They have been kind and friendly. The course is fine to me, kept clean and mowed. They have been remodeling the bathrooms and the men's room was not open and they had to use a porta-potty outside. Other than that, the inside was fine looking. There is no "beer cart" that goes around, so that is a negative. There is only one bathroom during the 9 hole course (you hit it twice during the course) but it's early on when you start. I don't like that bc usually when you start the course, I haven't drunken enough to need to use it. ;-) It's an okay course to try, especially if your not a pro golfer like myself. Not a lot of ppl there and pretty easy holes.

I opted to visit Falconhead at a much more reasonable price. I did however have to pay for a 3rd that I originally booked even though he could not make it due to illness but that was clearly communicated when I booked the round with the course. Unfortunate but I was very aware. The course was fun, challenging and well kept for a public course. The greens were slow but were in such great shape, not the norm for a public course either. The driving range is small and just OK but it gets the job done. I would love to play there again when I'm in North Austin.

The staff was so accommodating and helpful. We bought one of their packages which included greens fees, breakfast tacos and two drink tickets. Breakfast tacos were outstanding. The course itself is beautiful. Lots of challenging holes and very well maintained. The greens were almost perfect and this was in January. Highly recommend this course and will be back to play it. They have two sister courses in the area as well.

I was attending a Homeowners Association Meeting on behalf of my dear Daddy at The Hills of Lakeway Country Club- yes the one with the Jack Nicklaus golf course - don't even ask how I know this... The meeting lasted from 8:30 AM till 12:30PM and I was so hungry afterward I headed straight towards the smell of food at the Live Oak Bistro only to be denied because I was wearing denim jeans. Behind me a white haired gentleman with a heavy southern drawl said "Oh Darlin I forgot to tell you this place has a snobby dress code". The host was so shocked she let me/us in. I had a delightful meal with a handsome older gentleman in a place I will most likely never eat at again since there is a strict dress code and I like my denim jeans whether they cost 5.00 or 200.00... If you ever have the pleasure of eating here they make an amazing Gyro Sandwich - tender roasted lamb in a pita with lettuce tomato and a tangy sauce.. Very memorable lunch too bad about the dress code and member rules since my lunch was so good... What stood out about this course it wasn't just an average course. They have a nice game room with pool tables, golf simulator, golden tee, and a nice bar setup within their clubhouse. They even have a food truck right outside the club house next to their golf simulator room. When you walk into pay just go to the right and you will see their golf shop. Plenty of swag gear and other necessities that most golf clubs don't carry in my opinion. For course play, hole one is not only a challenge being you have to battle your way up "Hamburger Hill" with slice to a bit left and a slightly inclined putting green. You have to watch out for the driving range to the right. My buddy and I had a good time playing, but man it was cold when we arrived here and we were the first couple of players to start the day. The golf carts come with two USB type A plugs to keep your electronic devices charged. They also use a TagMarshall for GPS. Which in my opinion it is one of the best GPS devices I have utilized on a golf cart. This course has a lot of scenic holes with plenty of wildlife aka deer roaming the course. They are pretty cool to watch as they watch you play tis course. The staff here are friendly and welcoming when you arrive. Depending on where you are located in the Austin area it can be a bit of a drive; however, the drive is very scenic. From Pflugerville it was about a 55 minute drive. I highly recommend trying to this course out if you're tired playing the usual courses in the Austin area. Also, they offer military discount through military tee times.

Sunday brunch is always packed, so be prepared to make a reservation at least a few days in advance. There are activities and social events nearly every week at either The Hills or Flintrock Golf courses including scrambles and pro tips, bingo and BBQ, happy hours, etc etc. The golf courses (the hills and Flintrock) are the stars of this show, along with the coaching staff. Ron Miller, the director, is a suburb coach. The fairways are well maintained and perhaps because of the rain and aeration plan, very green. The course is challenging, but fun. Carts are readily available and the course is pretty hilly, so even intrepid pedalers will need one. There are plenty of practice areas including a nice putting green which minims the play, a driving range, and there are even 3 academy holes (par 3 through 5) with 3 flags a piece to work on your course management. Super fun to play and worth at least a social membership.
