I've been a regular at Forest Creek for many years and have really enjoyed the upgrades in recent years. The staff is super friendly, especially Bryan, and the course is both interesting and in good shape for December. The pro shop was expanded and has a good selection of hats, balls, shirts etc. and Matt, the GM can order whatever clubs you want. The cafe has also expanded the food and beverage selections with very good quality. Due to the huge influx of people to the area, the demand on golf courses and corresponding price hikes are noticeable to the locals/regulars but not excessive. I'll definitely be playing again on every trip back to Round Rock. Try it, you'll love it! read more

Played a really unfortunate round at Forest Creek today. First, $115+ is way too much for a course in that condition, especially the greens. Next, rounds of golf should not take more than 5+ hrs unless the management of the course allow it to happen. I had to call the pro shop on the group in front of us for taking nearly 25-30 minutes a hole, throwing their clubs across the course, and yelling cuss words for the entire golf course to hear. Marshall came out but drove right past the green continuing to shout cuss words that we could hear from the fairway. These words from the Marshall are why courses have gone downhill, "it's a public course, there's not anything we can do." Do better Forest Creek. read more

Ain't nothing like waking up on a saturday and having a tee time at 7:45 am. The greens are nice and green. No yellow in any of the 18 we played. I have to say one of the nicest courses that I've played on. This place is a bit pricey but well worth it. The carts come with gps and let you know the yardest. Cart girls cones around about every 3 holes to see if you need anything. The food is good. This place I will definitely keep golfing at. read more

This is a wonderful challenging track. FC went through a major update a few years ago and it shows. Playing from the correct tees will provide you with a good challenge. Even though it is still early in the season the fairways provide great lies and the greens are in excellent condition. Their fully equipped carts with GPS keep the game moving along. The practice facility has also been improved with a grass driving range, large putting green, and a good-sized chipping area. read more

This golf course is phenomenal! By no means am I a pro player. But man they are in the 21st century with their golf carts. All their golf carts have GPS, they even notify you if you're taking to long to play. They tell you the distance to the hole you are playing on. They will shut off on you if you choose not to follow the course rules with the grass. They provide you sand to assist with the up keep and damage from swing your clubs. On the 9th hole you can call ahead to get your food or beverages ready for the next 9 holes. The staff here are great and friendly as can be. They will provide you some great pointers too if you ask them. Overall, this is one of the best golf courses I enjoy playing on. read more

Well kept golf course, greens were pristine the day we went. Be ready for a fairly difficult course to play, some tricky holes with lots of water, sand and forests to keep you on your toes. Ample choices on the alcohol selection, and an even better selection back at the club house. Landsharks were one of my top choices. Only played 9 so can't vouch for the rest of the course but they were some of the most interesting holes I've played, great layout on this course! read more

Had not been to this course in a couple of years. Always liked it but thought it was a little pricey. Well my son got me to go back out for a twilight round of Flog on Saturday. What a great day. First off, the course is doing some over seeding for the fall but that really only affected the tee boxes if you were actually playing golf. They had the markers at the front of each tee box - who doesn't want a few yards given to them on each hole? But the thing that caught my eye and feels were the greens. Not sure what the Stimpmeter was on those bad boys, but they were as slippery as a sheet of ice. FAST! While that makes putting that much more difficult, it sure felt like the true actions of the greens were in charge and not a myriad of bumps, scraps and shoe marks. The staff were very friendly but the course conditions are horrible. The green conditions are horrendous with huge patches of dirt. Definitely not worth the price. After reaching out to management all they said was "they have a bad spell of algae" yet they don't adjust fees or give you a heads up of current course conditions. Haven't been here is 25 years but can't wait to go back. Played Friday 1/20 at 11:30. The staff here is AMAZING! Lived in Austin my entire life and have played pretty much everywhere and the folks at Forrest Creek are the friendliest ever! From the pro-shop guys, to the starter and marshals and on into the grill just a wonderful experience all the way around. Course was in great shape as well. Your green fee includes a small bucket of range balls, free sausage wrap and a beer, plus entered into a raffle! Played like sh** but it was a fantastic time all the same. Stopped by here on a Monday with the purpose I'd doing 2 things: hitting a few range balls and checking on a membership for 2021. Usually you have to get out of your car to have a bad impression but I just barely did before being stopped by the Chief of The Cart Barn alerting me "we're closed, got a tournament today". Okay, that's fine, but "what about the range?" It's closed, tournament today". And that's also fine, because I could never join there. Of a club selling memberships for $$$$ closed the course for a tournament, okay, that's not uncommon. But if you can't use the practice facility when you're having a tournament that leaves me out. Plus, the interpersonal skills of the guy, and his attitude, leave me and my family out. I didn't realize I was at Cypress Point. "No GOLF here, no practicing, no help...no SOUP for you, either". Amazing. Sources: "Forest Creek GC is hosting the US Open today. Don't even ask. They're having a tournament, and because it's the Round Rock Glee Club Open, you can't leave the parking lot.". I like the updates to the course. It was extremely busy while we were there with friends from out of town. Lots of trees and the greens were new but a little slow. That weekend the course appeared to be flooded a little. Made it very difficult to walk with pushcart. Don't over water. I was hoping they would update the driving range and especially the fairways. Still too many overhanging trees as well. One should not have to contend with an overhanging tree limbs from tee box. The course has been improved but I don't view it as a $60-80 golf course. Might be best to catch a late afternoon. Tee time off of golf now or something. Single digit handicap. read more

