Every 5-6 weeks she stops in for a refresh of highlights, lowlights, and a touch up on her gorgeous blonde hair. I have to admit I like it too, no matter that she might come home with a little surprise in hand - there is a boutique in the front that carries really cool stuff. You ladies would really like it. And Renee', my wife's stylist, is spot on every time. Sooo, my wife thought I should join her one time, "maybe you could get a pedicure ", she said. I knew what that meant! I let her make me an appointment with Pam, the nail professional, and joined her in her pampering. And oh boy, was I pampered! Aside from all the Hee-Haw about a guy coming into the shop for something other than a gift, I was indulged with a spectacular foot massage, nail trim, calf rub, and yes...great conversation. Best money I've spent in a long time, and I'm going back for more. Thanks y'all!

Part boutique part hair salon, Charmed is all southern hospitality. It's not located in the King ave shopping hub, so I imagine this lil boutique usually only sees locals. But thanks to Yelp, we stumbled in the doors during our girl's weekend in Charleston. I am so glad we did. This gift boutique has the cutest stuff! My bestie and I each got a few things, but my fave things I purchased are two personalized items, and not because they're great items (though they are), but because of the service I received when making my purchase. Charmed does a lot of personalization. Monograms are literally overflowing in the cash wrap section of the store. And when checking out, a lot caught my eye. I was dying to get a finger tip towel with a pineapple monogram embroidered and a flamingo monogrammed door hanger for my mama for Mother's Day. The trouble with personalized items when ya don't live in town is you're not there to pick them up when they're ready. But Charmed was so accommodating. They made it so I received my mama's flamingo in the mail in time for Mother's Day, and even though the finger tip towel is usually provided by the buyer for monogramming, they were understanding that I didn't have one with me given I was traveling and all, so they included it in the price and got one for me to be personalized. And when they dropped it off in the mail? They called me to tell me it was on its way!! THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE! I may not live in Charleston, but I am a Charmed shopper for life. I will be back every time I am in town, and if you're close by, I highly recommend you stop in. These ladies will treat you right!

I recently moved back to Summerville so I made the trip to North Charleston to get a few items. Overall this is pretty much like any other Hobby Lobby with one exception, which I'll bury somewhere in here if you keep reading. Walking in a week after the doors were unlocked for the general public, the experience is almost exactly similar to all other Hobby Lobby's; the space wide open yet filled with shelves of knick-knacks, art supplies, nostalgic themed items and many other items. The place is very clean and sterile while being well stocked and thoughtfully displayed, playing on the casual shoppers innate impulse shopping with "Oh I might need that one day" mentality. Therein lies my personal weakness as I headed back to the front to grab a cart to load up with items, I really didn't need but I could justify in my mind. I could drag the review out but, it's Hobby Lobby and you know what you're getting. Clean and safe stores with all sorts of items, and generally good employees. But that is one of the flaws of this particular store, the people were slow to respond and weren't well trained as they seemed to be missing a clue or two. While I'm ignorant of the inner workings I'd wager management isn't exactly up to par here. That said for the general public I don't think that would be an issue, just my knit picking. I'll end my review with it's not a bad store and it just needs a little TLC in terms of customer relations. Stop on by and take some time to relax and walk around a little and enjoy life while shopping.
