Big store with tons of selections…read more I was nervous from pictures that this would be all comic books. I was a little relieved when we pulled up and there was a sign that included toys. We were here on a very specific mission, one son was looking for ghostbusters toys and the other was looking for pokemon cards. One of the employees told us that they get the most calls from people looking for pokemon cards. So I don't bury the lead, they don't have just packs of pokemon cards, but they do have a set that includes multiple packs for $60. We ended up getting that for my older son and I've been giving him a pack every couple of days. I was little nervous about our mission to find ghostbuster stuff. There were tons of star wars stuff and a lot of funko figurines. We did find ghostbuster funko figures, but that wasn't really what we were looking for. Eventually after walking around a bit, we did find three small ghostbuster items. I think they're meant to be kept on a desk, but my son has been playing with them like they're toys. I haven't seen ghostbusters so I'm not going to describe this well, but they are items to track and then trap ghosts. He was ecstatic that we found them, so mission accomplished. If you're looking for comic books then this is heaven. If you're looking for specific toys, it may be hit or miss, but for us it was a hit. This is definitely a place worth checking out.

As a collector who's always on the hunt for nostalgic treasures, Retro Rat in Largo is a goldmine…read morethat delivers pure joy with every visit. This shop is a haven for vintage toys, comics, and video games, offering a massive selection that spans decades and a vibe that feels like stepping into a time capsule. With its incredible inventory, passionate staff, and the option to pop in for a single find during the day, Retro Rat earns a well-deserved five stars. Walking into Retro Rat is like diving into a childhood dream. The shelves are packed with vintage action figures, from '80s Transformers to GI Joe and Star Wars classics, alongside newer collectibles like Funko Pops. The comic section is just as impressive, with everything from Silver Age Superman to modern indie titles, neatly organized for easy browsing. Their video game selection is a standout--retro cartridges for NES and Sega sit alongside PlayStation and Xbox gems, perfect for gamers looking to relive the past. The store even stocks trading cards, vintage tees, and board games, making it a one-stop shop for any pop culture fan. Retro Rat's community vibe sets it apart. They host events like trading card tournaments and retro gaming nights, creating a space where fans connect and share their passions. I don't make it to many of the events since I live across the bridge but The shop's clean and well-organized, with treasures displayed to spark excitement without overwhelming. Prices are fair--vintage figures range from $20 to $200 depending on rarity, comics are competitively priced, and games are often below market value for their condition. It's not a discount bin, but you're paying for quality and curation, and it's worth every penny for the gems you'll find. This place is more than a store; it's a nostalgic adventure. Whether I'm grabbing a single NES cartridge, flipping through X-Men comics, or eyeing a vintage toy to complete my set, Retro Rat delivers. The staff's dedication and the shop's vibrant energy make every visit feel like a hunt for buried treasure. For its unmatched selection, top-tier service, and role as a collector's paradise, Retro Rat gets five stars. It's a must-visit for anyone in Largo who loves toys, comics, or games, and I'll keep coming back for my next big score.

You can easily spend a great amount of time looking and browsing if you are unsure what you are looking for. The store has two sides full of things . Customer service was great. Will return once I'm in the Tampa area again.

My kids love this store. The new location is very nice and spacious. I like that there's a nice…read moreseating area for parents waiting. It is much appreciated. The only downside to this store is that it has a very strong smell of cigarettes. The old store smelled the same too. It's off putting buying something from this store when the cigarette smell is sooo strong. I was really hoping this would not be an issue when they moved stores. The air freshener does not cover up the smell guys. For the sake of your customers, maybe take the smokes outside?

I understand some things are inevitable because of Japanese imported items and shipping costs but some things are sold for x4 their retail price. On the other hand things like the Gachapons are well priced!!! The customer service of this place the second time I went was nice as the lady at the cash register asked if I'd like to open and check what mystery item I got just in case I got a duplicate and wanted to exchange or do something else with it which was pretty nice, I did end up keeping them even though I did get a duplicate but the items I got are ones that I am very happy about :) I did blow an easy around $230 for one bag of items in around 10-15 minutes though so BE CAREFUL don't be like me!! I would save my money to blow on it here later some other day if they had more variety/more unpopular shows because it would be cool to see some merch from shows that aren't mainstreamed

The few prices that I was able to check on what I would normally pay seemed pretty close. If you know your prices, and you know what you want, and you find something that you would normally buy anyway, Ollie's could be a good place to stock up. Otherwise it's just like a jumble sale. Be prepared to be bombarded by Ollie's advertising on the walls and over the PA system.

What a chaotic adventure…read more To be honest I never knew we had an Ollies here in Tampa (region) so i was more than pleased to find one in the area. It seemed like this one was fairly new. If not, big shout out to the team because it was looking clean and new. This Ollies did seem smaller than my Ollies back home in PA (miss you, Mom), but it had most of the same things. I was looking for toilet bowl clear ; specific yes but could not find it at all! Idk if they sell it at all but they do sell cleaning products, just not that so that was a loss. Ollies has a lot of random junk you don't know you need at really reasonable costs. It's like a half step from five below? Maybe? But like definitely not Dollar General, that's for sure. They have house hold items, books, toys, clothes, toiletries and more. My only issue this day was the customers which was not a store issue. Screaming children and when I tell you screaming , i moved to all ends of store and could still hear her. The pipes on that child. Wow. Man yelling at a cashier. It was the Wild West. I ended up getting a graphic novel and a cook book and got myself out of there. I also finally signed up for their rewards program. So it's a win for me.
