I stopped in here one evening last week to buy candles for 3 bathrooms in my new home. I walked in about 8:30 pm on a weeknight with three different towel colors for 3 different bathrooms. When I entered, I was the only customer in the store - the two young ladies working both descended on me and after telling them what I was looking to do - they both were like busy worker bees, buzzing around the store and bringing me candles and other suggestions. They were both extremely helpful and I ended up buying several large candles, plus a bunch of smaller tea candles and a number of glass containers for the candles, plus some decorative tops for the larger candles. Yikes. Went to see their new deals we had heard about for buy one, get one 50% off. We arrived and were barely greeted by anyone there. On top of that, they had several boxes of inventory out on the floor that they were loudly clanking through and pushing past people with to stock on the shelves. Finally, an associate (who wore her mask incorrectly and under her nose) came over to us while we were looking at the wood wicker candles. She told us they were buy one, get one 50% off. We thought it was a great deal so we picked up 2 of the large ones she had pointed out. We grabbed a few other items and checked out. The check out girl could not find our account via phone number or email, even though I had my emails from Yankee pulled up from previous orders (so missed out on my rewards). And to top it off, we get home and realize we've been charged full price for both wood wicker candles. We called the store and let them know what happened, and the associate on the phone said they were not the correct size to get the buy one and get one half off. We told her the sign was up on that shelf AND the associate specifically pointed out that shelf to us and she kept her story up. Horrible customer service. Go somewhere else. read more

Whaaaaat a rip off! I ordered large jar Yankee candles from amazon and paid between 12 and 19 dollars per jar. Some would not arrive in time so I ran to Yankee candles Black Friday sale. buy 3 get 3 for free! Wahoooo! No price tags on any items in the store. The cashier rings up my 12 candles and I see they are charging a whopping 29.99 per candle! Typical upcharge and phony sale, reinforces the fact that online shopping may be the better way to go. Disclaimer: I LOVE Yankee Candles. I have never been disappointed when I visit their stores and this location is a perfect example of why that remains the case. Located in the Gateway Shopping Center it is a nice store to visit. It is well organized and they have a great selection of candles, tarts, car freshners, candle accessories and more. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I always have positive encounters with them and it is obvious to me that customer service is there specialty. One of things I love about Yankee Candle is their return policy. If you are not satisfied, they will make it right. I have tested this policy a few times and I have yet to be unsatisfied. There's no surprise why this store has such a high rating. Despite the extremely good discounts that were currently in stock, it was the employee that made all the difference in the world. Ellen (aka "Beautiful") is by far the most amazing and just beautiful person I've ever met in a retail store. I went from having a not so great day to walking out feeling amazing, $116.32 poorer (but with a savings of over $125 discounts) but still amazing. She has such a wonderful soul. From the second I walked in the door with my new infant we immediately became friends obviously because of the little man I was caring but still. LOL! Came in last night because I had a buy one get one coupon and I just moved to the area. So naturally I needed new scents for our new house. Chose clean cotton and one I've never heard before, grapevine & oak. My husband allows my candle addiction as long as I don't buy food scents. LOL! Anyway. There were two wonderful ladies in there and both were extremely helpful and even shared their favorite scents. Well I get to the register and one lady is ringing me up. She asked since I liked the cotton if I had smelled beach holiday. No I hadn't so the other lady brought one over. Omg. It was like clean cotton but softer. Now, I am in LOVE with this candle. I wish this place was more organized. It's hard to look for particular scents, and there's so many of the same scents all over the place. Just too much, you know? The only things I buy here are car fresheners - they're the most organized! One time, I was in a cupcake-scent phase, and bought three cupcake car fresheners. The cashier noticed that as he rang me up, and pulled up a cupcake-scented lotion. I declined, saying I didn't want cupcake-scents on my body. Then he pulled up a cupcake-scented chapstick and insisted that I try it. Wtf? I declined and repeated that I didn't want cupcake on my body. Then he pulled up a cupcake room freshener! That guy just would not stop. So I did and left without buying anything. read more

I'm a Yankee candle freak. I have a scent for every month...seriously. The staff here is always helpful. The candles are somewhat pricey when they are not on sale - but the key is to go in the beginning of January and the beginning of July when the candles are drastically reduced in price for the semi-annual clearance! read more
