I hired this company because it was highly rated.and my friend had used them. However, I was deeply disappointed in this company! I have beautiful expensive furniture and antiques- and every piece was damaged. The estimator sent a truck that according to the movers was too small. They called the supervisor, John, who said another truck could NOT be sent. So, the crammed everything in, causing scratches and deep gouges to all my furniture. I have moved this furniture locally and long distance 5 times and never had more than a minor scratch. Don't use this company if you have fine furniture! read more

I had Yarnall move my single family 3200SF Executive Home last May, 2017. I had issues from the start: all the guys (except for one) came with attitude. Not the same people as the Salesman that quotes you the price; he acts SUPER nice to get your business. The movers told me the Salesman 'under-quoted the move', so they are not being paid enough for the work and I should 'consider' giving them a 'large tip' since this was the case. Now, realize they are all in my home, I have to move that day, and they are moving all my expensive family belongings. What do you say to that statement? 'OK' was my reply, try to make the movers happy, right? Then, I learned the initial quote did not take into account the proper insurance to replace broken, damaged or destroyed items, only to pay a few cents 'per pound' of damaged item. SO, I had to pay more yet to guarantee if anything was damaged, broken or destroyed I would be fully reimbursed. OK, another $300. I'm feeling very uncomfortable now and fully extorted. Only to find the Yarnall movers 'lost' 2 Master Bedroom Lamps ($$$), my child's step stool ($), broke a desk ($$) and broke a portion of my Master Bed frame ($$$). To which the owner told me, I was required to 'prove' I had them, because his moving crew 'told him nothing was left on the truck'. So, we had to engage in arguing, for months, about how to get proper payment for the losses incurred. In the end, the owner decided to pay us our $300 back for the insurance and told us to 'F^&K OFF'. Now, I don't know about anyone else, but moving is already very difficult. But, having people like this move you...is a disaster you do not need. I would not recommend these guys to move a plant, much less a house with personal, expensive and irreplaceable belongings. Lastly, it's worth mentioning, I even told the owner if he did not make my family whole and properly abide by our written contract, I would post my horrible experience on-line so others could be warned. To that he told me, 'I could care less'. So, here - I kept my word to help others. I hope this review does exactly that. read more

BE CAREFUL OF BAIT AND SWITCH AT YARNALL MOVING! I spoke with them two days ago about moving a dining table from Sarasota to Tampa, a distance of about 60 miles. I spent a long time on the phone describing the table, its size and its weight accurately, and I answered all of his questions. He said the price would be approximately $400. I called two days later to make all the arrangements, and I was told the price would be at least $900 and maybe more. That's bad business. Even though I have used YArnall to move cross country, I am not going to use them to move a table to Tampa. I don't like a company that lures me in with a low-ball price and then more than doubles it when I'm ready to sign up. That's sleazy. read more

I have moved a household full of items 7 times since 2000, with at least 50% of the moves being long-distance (e.g., MA to CA, FL to VA, MA to FL). I have used a variety of full service movers. My recent move from FL to VA was handled by United and this is a review of that move, which was done professionally. United was among the best movers, not as good as the best mover in a corporate move of a 3 bedroom/3 bath home that cost over $75,000 from MA to CA, but was just a little bit below (in that I had to be aware of items like aerosols that could not be moved and separate those out while in the corporate move, the movers sent a person in to take care of everything beforehand). My estimate is that move would have cost 10-20% of the $75K if done by United. United moved my household belongs from Tampa, FL to Arlington, VA in late Feb 2017. This involved a full pack, loading and unloading, and then a partial unpack (of the kitchen) and a removal of all empty boxes on the day of the unloading. I went to 4 moving companies for estimates. United was not the lowest but was very competitive. The estimator was accurate and thorough AND honest, and included crating of an expensive glass table and special handling of some large artwork. The move coordinator, Stephanie, was excellent. Each time I had a concern about the loading and/or unloading, she was on the phone to clarify or fix issues, e.g., arranging for unpackers to come in from the local United Van Line organization within 1 hour of a call. She made the move go smoothly! The loading was excellent. Even with rain, the runners protected the floors of my house. The unloading was also good even though the destination was on the 12th floor of a building and required the unloaders to actually carry some artwork up the stairs since the piece was too large to fit in the elevator! The movers were careful with the only damage being a slight chipped front of a small wood file cabinet. United paid the small damage claim within 2 weeks. This was my second moved with United. Previously, I had moved from Sarasota, FL to Dunedin, FL. The same estimator was used then and was honest, open and reliable. The same move coordinator, Stephanie, was also used and she was very good on this easier local move. In the longer Tampa, FL to Arlington, VA move, she was just superb and made everything go easier. I would definitely use United to move again. read more

Davina came to my home and gave me an estimate. She was professional, friendly and answered all of my questions. I received several other quotes and although Yarnall was higher opted to go with them, I called Davina and told her. Several days later I received an Email from someone else at the company confirming my dates and giving me different information then Davina had at her visit. When I called her to clarify she explained she had made an "error" and it was all about trust. Obviously trust does not work both ways. If you go with them read everything you receive and be very careful. read more

