Run as far away from this place as you can. The front desk and scheduling is a joke and so are the "doctors". Almost all of the "doctors" aren't in fact doctors though they pass themselves off as them. The vast majority of them are PA's that don't have a clue as to WTF they are talking about. Recently I was in the hospital for a week with an infection.I had one of my specialist doctors come in one day becaus he was visiting patients on the floor and noticed I was in one of the rooms so he came into visit. This doctor is a very well known and respected doctor not just in Yakima but in the entire country in his specific field of medicine and he had some pretty negative things to say about Yakima G.I. He literally told me that he wouldn't take his dog to this place because they are so incompetent. He told me that if I wanted good GI care then to go to Virginia Mason as they have some of the best GI doctors in th country there. I wish I could give this place zero stars, or maybe negative stars, but that's not an option. My beef is not with the office staff or the nurse I saw, but rather with Dr. Thomas Attaway. He was my last attempt to get allopathic help with digestive problems I've been having, following a mystery food or waterborne infection, and he was not only not helpful but was also completely dismissive. Get this: When I was giving him my medical history, he twice interrupted to contradict it. MY medical history that he had no prior knowledge of, he contradicted. "Oh that can't be right", etc. And then when I started to get upset, he was surprised and impatient. He more or less said there wasn't anything he could do for me, but asked me to get on the table so he could poke at my belly. He declared I had a "mass" in my colon that was probably a poo baby (regrettably he did not use that phrase--if he had I might be happier to give him one star). He said that even though I'd had a normal colonoscopy just 2 years prior, I should get one to make sure the "mass" wasn't anything to worry about. SHOCKINGLY (not shockingly), he does colonoscopies and could do it for me early the next week. What are the odds?? I "needed" a colonoscopy, and coincidentally he does those procedures! I was still upset from our conversation and wasn't thinking clearly, so I agreed, but that night I realized that was CRAZY, so the next morning I canceled it. I ended up going to my primary care doctor to have her feel for the "mass" and there was nothing there. To sum up, Dr. Attaway was rude and dismissive and then tried to make money off of me and my insurance company at the expense of my health (the prep for a colonoscopy is grueling and hard on the body). I'm grateful to him for one thing, though: The experience had me completely give up on allopaths and I'm now seeing an acupuncturist who listened without interrupting and whose treatment is improving my digestion. All of the staff was very helpful, friendly and informative. The Doctor I saw was more thorough than any other doctor I have ever seen. He was extremely knowledgeable, explained everything to me and was extremely kind. His nurse was also great. I had to have some blood drawn while I was there and it was the first time in my life where I literally didn't feel a thing! I would highly recommend them to anyone!! read more

referred by my insurance company. I cannot remember the doctor's name. but i will definitely will not be going back to see him. he recognized my gasrtoparesis. and at this point there are a couple of ways to handle this. One, small doses of children's antibiotics. tried it. nothing. then i tried reglan. i have bipolar and it threw me into a massive manic attack for days until my psychiatrist said stop taking it. You are "NOT" to give it to someone who suffers bipolar. I had tried it in seattle, nothing except the aforementioned manic episode. This made it abundantly clear that reglan was not going to work but he insisted on trying the reglan again. I said not going to happen. now after a couple of imaging exams he thought my gallbladder should be removed. Fact is my gall bladder was fine. now there is a space where it used to go. Then, He also put off my eosinophilic gastritus as a bit of scarring of the stomach wall. Makes me think this guy was clueless. Now here is the final part. A pacemaker can be planted near the vagus nerve to stimulate the muscles. pacemaker no. not happen. So one final addendum. I am always very clear to any doctor i see that i smoke marijuana for the pain in my stomach. 15 minutes later no stomach ache. I only smoke once a day during cocktail hour. this guy was not amused. nevermind it is the only thing i have found to reduce my pain. he then talked about a condition that can happen. from smoking pot. I was already up on that one. typically it happens to people who have been smoking it for years multiple times a day. I am hardly in that category. didnt matter. he stuck to his guns. so the end result was test which included irradiated green scrambled eggs. and toast. the test only confirmed the original diagnosis and he had nothing to offer. Then is assistant called me back about two weeks later and fold me the doctor said he would not treat me if i continued taking marijuana. So i told her that unless he had something for the pain it's the only relief i have.what a chickenshit that he couldnt call me himself. good riddance to him. read more

I had a procedure done in October 2013. Had a follow up appointment in November. They called and had to reschedule due to the doctor leaving. Made the appointment for the first week in January. They called the day before and had to cancel this appointment. Rescheduled again for March. Receptionist called again due to an issue with the doctor. Rescheduled again for the first week in April. Got a call today that my appointment was rescheduled again for the following day which I will be out of town .No one can give me answers to why I keep getting rescheduled. Very frustrated. I was told I would be sedated during my colonoscopy. Someone took a sick day because I was going to be sedated and I would need help getting home. I took an hour long nap before they finally got to me, but I wasn't the slightest bit sedated during the procedure. I laid there wide awake, watching the entire thing on the screen while they probed me and cut out tumors. I helped my mom die of colon cancer earlier this year, so this caused some pretty upsetting flashbacks to both that experience, and to being raped. This place wasted my friend's valuable time and traumatized me by not managing my expectations. They also handed me a survey to fill out that started like this: "You most likely will not experience negative outcomes if you fill out this survey." WTF does that mean?? Because I did not know what it meant and I don't like to be threatened, I filled out the survey and lied, to avoid any negative outcomes that might befall me for doing or saying the wrong thing to these people.
