We came here after coming back from Hawaii two days ago. We were pleasantly surprised…read more The BBQ short ribs were tender and juicy. The flavor was salty and sweet. The ones we had in Hawaii had a spicy kick at the end. These were comparably good. One flavor all around. No spicy after kick. The Kalua Pork and Cabbage was spicier than what we had at Hawaii. It actually tasted better. They added ginger and it was spicy. I liked the Taiwanese cabbage better than what we had in Hawaii, which was regular cabbage. The ribeye steak ramen was good as well. It makes me want to try the rib eye entree. I like the black pepper flavor. I took the steak out as soon as it served, so it would not cook anymore in the broth. I was impressed that they made it medium rare. The chicken broth was not too salty, which it can be in other places, so I was pleased that it wasn't. The menma bamboo was crunchy. Many places have it too soft. The black seaweed/wood ear like topping was also crunchy. The wavy ramen noodles were perfectly QQ or all dente. There were two doors to open at the entrance. Handicap accessible. No steps. Two gender neutral restrooms. Spacious. Handicap accessible. We found street parking right out front. We came at 7 PM on a Monday after the dinner rush. Our server was very attentive. He also answered all my questions. I asked it they were Pulehu Ribs. When he did not know, he went to ask his colleague. I would come back for the same dishes, get a bigger order of the short ribs, and try the garlic shrimp. Definitely a new staple for us. Before going to Hawaii, we never had Hawaiian food before. This was a good way to revisit our vacation!

I've been coming to this location for quite some time, and hadn't been in a while and was in the…read morearea. I'm so happy I stopped back in. I ordered the Akamaru Modern Ramen, the BBQ short rib plate, and the mango shaved ice everything was absolutely delicious. The short ribs were incredibly tender and flavorful, paired perfectly with rice and their macaroni salad, which is surprisingly SO good because I normally don't even like macaroni salad from restaurants. The ramen was rich, comforting, and full of flavor as always. The mango shaved ice was refreshing and came topped with popping mango pearls and mochi, which made it even better. The ambiance is nice bright and decorative. Clean. The service is always great, and Jimmy always remembers me and is so welcoming every time I come in. The ladies in the front are pleasant and everyone teams up to ensure you have a pleasant dining experience. Everybody I've brought here ends up loving this place too. My total was about $55, and since I paid cash, I even got a little discount, which was a nice bonus. Definitely one of my favorite spots! If you go, I hope you enjoy it like I do.

Worth reconsidering this place…read more We just reached out to place a large order because we love the food so much. We frequently order from here but wanted to try something new. When we called in to confirm that the Udon noodles do NOT have egg (as we have a child with an egg allergy), the woman taking our order curtly said "I threw out the box, it's white, you have to look for yourself." When we mentioned we do not know the brand to look, she replied "me neither, I threw out the box." Needless to say - the food is great, but honestly, the family owned business officially sucks. There's a way to respond to things and that just isn't it. Especially as someone taking orders. So thank you for ending this streak for us. The crap service made it easy to make this place a 1 star.

The mango was definitely top tier! Churro was also a favorite. I was a little disappointed with the guava cream, a little light in flavor for my taste but still good. I like that you can customize the donut to an extent, able to choose the outer dusting for your donut. I wish I went full glutton and tried more flavors!! $2 and some change not bad for a non-basic donut. I've been to other trendy donut spots that horribly overcharge! Some seating outside, parking was plenty. Cashier was patient and cheery.

I did not get the chance to meet Jay, but the girl at the counter was very friendly and understanding when I said I want a breakfast sandwich and I don't want to have to try and pronounce it . So this sandwich is ... really friggen good. Creamy scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon, scallion, and a hash brown on a Malasada with sriracha aioli and a sweet cream drizzle. This was absolutely the creamiest breakfast sandwich I've ever had. The texture of the eggs was awesome, and the bacon being chopped up throughout was really nice because it was far easier to eat than having to chew through full slices and break them up. The sriracha adds a really pleasant dimension and flavor and the Malasada was a nice change of pace, no matter how much I love a fresh Kaiser roll. I'll definitely be back to try the sweet Malasada's and the burger they're doing for lunch now but I will say for now that Aloha Jay's absolutely - Didn't Suck!