They were on time for all appointments, respectful of our needs and worked efficiently to pack and move. Their system of marking boxes and checking them on the other end worked very well. I used Yarnell during my move from Tampa to NYC and I was pleased with every interaction and step of the process. The estimator was reassuring of my concerns and was the most knowledgeable from all of the moving companies I had shopped around with. She was the only estimator who mentioned that my street would likely be too narrow for a regular sized truck and so we adjusted accordingly. The men that came to pack some of my belongings and load up the truck were friendly, courteous and did a great job packing. My belongings were delivered in two weeks. Excellent service. I have heard tons of horror stories about moving and movers especially across state lines. But hiring Yarnall to move my parents from Florida to Texas was the best decision ever. They performed the whole process seamlessly. Gave a Competitive Quote , easy paperwork, set a date that was convenient for us, showed up right on time on day of the move with a large van and a a wonderful team of 4 men. Moved each and every item quickly and efficiently and expertly pack the king size sleep number bed, exercise equipment and other unusual items (paintings, etc. ). All is less than 4 hours and off they went and delivered 4 states away just days later. Again unloaded the van quickly and efficiently and even helped set up some items even quicker than they packed everything just days before. Amazing. What should have been an easy local move turned into a nightmare with this company. From an aggressive mover, damage to antiques to a deeply torn mattress that was supposed to be in the mattress box I purchased from them- I had nothing but trouble. The owner was condescending to us, yelled at us, and was generally anything but an A+ service provider. As senior citizens- we tried to do our homework and thought we found a reputable mover. Turns out we had to go through quite a bit of stress and many insulting conversations to finally get the conclusion of repaired furniture and mattress replacement (we purchased a full replacement insurance policy) - from our move Jan 12 2018 until resolution- March 29th- what stress. I can't tell you how many emails and phone calls went unanswered. Accusations about communications with the man doing the damage control who also never responded, sent emails with empty promises. The worst of all of it was the poor attitude the owner had and how nasty he was to work with. What made him finally pay for the mattress after a LONG history of contacts---- was it the Department of Agriculture? The Sarasota Chamber of Commerce (of which he is a board member ) hearing how he treated us? Or the Attorney General's office? They all got the trail of emails promising us resolution far sooner than we got it. And the aggressive mover they sent? His harassing nature to me as their consumer was concerning, my husband would not allow him near me. At the end of a terrible moving day- despite the poor quality of the move- this aggressive moving man and the other 2 movers received a fruitful tip from us. Would I recommend this company- NO. Oh- and we tried to get United Van Lines to help us to- despite our contract with Yarnall as a United Van Line company- they dropped United so was our contract actually falsely executed? I have used Yarnall Moving services twice: once to move from Sarasota, FL to Gainesville, FL and the second time to move back to Sarasota. Ed and Matt were the guys that moved my belongings both times and they were FANTASTIC!!! They loaded the contents of a 2 bed/2 bath home in 1.5 hours. They worked very quickly and efficiently, while being very careful of my "stuff". Everything arrived for both moves in excellent condition. Plus, Yarnall gave me the lowest estimate of 5 movers in the area. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Yarnall Moving and Storage to anyone that needs to have their belongings moved quickly, delivered on time and in excellent condition. I would highly recommend Yarnall Moving Company. I recently had a cross-country move and everything went very smoothly, which doesn't always happen! They had superior customer service - always easy to get on the phone or via email and they did what they said they were going to do. They also worked with me on a special request - to delay my delivery date range by two weeks so we could make the cross-country drive into a vacation and not just a mad-dash drive - and they did not charge anything additional for this. Lastly, their price was definitely fair. I didn't do much comparison pricing, but from talking to other people with similar moves Yarnall was certainly reasonable, especially when you factor in the quality of service. read more

I had Yarnall move furniture and other items from Sarasota to England. Although the packers did a good job, the estimator did not. When my shipment was half way to its final destination I received an e-mail stating that my final cost was 37% more than the estimate because the estimator got the volume wrong. If I had known the final cost was going to be that much more, I would have reduced the volume of my shipment, but I was never given that choice! Do not trust their estimates!! read more

The packers and movers did a good job with a few exceptions. The real problem is with management with follow up. I was told when I signed up that they would pick up our moving boxes when needed. The movers also told us to give them a call and they would pick up the boxes. When I first called and left a voice mail they didn't call back. The second time I finally talked to Jay Vandroff and he told me they were to busy and it was a courtesy service and they would get back to me later. Two weeks later I sent an email asking for a response about picking up the boxes plus several things we were missing and got no response. I then called again and got a call back from Jay Vandroff And was told it was a courtesy service and they would get to me when they could. If you are expecting any follow up service you will not get it. They also were the most expensive bid I received and I expected better service, not true! read more
