I have been suffering from severe neck and spine pain for 15 years of my life with no relief or answers. I must admit that I was a bit apprehensive about trying acupuncture to treat my chronic lower back issue and corresponding drop foot problem, but a recent cruise opened my eyes to its benefits. On a whim and because I had the needed time on my hands, I decided to try acupuncture from a licensed doctor on the ship to see if I could gain some pain relief for my upper and lower back and left foot so that I could tackle the land excursions. My initial episode of backpain was in the 1970's and was treated by a Chiropractor. Getting an adjustment every month helped and I was relatively pain free, able to do whatever I pleased until 2007. I started having back pain and this time had a epidural injection. That helped for about 1 1/2 years when I started having pain hip down to foot, with eventual burning sensation hip to foot and foot numbness. I received 2 epidural injection a week apart, but they did not help. In 2009 I had extensive back surgery involving 3 different levels. After surgery I was doing ok (toe numbness continued) for about 2 years, when back and hip level pain returned/started Next (2011) I tried laser ablation therapy, this helped at first, but I still was limited walking (pain started after about half block) and forget doing something like vacuuming, standing for more than a couple of minutes. So Feb. 2013, Dr. Yang entered the scene. To date I have had 20+ treatments and very slowly walking distance has increased, able to stand and do dishes, and vacuum when I want to. I am now able to enjoy life a lot better. I have had back pain for many years as well as problems in my shoulder, neck, and ankle. I have had the Acupuncture treatments in all of these areas and it works. I have to say that Acupuncture has been the best treatment yet. I don't have to take pain pills everyday and the treatment lasts for me several months. This is better than taking pills every day to relieve pain which can have side effects. I've been seeing Dr Wei Chen for a while for various reasons and felt I needed to leave a review for others in search of a wonderful Chinese Doctor that truly gets results! I've had acupuncture for various reasons by Dr Chen, all with excellent results. One thing I was told by 2 other acupuncturist, was they could never help the pain caused from a car wreck a few years back. After just 2 sessions, I was able to sleep without severe pain waking me, for the first time in years. She is very kind and compassionate, taking time each session to check on your progress and adjusts treatment accordingly. My sciatic pain is much better in first treatment. I had been suffering from pain from the sciatic nerve as well as severe muscle cramps and spasms up and down my left thigh. I was referred to Dr. Yang and was truly amazed that the first treatment of acupuncture and cupping relieved the sciatic pain at least 75%. The second treatment concentrated on my thigh muscle and I am so pleased that the muscle cramping and pain left my body and I am now able to get up from a chair and out of the car with no pain. The third treatment combined the sciatic and thigh distress with the cupping procedure. I will continue to go to Dr. Yang and highly recommend her clinic to anyone suffering with pain. I wanted to write of my appreciation to Dr. Yang and her staff at the Yang Health Center. A friend had suggested acupuncture to help me with a medical condition. I called and had an appointment in less than 48 hrs. Dr. Yang assessed my condition and told me about how acupuncture is a balancing treatment. I tried it nervously, but there was no pain. I ended my treatment after a month or two. Consequently, I began having hip pain. My PCP was wonderful and I had blood drawn and an order for Physical Therapy. When I called PT it would be 2 weeks before I could even get started. Dr. Yang got me in the next day. Following a fall that resulted in a fractured left shoulder, I sought the treatment of Yang Health Center to help resolve residual pain both in my shoulder and and forearm. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Yang as I was desperate to find an answer to my sleeping problems. I found her to be a very caring and professional person. I was surprised how much my general energy level improved after the first appointment and continued to improve through subsequent appointments.
