I'm part of a group of 9 girls that make an annual pilgrimage to the Lake every year at this time. We always shop at the Landing. We were looking for a new place for lunch and lo and behold, we found the Yankee Peddlers Tea room. We have no idea how we overlooked it in previous years. Ron was very accomodating in setting up a table for all of us. Unfortunately, one group of us had a flat tire and never made it to lunch. There seemed to be no hard feelings for empty seats at our table. Our server was very fun and accomodating. We all tried a variety of soups and sandwiches and a blackberry cobbler for dessert. I absolutely love this place and it is a must stop for me when I'm in the Osage Beach area. Ron (super cool dude) and the staff have an excellent service demeanor, consistently, and the food is amazing! I always get the "Go Nuts" salad, as it is delectable, the veggie sandwich (also delectable) and this past visit I got the lemon meringue pie that was out of this world. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful and very interesting with lots of wall hangings and items on shelves and counters (and everything is for sale, I think). The Yankee Peddler Tea Room is a quaint luncheon spot at the Lake of the Ozarks. This seems to my filled with mostly women. The interior is Country Kitsch. There are two rooms offering table, booths, and high table seating. I did see a few carry out orders being picked up while we dined. It seems only bagged tea, and no loose tea being offered at Yankee Peddler. It is kind of a pet peeve of mine to have Tea House or Tea Room in your name and not serve loose hot tea. Also no form of High Tea is being offered here. For lunch my order was half of the Go Nuts Salad and Half of a Chicken Salad Sandwich. My companion order Chicken Noodle Soup and Tuna Salad Sandwich. We did hope for a few more bread choices for the sandwiches. The Go Nuts Salad stood out as the best part of the meal. Chips and Homemade Dip are served with the order. The Homemade Dip is very good, their take on a French Onion Dip. The Yankee Peddler Tea Room can be a little hard to find since it is tucked in a shopping plaza. Find it off Old 54 in the Landing Main Street Shopping Village halfway between the New Highway 54 Exits of Nichols Road and Highway KK. read more

Don't pass up this seriously adorable, little tea room. Tucked along with the other shops at the little Yankee Peddlers shops along old 54, this efficiently run little place features freshly homemade soups, salads, sandwiches, quiches, muffins, pies and teas. My group all got the lunch combo which included a choice of 2 of the following: soup, salad, quiche, 1/2 hot or cold sandwich. For $2.25 extra they throw in a piece of pie. Today's choices: lemon meringue or coconut cream. Yum! While you're at it do some shopping for a few odds and ends, knickknacks, candles etc. They have a selection of hot and cold teas to choose from with your meal as well as other beverages. Perhaps my favorite part was the homemade dip that accompanied the chips that came with my salad and sandwich combo. We were stuffed and very satisfied. Don't miss this little gem! read more

But aside from that I've tried just about all they have to offer and it's ALL GOOD! A little quaint and cozy spot surrounded by various shops and tucked away off the hustle and bustle of the Highway! I came here with a few friends. A really nice place, very calm. We were seated immediately and were served with our food quite quickly. I ordered the bowl of the Chicken Taco soup and let me just say it was to die for. It was spicy, yet sweet at the same time. And the melted cheese added a nice kick of flavor to it. A variety of teas to sip while you pick your soup, salad or sandwich or the combination of several. They have great quiche as well. Sandwiches come with chips. We get to The Lake about half-a-dozen times a year, and Yankee Peddlers Tea Room is one of The Lake's better lunch options. I was joking with our server last Saturday that I thought we'd just set a record with four men in the restaurant at the same time. She laughed and agreed. Most of the time I accompany my wife into YPTR, I find myself the only male in the place . . . but that's OK because, at my age, I have no trouble setting aside gender role stereotypes if there's good food to be had. My wife is that diner who finds that one thing on the menu she likes and orders it every time she goes. She had the "nutty" salad and liked it very much . . . again! Me? I like to jump around a menu to see the full range of the chef's talents. There's not much - maybe nothing - that I won't eat or don't like. In the five or six times we've been in, I've ordered sandwiches, salads and soups. The Cobb is fantastic. This last visit I took the the combination that featured a cup of clam chowder, a smaller version of the salad my wife had, and the tuna sandwich. Yum, yum and yum! Everything is homemade and served fresh, and the portions are ample. So . . . ladies, take your husbands to Yankee Peddlers Tea Room. The food is delicious. He'll love it. The portions are manly. We stopped in to one our favorite soup/salad spots at the lake. The website says open until three. It was 2:14 exactly. After waiting at the hostess desk a few moments a server informed us they were closed. I mentioned the website 3:00 closing time and she responded, yea, that's wrong we close at 2:30. We politely said ok. Walking out I looked at my watch 2:15. Umm they are open until 2:30. I guess they don' t need customers. We will never return. read more

We stopped in for a quick lunch while shopping. The tea room is darling. Our hostess was super sweet. Our server on the other hand, not so sweet. We both ordered ricotta quiche w/ minestrone soup and raspberry iced tea. All were very good. The iced tea especially was not to sweet which we loved. Other than our grumpy, elderly server, when we asked for a straw, she went back and grabbed one (unwrapped-yuck!) and stuck it into our glasses. We didn't have to wait and our food came out timely. My family are regular customers and we have enjoyed all of our visits here for years. On our visit today after my 9 year old son used the restroom the door accidentally got locked. A woman there came over and chastised my son for purposely locking the door behind him. She drove him to tears and ruined our lunch. It was an accident.
