The type of place where you're bound to find something you don't need but have to have. Great date option. North town coffee near by.

It's in this place for a long time, but never had a chance to stop in until recently. This is now…read moreone of my favorite thrift stores! While here, I got a nice history lesson about the place. All profits go to support the Union Gospel Mission and as it were, it's the old Union Gospel Mission that was then transitioned into a store when they outgrew the space. It flows like the bottom level of the hotel, and now we know why! The selection of stuff is pretty vast, ranging from kitchen items, clothing, plenty of trinkets and a pretty good vinyl section. As with most thrift stores there's plenty of stuff that probably won't go with your current house, but while in there I was able to find a good number of things that did actually go with ours. Of all the thrift stores in the area that I've been in, I really felt like this one was the nicest, knowing that everything goes towards a good cause probably meant I bought a few more things. This place is an absolute must check out for anyone who likes going searching for something you didn't know you needed!

The prices are really affordable. This place has everything. The place has multiple rooms. It's…read morehard to just walk in here and just look and leave without picking up a few things. The funds help support the Union Gospel Mission. The place is run by both paid and volunteers. There is a small drop off to the right of the door as you walk in. I think anything larger you need to set a time and day

When me and my friend walked in she kept following us around and she asked "what are you shopping…read morefor" and I kindly said oh we are just looking around we aren't sure what we want yet and she started asking questions and I was answering them kindly and I made a joke saying oh if I buy this do I get a discount and she got very very rude after that she started yelling " ok you can leave now" and I was so confused what I did I had no idea me being nice and kind to her and EVEN complementing her shop she would be so disrespectful like that so me and my friend came another day we asked " oh are you the same lady from last time because if you are im not sure what I did but I'm sorry I was gonna buy something and it was just very rude how u reacted and she responded with " yeah you can leave now " and I was like you don't even know me and for you to act like that it's very disrespectful and she was like "oh is that a threat" and I said no no it's not at all i was just trying to be nice but obviously you have your own problems so if anyone decides to go to this shop please think again and turn around

I went there yesterday to check the place out. The store is close to where I live and I had never…read morebeen there. I went in. Nice cozy feel with clothing and great home decor items. Prices are not too bad, either. The store associate asked what I was shopping for and I told her I was not shopping for anything particular. I saw a pink linen jacket and wanted to try it on. She said it would not fit me. Karen alert (bonus: blonde bleached hair). I said ok and kept browsing. She then started her Karen assault! She asked if we were new in town, where we were from, where we lived, where my accent was from. Geez! Slow down lady! I politely answered her questions, and once she was 'convinced' we lived up to her 'customer' expectations (whatever those expectations are!), she became friendly. No, thank you, and bye. See you never. On my way home I thought if I were some other guy with limited English and communication skills, she would have probably thrown me to the lions ! Nice store, horrible customer service. Hard pass. Not recommended.

Churchill's Booklovers' Haunt - A curious place to visit!

Love this little place, lots of history and such a sweet owner. Only suggestion is to ease up a bit…read moreon the incense in the store. I feel like it might chase customers off if they were sensitive to fragrances. Tons of different categories of books used, rare and comics.

Churchill's Booklovers Haunt is just the kind of place I love and my kids get annoyed about. I get…read moreit. When I'm set loose into a good bookstore, I tend to wander. And wander I did in Churchill's, through shelf after shelf of fiction, non fiction, vintage titles. I eventually left with a paperback I'd never heard of, a first edition of one of my old favorites, and a cool 1980 comic book that just struck my fancy. But more than the things I bought, what I really found in the meandering shelves of this little bookshop was the sense that there could be some treasure waiting for me around the next corner. In this little space filled with books of all kinds, Churchill's captures the feeling of discovery that all good bookstores have and online bookstores just can't replicate. My kids weren't with me this time, but I could hear them as I wrapped up my visit to Churchill's bookshop. "Come ON Dad, let's goooo already." I had to smile. I can always tell it's a great bookstore when I can hear my kids telling me I've spent too long wandering its shelves.
