This time around, we were in the road in Albany and I was looking to buy some body spray for myself and some lotions and whatnot for my kids. Unfortunately, my experience at this location was terrible. Upon entering the store, I was unable to find the body spray I wanted and one of my daughter's had a question about a product. Hoping to get some assistance, I approached one of the employees who was standing near one of the displays. To my dismay, the associate's behavior was unbelievably obnoxious. After saying hi to her, the associate made no effort to respond and didn't even ask what I wanted. She just gave me a disdainful look like I was offending her with my presence. When I explained my issue and requested help in finding the body spray, she rolled her eyes and walked away without providing an explanation as to what she was doing. I thought she was leaving. I returned to browsing and looking for the spray, but after a short while, the associate returned with the item I had been searching for. Obviously that's great. However, her disrespectful behavior continued. I wanted to express my gratitude, so like most adult human beings do, so I said "thanks". However, the associate didn't respond yet again. Instead, she rolled her eyes, as if me speaking to her was some sort of an inconvenience. Again I said "thank you" and she just walked away. I was like, WTF did I just witness?? As a result of this associate's appalling behavior and attitude, I made the decision not to make any purchases and just left the store. Why spend cash at a place where the staff is nasty? Forget about it.

This store is attached to Bath & Body Works and they seem to be owned by the same company. I'm usually someone who looks for candles at Walmart or in the home section of Marshalls, but next time I run out of them I may splurge on one from here. This store had an abundance of decent sized candles for $12.50. The scents were truly amazing and they had such a nice selection too! In addition to candles, they also offer candle holders. I like that they also offer holiday themed candles. Employees were friendly and asked if I needed help. Nice spot to check out if you are a candle fanatic.

Nurseries and gardens help me relive that realisation. We've been to this Hewitt's a number of times, and on this latest visit, made very similar observations. They have as wide a variety of plants, trees, and gardening supplies as other nurseries in the region, but perhaps the plants are not getting as close attention as at some others, Nisky Faddegon's, which I realise is more an exception, not the norm (I've seen plants in worse conditions at Lowe's and Home Depot). It may also be that this is past the peak buying season, but the wilting leaves and perished stalks always manage to tug at my heartstrings. They had just what we were looking for: arbricola green! We grabbed two of the healthier looking. There was a variegated variety which was denser than what we got. Their indoor plant selection is still one of the best around here, and the staff there have always been friendly. I hope the locals continue to support Hewitt's and they stay open for many more decades.
