Sad they say they close at 11 but if you go at 10:15 they will not help you, they just look at you and don't want to serve you. I walked in at 10:15 stood in the front of the hostess and she never acknowledge I was there. I asked why she said you can get take out but we are not seating anymore. That was after standing up 10 minutes without anyone saying anything. Call the manager and she said they don't seat anyone after 10:15. read more

Shaking sauce is definitely a crowd pleaser. I wish the crabs were bigger. Lol but over all it's a nice crab joint. Drinks are definitely good. It's a place for take out crab boil feast at home or dine in experience with friends and family. Clean and napkins and wet naps and bibs readily available. I would take the family here as well . I have tried a few seafood restaurants and really came to the conclusion that if you really want great, fresh, flavorful seafood, you've gotta head to the coast. BUT, after dining with shaking crab, I must say that i was very much pleased! I arrived shortly after happy hour was over. The crowd was light. Upon entry, friendly service started at the door! There was no wait time. We were immediately greeted by ROCHELLE! She was amazing! The food was hot, delicious, and so satisfying! I enjoyed it so much, I'll be going back for lunch tomorrow! Very Rude! My mom and I went in the restaurant tonight and stood at the hostess stand waiting to be greeted. There was nothing but silence as they looked at each other until finally my mom said "Well Hello, is it too late to be seated"? Being that it was 10:15 and they close at 11, one of the girls said yea but you can get take out! By this time we were not interested in eating anymore because they have no customer service. Once we got in the car we called to speak to the manager and was put on hold, then the phone hung up after waiting 15 mins. We called back again and the manager seem nonchalant saying that was correct they do stop taking customers before closing but she would speak to them about being rude. read more

My boyfriend and I came here after coming from Florida. We were unable to get seafood while we were down there and were really craving it. Our server, Isiah, was really good! He had a positive personality and was well attentive. The food was amazing! Delicious sea food and reasonably priced for being in the middle of Georgia. Highly recommend!! read more

Great food and service! In reading some of the recent reviews know that you have a choice in seasoning or no seasoning at all. We had crab legs and shrimp (just steamed) with garlic butter on the side. There are several different options. Give it a try, hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as we did! read more

Customer service here is complete GARBAGE!!! Didn't even get a chance to try the food so my review is not based on that. I've heard good things about this place so I'm disappointed I had to get a refund due to the sorry ass workers they call staff. Walked in, three ladies standing at the hostess stand not ONE of them greeted us. We went to the bar to place a to go order. The girl who took our order was nice but the one beside her who was taking phone orders had the nastiest attitude and was on her phone the whole time. The biggest issue here is that after we ordered we sat down on the bench right by the bar where we ordered. Both the girls sat there and gave orders to people picking up while looking in our face as we waited. 45 minutes later I finally get up and ask her how much longer. She turns around and grabs the bags. And I ask if the food had been there the whole times. She says oh I didn't see you sitting there. The girl was nice but she definitely knew we were sitting there. I mean it's right there by the bar I could almost reach out and touch her without moving. I honestly think she just forgot or forgot what we looked like or something. Regardless the food was cold and at that point I was over it. Can't say I will actually attempt to come here again so I can actually try the food. Started off as one of my favorite restaurants in McDonough but my last experience there changed everything. Visited 2/6 with my fiancé and immediately as we walked in the door we noticed that there was no one standing at the host stand so we're looking around trying to figure out where someone was so that we could be seated. **Please note that the restaurant was practically empty because there was only one table occupied and they were seated in the REAR of the establishment**. Moving forward, 5 minutes later we get seated near the front (due to social distancing) and the waitress asks us what we wanted to drink. We both ordered waters but in the process of her bringing us our waters, the hostess comes back to our area and begins to seat a family of about 6-7 in a booth DIRECTLY BEHIND US (keep in mind that the restaurant is practically empty so there is no excuse to not continue practicing social distancing) plus NO ONE in that party had on a mask. When we asked the young lady if we could move tables, she immediately caught an attitude as if we were wrong for asking to move lol whole situation could've been avoided. Not to mention that the booth that we were sitting in had garlic butter grease stains on it. Will not be returning. read more

