Honestly, I feel that Appletree Physical Therapy Practice in Burlington is top notch! The…read moretherapists are awesome! All of them are knowledgeable and have been practicing for a long time and work well as a group. I had a complicated shoulder repair ( second surgery, bicep, rotator cuff, 5 anchors etc). 7 weeks after surgery my shoulder froze up. I am a tennis player and I knew this was going to be a long recovery. I researched many therapy groups in the Burlington area and needed to find a good PT and I chose Appletree even though it was a half hour drive to get there. It was 100% worth it! I worked with Dan Curry for my rehab. and he was terrific. At our first meeting, he conducted an intensive intake and really listened to the history of my shoulder issues. He is a medical professional who listens and actually remembers what the problems are and took the surgeons' plan, and followed it yet he also added his own expertise which I found to be very helpful. He and the other therapists know their science and how to balance the passive and active techniqes and gradually introduce the strengthening. Up until my final vist, Dan's care and approach was excellent. All of the therapists there were so good and they have worked with each other for many years. It felt like I was part of their "family" every time I came in. There is a lot of humor. It is a very happy place! Dan's approach was caring and balanced nicely - He massaged the shoulder and used the ultrasound thingy for the first 10 minutes of each session. Then we did the exersizes, and he recorded my progress/ measurements for how high I could reach etc. Next, we did table exercizes and he did the manual stretching which can be painful. He would stretch me further each time, but he was able to "read" my face and knew how far to stretch. Lastly, each session, I had the Tens machine and ice /heat for 15 minutes. Appletree is very busy and from what I observed, they treat athletes and all age groups. I was so impressed with their treatment of the elderly patients and also the playfulness of their style with the younger generation. All of them were interactive with all of the patients and it is clear that they care about the patients and their recovery. They make doing PT fun and that is a pretty high compliment! I highly recommend all of them! Donarae D .N.

I wanted to say goodbye for now, since I don't hope to be injured again anytime soon, but then again, having a reason to go back to see them all again wouldn't be bad. Honestly! I enjoyed every session. Each therapist that I interacted with with friendly, outgoing and caring. They are truly like a large family there and they welcome you in with open arms. I was given great advice and homework for in-between each session that helped speed up my recovery. They were highly recommended to me by several people and now I too would highly recommend Appletree Bay Physical Therapy to anyone and especially Dan!

One therapist stands out above and beyond all the other therapists at Dee's Physical Therapy: Jennifer Choate. Jennifer is professional and her high standards are reflected in every improvement and upgrade my body makes. It is so tempting for me to seek out care only when the pain gets excruciating. "I am busy, the…read moredrive takes too long, it'll get better eventually on its own, I don't have time for exercises"...these were my excuses UNTIL...until the pain got so bad and the movement so restrictive that it was hard to work in any form, even at my desk, and the outdoors that I love felt too daunting to enjoy. I went to Dr. Mike & committed 100% to the process. I made it a priority. I went in on the schedule he suggested and thank goodness for Melinda's follow up and their automated reminders. I did the exercises he provided that were specially curated for me and my pain points. I did them religiously. I started this because I was told by an interventional pain clinic that I was required to try 6 weeks of Chiro, massage, or PT BEFORE I could get a referral to the pain clinic. The medical clinic actually made this a requirement. They told me that often this alternative course of care alone resolves the pain without medical intervention. The climate of healthcare is changing and more and more I am seeing all types of providers work together and understand one another's areas of expertise and ability to positively impact lasting improvement and resolution of symptoms. I am so glad I not only went to Dr. Mike but I listened to his instructions and I followed them and I am well on my way to feeling better. Go, but don't just go, DO! Do the work, do the follow up, make the effort, commit to the process. Lesson learned for me & I am so grateful.

I've seen so many specialists that all ended with the conclusion that my pain wasn't bad enough or not worth doing anything about. Waking up in constant pain and being told there is nothing they can do and wait until it gets worse isn't the best quality of life in my opinion. Essentially, I felt dismissed and ignored and had just about given up and accepted my chronic pain sentence. From my first phone call to the office I spoke to Dr. Micheal Townsend directly, not only improved my outlook that there may actually be people who still care about their patients but who also was confident he could do something to help! I've had a couple visits so far and everything was laid out to me from the beginning and I was able to get answers to questions I've been asking medical doctors for YEARS. I am hopeful that he will be able to greatly improve my quality of life, and get me back to functioning daily without constant pain! I 100% without any hesitation recommend this office for those seeking a doctor and office manager, Melinda, who both go above and beyond their call of duty to help you from making visits more affordable to making sure you are actually improving while keep you educated about the process along the way! They have done an amazing job so far, and I am confident that it will only continue to get better! Thank you Dr. Townsend and Melinda for making me hopeful that I will one day live happier and healthier, with less pain!
