oysters come with bread - a basket of sturdy slices of what I think was sourdough rye. He had a glass of Bourgogne Aligoté (white), which was eye-wateringly expensive but very, very good. I had a glass of pinot noir, also of very high quality. The restaurant is very small - maybe 10 tables, including the 3 outside - and looks clean and fresh and chic. We sat outside in the warm sun and fresh breeze and had a delightful dining experience. Wait staff are sweet. No one rushes you. It isn't a touristy joint AT ALL, which is lovely to experience in Paris. My only warning is that if you are a larger person, perch carefully upon the chairs. I thought mine was going to collapse at one point. But it didn't. :-) And the oysters were superb.

You just arrived in Paris after a delayed flight. It's too late for lunch, and really too early for a proper dinner. It's time for some of the best oysters available anywhere in the World. Period. The only difference between being here and the shores of Brittany is a handful of hours. Outside of a nice little Duck foie gras and grilled bread to start (what better way to start eating in Paris can there be). We ordered dozens of the oysters they had available. Even when eating oysters on the coast where they are caught in the US, I've never had ones like this. Some of it is the freshness, and some is being shucked by a guy who has shucked so many thousands it's second nature. There was so much crisp brine still in the shells, I ended up dumping some of the water to balance out the salt and oysters. They were just magnificent. They had a perfect wine list. We went with a nice Muscadet because you just never see that wine around enough. It worked perfectly. This is a tiny place with no more than 5-6 tables packed into a small space. Still, it didn't feel crowded. The only disappointment was that Urchin wasn't available.

    Oyster and prawns.

Small place but the food was oysters were a tase of the sea and their vinegar sauce balanced the saltiness.

We had heard great things about this place and tried to go one evening but they had already closed... Its small - really small. So best to try and go at off hours - unfortunately the first time around we were too late. But persistence paid off, we came the next night and voila! A table for two! Had gotten some intel on the smoked scallops - a small appetizer but delicious! Several different types of oysters to choose from - so after a run down from our waiter - we chose. They were delicious! Briny and plump as well as sweet. Very delicious! We also ordered a half dozen prawns. Really hard to find head on prawns here in the US - at least in the northeast... they were fabulous! Excellent wines as well. Expensive but definitely the best oysters we had in Paris.

Featured on the essential 38 EaterS' list for Paris, Huitrerie Régis is definitely legit! The restaurant is tiny but can seat about 20+ people at max capacity, elbow to elbow. The menu features the most in season raw or chilled seafood, including the yummy local oysters, clams, shrimps and the wonderful cockles. Note that there are no hot food option - everything we ordered were as fresh as you can expect. Thank you Eater for the recommendation!

Can't wait to come back to Paris for this...we did a walk-in on a Tues in November ~12:30pm and got a table inside. The assistant/server from Aix en Provence was very helpful and his English is very good. The welks with the mayonnaise sauce were a great starter dish. The speciales no.3 were so fresh, the meat so plump, and the amount of liquor in the shell was amazing. Perfectly shucked with no shell pieces. This place reminds us of the seaside restaurants serving oysters in Cancale.

This was my first meal in Paris! Fresh and staff are so friendly and helpful! I really enjoyed my time here!

This restaurant was recommended to us by friends. It's a very small place so reservations are highly recommended. The oysters they're famous for were pretty good, but again nothing special. We got the seafood platter that came with 3 types of oysters, clams, and shrimp. The clams were terrible and made me miss the raw cherry clams I used to have in Boston. These were very fishy and tiny. The shrimp were okay but nothing special. I've had way better shrimp, including spot prawns in CA. The oysters were pretty good- big in size and fresh but again, nothing really special. The oysters we had in Normandy were much better and less expensive. I feel also that this place has become a tourist trap as everyone in the restaurant was speaking English. If you really want to eat oysters in Paris then this is probably the place to go but it's expensive for what you get and nothing special if you've had good oysters before.

    Oysters in their shucking bar.

Stopped in for lunch last week. I know I keep saying this with my French reviews, but this place is tiny...maybe 16 seats. There is no kitchen, only a small shucking area and some wine. The menu is very simple. The vibe is extremely quiet... they could use to play a little music. We ordered a dozen belon oysters and a dozen prawns. The quality of the oysters was extremely high...I've never consumed oysters as "oystery" (if that makes sense to you) as this place. The prawns were also very good. They were expense though...59 euros for the dozen. Ultimately, we left without ordering anything else.

    24 oysters! So good!

Paris definitely does not have a craft beer culture. This is a real shame because there are many wonderful beers produced in France. But you would be hard pressed to find 95% of them in bars in Paris, even bars known for having good beer. One of your only options is going to Cave a Bulles and buying individual bottles of French beer. If Simon is not busy, you can easily chat with him for an hour about beer. He will help you choose a good variety of beers to bring home, ones that you are probably not going to find in the US. His English is excellent. I showed up 15-20 minutes before closing, and I wish I had gone in sooner. Simon loves what he does and it's evident. My 2 biggest regrets were not bringing him a bottle from back home and not having a checked bag to bring the loads of Cantillon (that I wish I had bought) back to where I was staying in Nice. La Cave a Bulles will certainly be a staple for me whenever I visit Paris.
