Great place! In all honesty, they aren't my favorite bagel place around but they're decent and meet expectations. Where they really excel is their breakfast foods BY FAR! I have such found memories of getting breakfast from here with friends. I do REALLY miss the breakfast burritos. My all time favorite food from this place was the Hashbrown Breakfast Burrito. I won't lie I have gone significantly less since these items were removed. However, every other item, french toast, hashbrown, meat sides, are all good. Yardley Bagel is a friendly little spot for a warm breakfast on a cold winters day. I liked the set of paned glass windows separated by astragal bars for the old Victorian shop look. The inside had a decent amount of table seating in the middle and several booths along the outer walls. The staff was friendly and the menu boards were stacked with lots of familiar breakfast choices. The bagel selection was smaller than a Manhattan bagel, but hit most of the flavors one would be looking for. I ordered a large coffee and a turkey sausage, egg and cheese on a pumpernickel bagel. I was given an order number, told to take a seat anywhere and they'd bring it out. The coffee was self serve, with three choices - donut shop, bold and decaf. Of course I went with the bold and found it to be a decent coffee, but nothing out of this world. It wasn't too long before I was joined at my table by a plated breakfast sandwich and some bagel chips. I asked for hot sauce or buffalo sauce and was given a few hot sauce packets. (If I had any suggestions I'd say to bring on a variety of hot sauce bottles, a house buffalo sauce and ditch the packets.) The bagel was soft and fresh, but it lacked the snappy skin I was hoping for. Points though it was sizable, a bit airy and NOT a chewy mess. The inside consisted of scrambled and folded eggs, melted American cheese and a turkey sausage patty that lacked pepper and bite (hence the need for a solid hot sauce or buffalo sauce). The price was under ten bucks and as a first time visitor was gifted a nice slice of crumb cake. I wouldn't turn down another visit to Yardley Bagel if I was in the area. For reference before reading the rest of this review: Bagels are one of my all-time favorite foods. I tend to be pretty critical in rating a "true" bagel that we greatly appreciate in the Northeast. That being said, I still leave my honest feedback and give every place a try aside from having favorites. I stopped by this place early on a weekday morning when I was in the area. I was very determined to see how this place would like up to my all-time favorite: Bagel Train Yardley. Since I came in early, the morning breakfast rush of people on the go was still happening. What stood out to me was as that there were only two employees working. One was prepping food orders while the other one rang customers and made drinks. While I understand this is a small-owned family business, a bagel shop needs to be well-staffed in the morning. I'm sure they can do fine with even one employee during the quieter times of day, but definitely not in the morning. The two person team was clearly causing a pretty significant buildup of the line as well as waiting time. In terms of setup, this place isn't huge. However, I'd say they make decent use of the space and have a good amount of seating. They also manage to have a few larger drink fridges with many beverage options. Once it was my turn to get my order taken, I decided to give this place a test in true bagel fashion. I ended up opting in for two bagels plain and unsliced. I would then compare them after taking them home to eat and toast. I went for the Pumpkin Spice and Sun-Dried Tomato flavors. It seemed as if the employee ringing up my order was very relieved that it wouldn't involve prep-work, which I don't blame her for. She was clearly working as hard as she could while trying to be friendly to customers. When it came to pricing, I'd say these were on par with average bagel prices nowadays. The two bagels alone came to just over 3 dollars. Once I got home to try the bagels, the first thing I noticed was the size. They're not TINY, but they were smaller than average. To me, there's a very specific medium that bagels need to meet: Be big enough to potentially hold sandwich components, but not bigger than the width of most peoples faces. Aside from the size, what makes a true bagel is its texture. I found that these didn't quite meet the "crunchy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside" description. They were definitely more dense than what I'm used to. Flavor for each bagel was somewhat recognizable, but not very distinctive. I'd say that if I ate either without knowing the flavor, I would likely not be able to describe them clearly. Overall, this place is OK. The flavor variety and menu options are solid. Pricing is also pretty fair. If you're a true bagel connoisseur, there's no reason to forgo Bagel Train to come here. read more