If I could give this place no stars I would. The customer service is TERRIBLE! Tonight I called to place a to go order and was placed on hold for 20 minutes! I went ahead and sent my boyfriend to the restaurant and what do you know, the place is a ghost town practically and they aren't busy at all! I called back and asked to speak to the manager. Some last name Liz got on the phone and completely disregarded or ignored my complaint regarding their customer service. Considering the fact, one exit up there is a competitor The Juicy Crab with much better customer service. I'm sure this shit hole of a restaurant won't be around long. I tried them out and this was the worst experience! Everyone have different experiences and I'm sharing mine. We didn't eat at the Shaking Crab so I can't say anything about the food. We were seated & waited for 15min & nobody even showed up to our table. No drinks, nothing. We got seated right away bc there were plenty of open tables. The waitress walked right past us to serve the table behind us & then walked right past us to leave the area. The deal breaker was when 2 people were seated right across from us & within 2 minutes that same waitress jumped right on their table. We got up & left. I will NEVER go back. read more

I cannot wait to visit this restaurant again! It was so delicious and the waitress that we had was wonderful! The portions were great and prices very reasonable for seafood. We ordered the Blue Crab and Crab Legs in Garlic Butter and it was delicious! The atmosphere is really nice and they have a wonderful outdoor patio to dine on. We tried the Juicy Crab and we weren't impressed. I am not sure if it was because it was opening night but they were out of many options and we weren't even given the tools to crack the crab legs. Both of these restaurants feature identical menus but I will certainly only be going to the Shaking Crab as we had a wonderful experience!! I love seeing new restaurants in McDonough and especially ones that aren't found on the South Side of Atlanta/common fast-food. read more

My husband and I decided to try out the new spot on a Sunday evening 8/5/18. The waitress took our drink order, my husband and I order two sweet teas with lemon. The waitress returned back and stated they were out of lemons would we like lime instead. The tea was water down, I told her that's ok can I'll have a ginger ale instead, she quickly stated we don't have that. I told her it's listed on the menu, she then replied "oh I didn't know we sale that let me go check and see if we have it". I ask her if she could bring some sweetener for the sweet tea my husband order, she then replied what's that?. I tried to explain to her what the sweetener packages look like she still have a difficult time understanding. I told her don't worry about it. She returned with the Ginger Ale in the class with no ice. My husband asked her if she could please bring a cup of ice back for the drink. She returned with the cup of ice and took our order. When she returned with our order, the calamari was under cook, and my husband had the wrong order. We told her the order was wrong, and the calamari was undercook if she could just take it off our ticket, She left and returned back with the correct order and brought the manager out. The manager stated " the calamari is done we won't take it off we will refry it but we will not take it off the ticket. My stated that's fine. The calamari tasted like eating fried grease and something chewy. Let's say we we're highly disappointed. My shrimp and my husband lobster had no seasoning or taste. It taste like they empty the food in a bag of hot sauce and placed it in a bag.... Horrible. In addition to that, the staff was unprofessional Talking loud about getting off and ready to leave, the waitress did not check on us see if we needed anything. At that point we were ready to GO! When the waitress returned we politely ask for the check, paid and left. I would NOT suggest this restaurant. Save your money!!! read more

Didn't eat there... walked out when I saw black residue in the juice containers at the bar. The bartender opened the plastic container to refill it with juice and I noticed the black residue around the inside of the rim. I looked harder and realized there was black residue all inside the neck of the container. #yuck. Obviously they don't wash them out and just keep adding more juice. I recently called in to place and order for pickup, and was greeted with "Shaking Crab hold for a minute" I was then placed on hold for literally 8 minutes without any other commentary. B'day today and decided for the first time to patronize Shaking Crab. Ordered 3 crab boil dinners. When received orders to go and checked them the crab legs were pencil size. They acted as if they were going to add an additional rack of crab to each order. When we got home and discovered that the crab legs in orders were removed and replaced with a little larger crab rack for each order. I have never been to a restaurant that has done this. If I had known I would have requested a full refund. Very pricey (very small crab legs) so don't waste your time or money. read more

Great surprise. The restaurant is tucked away in a strip center and relatively small with a low seating capacity. Short wait was worth it on a Sunday night. Crab legs were great, shrimp (boiled and fried) were also good, and the coleslaw was worth adding as an extra. You're limited to four levels of 'spiciness' and medium was a little more than medium to me. But I am a lightweight for spicy. Service was great from our waitress but hostesses were a little off-putting with apparently little interest in customer service. Work past that for a very good dining experience. read more
