I was having some electric issues on starting my 92 f250. The place I normally go to said if it's an electrical issue other than the alternator or battery they would send me to Smith Auto Electric. So I got to thinking why pay my repair shop to do the preliminary diagnostics and then have to go somewhere else. So I looked up both Yakima Battery Auto Electric and Smith Auto Electric on line. This is why I chose Yakima Battery Auto Electric. Is just incase my truck wouldn't jump start which it did thankfully. Yakima battery would come to me. They also didn't charge for the alternator and battery check. At first i was told about $250 and alternator needs replacement but i guess they checked it again and it was good. So later that day get a call said it's done and $51.00 is the bill. The alternator didn't need replacing. I'm so happy that this place doesn't just go off the initial diagnosis they did. I chose to buy my battery from yakima battery because of a recomendation. I went inside and a employee came from the garage. He did not greet me so, I said hi I need to buy a battery for my car. He asked what kind of car I had. I told him and he said ok pull your car in the garage. I pulled in got out and waited by my car for a several minuites. Another employee was working on a truck next to my car. I wasnt sure who was going to be helping me or what I should do...stand there and wait or go back to the lobby or sit in my car?? He came back and asked me to pop my hood. I did but didnt pull hard enough so it didnt pop. He asked me if I even knew where it was. I thought he was rude for saying that but I just told him yes and I pulled it again and it poped open. He pulled out my battery and set it on the floor, walked back in the the store was gone several more minuites. He came back with a battery got a phone call and answered it (personal call) talked on the phone the whole time he installed my battery while I stood beside my car. He got off the phone and i asked him what the warrenty was on the battery he told me and then closed my hood. In the past when I have replaced batterys they test the old one before installing the new one and they go over battery options and prices with you instead of just choosing for you without giving you an option! I dont know if this was the only one they carried for my car but there was no communication on what I was buying and what I would pay at the register. He told me to come inside any pay. I walked in and met him at the counter he rang me up and it came to $78. I was fine with the price but still disapointed in his over all customer service. I paid and he stapled my reciepts togther and handed it to me, then he walked away to the next customer with out saying a word. A little customer service would go along way for this place, I will NOT be going back. read more

I've always went to Yakima battery and have always referred people to Yakima battery. My last two times at Yakima battery have not been as professional as I've learned to expect from Yakima battery. I sent a battery back with my daughter and whoever helped her took the new battery gave her a second which is a used battery And never instructed her to come back to get the new battery replaced. I was also given a bad motorcycle battery which they were glad enough to exchange but in my opinion they should've tested it before they gave it to me and saved me a trip. I spoke to someone there and they were very kind and said they would take care of the person that tried to cheat my daughter. I still go to Yakima battery and I still recommend them hopefully they have taken care of the people who were not doing right by their employers or to there costumers. So even though I've said all I said, which is true, I do still recommend Yakima battery service. For the most part they are good honest people who do a good job read more