The food is fine, but they almost never prepare my order the way it is requested. I used to call and comment or drive back to the store and demand a sandwich the way it was prepared, but i've gotten to the point where i stopped doing that. The incompetence is comical. Today I ordered a hash brown wrap with sausage, but they forgot the has brown. I'm pretty sure this wrap is $1 more than the rest of the wraps on the menu. If you are ordering to go, make sure you sit down for a couple of minutes and inspect your order because they probably didn't prepare it the way you requested. Came to have breakfast. Ordered a wrap the nice girl at the register asked if I wanted chips and a pickle with my wrap. I said yes. Received my food it did not have chips and a pickle . Brought the wrap back up and said it was supposed to come with chips and a pickle. The lady at the counter brought it back the staff in the kitchen who got visibly annoyed slammed the plate down and gave me basically less than a handful of chips that were all smashed and a pickle that looked like it got ran over. I am sorry to have inconvenienced your staff by asking them for what was originally supposed to be given to me. This is a really nice and quiet breakfast/lunch place. This was my third time here and I was very satisfied with food and just nice service. I did't realize that they were closing and forgot to buy bagels but in the end probably owner or manager was so nice to give me some for free! This little bagel cafe tucked into a shopping complex where most probably come to hit up Rite Aid or Giant for groceries is pretty good! What would be a 3-star experience in NYC (solid, but forgettable) is easily bumped up to 4-stars here in Yardley. Staff was super friendly and patient as we combed through their extensive menu of bagels, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, and even salads Their egg bagel was soft and fluffy and really delicious, well toasted as well. The insides of the sandwich (sausage, egg) was nice but nothing too special. 3-egg omelette was tasty as well, although I found everything a tad undersalted -- no problem as they have all the necessary fixings on the tables. Overall, a breakfast sammie will run you $5 or so and the omelettes $6-8 depending on your toppings. Fun place and fast service! read more

Solid, very solid everything bagel. It was delicious and soft - sadly I had placed my order to go and wanted all three bagels toasted and none of them were. Thankfully the egg, cheese and bacon still hit the spot. I also tried out there super Cinnamon bagel as a last minute impulse buy and instantly regretted it. It was smothered in sugar and cinnamon and really confused my mouth. It wanted to be a doughnut but was it was stuck being a bagel. Regardless, I'm sure kids all over Yardley adore it. The bagel shop is clean and they write the menu on a chalkboard. Breakfast and lunch is served throughout the day. Located in a nicely refurbished shop that previously had been a Chinese restaurant, Yardley Bagel Cafe in the Makefield Shopping Center, is a welcome addition to the area (Yardley is a more toney address, thus the name). A corner space with windows on two sides, it is a comfortable place to bagel up with decent java and settle into a booth with friends or on a metal stool along a wooden shelf anchored to an exposed brick wall to do your daily reading. They really did a very good job creating a welcoming environment. YBC does most everything bagel, with many choices of cream cheese, smoothies and sandwiches to match the multiple choice of well appointed rounders. A look at the bagel bins shows that these folks take pride in their product. They are plump and loaded with toppings so much so that the actual top crust cannot be seen beneath. The generosity is appreciated. The prices are competitive, and perhaps lower than the other bagels outlets in the area. My onion bagel, butter and swiss, with cuppa joe brought me change from my fiver. My breakfast looked great with the layers exposed in cross section and little onion bits falling onto the plate with each lift and bite. While I prefer a crustier skin offset by a light and airy center, rather than the mono-textural bread presented here, the onion flakes were like savory poprocks that compensated a bit for that shortcoming. Yardley Bagel Cafe won't replace Bagel Train (really in Yardley) for my favorite bagel in the area, but it is a cool place when hanging out is part of the experience. Excellent job! read more

Now, I'm not usually one to leave reviews on businesses. I enjoy trying new places, but the Yardley Bagel Cafe was a complete miss for me. I hate to be critical, but the prices absolutely appall me. I love coffee! I believe an important aspect of a Cafe, is having excellent coffee. This place missed the mark horrendously. Typically paying $5.00 for a Cappuccino is acceptable, but not at this place. They charge 4.99 for a "large" "cappuccino" and it was made on one of those coffee machines that you would see at McDonalds. An important aspect is the foam on the cappuccino, it was unpalatable and it did not taste good at all. It's a scam, and nothing more than an inexcusable latte. Not to mention for a large the cup was half empty. The price for such a drink left me astonished especially for the quality. The service was subpar at best and I don't have much to say about the dining room. Just a complete miss here for the coffee. Haven't tried the food but I hope it's worthwhile to make up for half of what the business is supposed to stand for. read more

Came for my first time this morning after hearing some great things and I wasn't let down! Inside is so cute and lots of seating area. They had everything from maple bacon muffins, to jalapeno bagels and chocolate croissants! Perfect stop for breakfast. Not really sure what has happened to this once amazing Cafe! I placed a phone order & advised it would be 20 mins! 20 mins later in go to pick up! Another 40 mins waiting patiently. I observed a lot of people coming in to pick up to be told another 40 mins wait! Some very unhappy customers! Not only was my order wrong! They put egg that I didn't ask for in my my husbands bagel which He does not eat! So that was wasted. Nearly $17 which I didn't mind paying when it was good!
