Maxine is professional and friendly. She goes above and beyond to make sure you are thrilled with the work they do. She always makes you feel very welcome and makes sure she gets things measured and fitted exactly the way you want them. The prices are extremely great. I've taken them some difficult items, but everything is always finished to perfection. You can tell that the people who work here are happy with what they are doing because their work is so professional. The time he took walking me through options, different linens, being patient with my colors of choice and walking me through the process makes it so personalized. He didn't just hand me a suit off the rack and said here we have these options in these sizes, he actually pieced together a suit for me and made it work so well for my wedding. My groomsmen and myself included were beyond happy with our suits, I ended up buying my suit at a great price. I bought my wedding gown at the…read moreFilene's Basement Bridal Sale and Debbie did the rest -- she did my alterations, created a french bustle, created a custom-made veil and helped my mom with her Mother of the Bride ensemble. It took her about 6 weeks to complete the job and it all turned out perfect. The dress needed to be taken in in the front and back -- from size 12 down to 8/10 -- and hemmed. She also did a french bustle and showed my mom and bridesmaid how to pin it properly. She also steamed it and packed it so it was ready to go the day I needed to take it home. The veil Debbie made for me was ivory tulle with some beading and sequins -- she made it by hand and it was beautiful. It looked great with the dress. Not only is Debbie's work excellent, but her prices are affordable. She LOVES doing bridal work and used to do alterations for David's Bridal in Bakersfield. All of her work is through word of mouth, so please call ahead of time and tell her Brooke sent you to her, or she may be hesitant to work with you. She does do other alterations such as uniforms, jeans, etc. but her true passion is bridal. N.B. -- don't judge a book by it's cover. The location may not be ideal, but you will not be disappointed with her work.

I read the reviews she had before going-- but i understand how there is always two sides to a story-- and because she was referred to me, i still gave her a chance. I wanted to post this review because i had such an amazing experience with her and couldn't be more happy with the dress. Sometimes, people are more apt to post a review when something goes wrong, and are less likely to post a review when everything goes right. This is an example where everything went right. I called Debbie last Monday (one week from today) rather frazzled because the place i normally go to said they would be unable to get the dress completed when it needed to be done. Now in their defense i called with a one week turn around request. Debbie assured me she would be able to complete the job given my situation in the time frame i needed. The next day we went in and she was super friendly and professional. She gave me a fair price and i felt comfortable leaving the dress with her. One week later and when received a perfectly altered dress and my daughter and i were extremely happy with the results. My daughter's first response, you can't even tell she fixes it! That is the biggest compliment to the quality of her work because the top half of the dress is covered in sequence and had to be taken in considerably. I will post before and after pictures so you can see her wok! She will definitely be the new person i take all of my alterations too. I would recommend 100% that you do to. Thank

Debbie is a highly skilled seamstress who is attentive to detail, patient, and a perfectionist--qualities perfect for anyone in need of a seamstress. She made my former bridesmaid dress fit me perfectly and shortened it exactly to wear I asked. She altered the flower girl dress to fit my daughter comfortably and was great with my daughter. Beside the owner being rude, she ruined a pair of brand new pants that I asked to be a certain…read morelength. The length is approximately 2 inches shorter than I had requested. I would not recommend this place for any alterations. not only are the pants NOW to short, they also flare out at the hem. Very disappointed with the service and the quality of work.
