There's a vintage clothing section in the way back of the basement (seriously this is the best kind of thrifting) where I have found a vintage handbag and a vintage wool coat. Both of these items I get complements on All the Time. Honestly I brag about this place on the regular. It's like any other thrift store, sometimes you hit it on a good day, other times not so much. I go weekly. As for the poster comments on the staff, I've personally never experienced anything but decency. Can you really blame someone for wanting to leave work on time on a Saturday afternoon? A week and a half later - I called them and they said that the knives would be ready for pick up at the end of the day. I picked them up the next day - they charged me $8.00 for it - however, the knives were not sharpened as the edges had the same pieces of dirt and grime as when I brought them in. Highly recommend going elsewhere to do any kind of business unless you really want to be ripped off. If they cannot be honest enough to sharpen knives, how can they be trusted in any kind of other business transaction?

Bought a used Hamar wheel chair lift in MQT county that was less than a year old. Elevator company would have done it but quote was in the thousands for 2 hours of time. Called Doug and he travelled to Ishpeming and had it running in about an hours time and charged much less than that the elevator quote. I am a painter, so I went in to see what is offered. When I went into the gallery I was heartened to see true representation of local artists and that the works were skillful and professionally displayed. When I've been in other cities I've been increasingly disappointed that galleries show a large percentage of coldly decorative or derivative work. It was refreshing to see items that were sincere. I didn't expect to see a gallery of any significance in Calumet, and it is not the only one there, either.