Read the reviews before you hopefully don't go here. Forest Creek has been my favorite course in this area especially since the renovation! I actually moved out of the state but came back to visit. During my visit I decided that I wanted to take my friend who has never golfed to the best course that I could think of. We were paired with two other men that were also playing a leisurely game of golf and were very nice. Unfortunately me and my friend's experience turned out to be a lot less than great. Although the group behind us had only caught up one other time (and if they would have been backed up we would have let them play though) the marshals came to talk to me and my friend four times. We kindly explained each time that we were fairly new to golf and that we were trying our hardest. We were even dropping in and skipping holes because we felt pressured. Telling a beginner "you're holding up the line so you need to play faster" is not enjoyable nor does it help that person play faster. We are both young Hispanic men with tattoos, and we couldn't help but feel like the marshals were only talking to my friend and I out of our group and additionally the people in front of us that we kept catching up to. Moral of the story, don't go here if you're POC, or not a fucking pro at golf because the "complaints" behind you get directed at whoever "seems to be holding the line." Btw we were stuck behind another group the entire time and the marshals never addressed them. Tell the marshals they should get a job at the DMV instead, maybe they'd be more helpful there read more

I grew up playing golf in Palm Springs California and I believe I am a pretty reasonable person. I have played 100's of courses in my lifetime and have never been treated so poorly as we did today. Playing at Forest Creek GC today was by far the worst experience as a group of golfers could have ever had. We literally had put together several foursomes to play today and at $63-$74 dollars per person you would expect that the staff would be at least friendly and courteous, not at Forest Creek. All of our foursomes experienced the same harassment at every hole, the marshals have no idea who is paying their salaries. They came up to us on almost every hole and asked to play faster. Where are you going to go if you have a group in front of you? The Marshals continued to be at almost every hole and shot we played, if not in direct eye shot definitely in the peripheral. At one point they asked one of our foursomes to skip a hole only to have them have to wait to tee off due to the group in front of them. We all paid to play today 18 holes not 17 and we all came out the enjoy our Saturday but it was not going to happen. Even asking the Marshals to give us space they responded with a stern "No" at one point picking up players balls in play. We even went into Pro Shop at the turn and asked them to get the Marshals off of us but the just ignored the request. My company held a charity golf tournament here a few days ago. It is a private golf course located in the Forest Creek neighborhood up north in Round Rock. The location and property were beautiful. The course was super green and looked like it had been well cared for too. We used the club house for registration, silent auction, dinner and awards ceremony and it was a good fit for the amount of people we had. We had about 18 teams, which was around 75 golfers. Lunch was provided to the volunteers and I had the golfer's club, which really hit the spot! The crew that worked the concession area also did all the catering for the dinner part. They seemed well organized and did a great job at ensuring everything was brought out, stocked well and cleaned up. If you are looking to host a golf tournament like this I would definitely recommend considering this course! read more

Love this course, I have been playing there for the last 15 years. My wife has also accompanied me for many rounds there as a spectator without any issue. We booked a morning round on 11/7/2021 and the guy in the pro shop informed me that she would have to walk because I did not call ahead to let them know I had a rider and they didn't have enough carts. This dude must have been on some kind of power trip because when I went back into the pro shop to tell him to cancel our round, he was snapping at another patron about the price listed on the website vs what he was being charged. A quick website search showed the customer was right. Again, golf course is great but this is far from the first complaint I have heard about the staff. read more

If you are a beginner Or a slower player, don't bother with this course. They will rush you nonstop making the game not enjoyable, and don't even do it professionally. Then they will feed you a line like "rule of thumb play at a slower time" which isn't right . You shouldn't be required to go at a time that works for them. Your money is as good as someone that has been playing forever and flys through the course. However here that is not the case. If you are a beginner learning or someone with issues that cause you to move slower they don't want you to play on your time but rather when convenient for them. Would not recommend this course to anyone, due to its staff and management. On a good note it is a beautiful course with great greens and challenging play, just don't expect to enjoy it if you are a little slower, they will give you the rule of thumb talk. read more

What a thinking man's course! Sharp dog legs every where. The renovation to this course is FANTASTIC! Super smooth greens, beautiful fairways, lots of blind or semi blind tee shots. My foursome fell apart during the week but the staff at the club worked with me all week. By all means get the package deal, green fees and cart, small bucket of balls, sleeve of srixon balls, and a sausage wrap or hot dog and soda or draft beer at the grill! The course is decent but the golf superintendent or the course process needs definite improvement and refining. In an age where customer service is so important, sub par experiences like these are unacceptable. Being asked to rush when the group behind is more than entire hole behind is beyond unreasonable. To make matters worse though are when individuals do not listen want to listen to reason or common sense. You're in a business with customers, at least treat your customers with respect. read more

I thought the staff was great and incredibly kind and accommodating. Unfortunately I would struggle to recommend Forrest Creek, especially on a weekend. There was a tournament on Saturday and I think a couple of serious errors were made in how the tee times after that were managed. We had a 10:17 tee time and arrived at #1 at 10:15. There was no one on the tee box and had not been for about the past 10 minutes. So let's assume the last group came through at 10am. Unfortunately the starter waited until 10:25 when the final tournament group came through. This means that this particular group was playing TWENTY FIVE minutes behind the group in front of them. The starter had us wait for this last group to tee off. This was totally unacceptable. We were stuck behind this group an average of 10 minutes per hold. That's right, TEN minutes we would wait to tee off each hole. I watched them spend 25 minutes in the fairway on one hole. By the time we reached #5 we had been playing for almost TWO HOURS! We asked the group in front if we could play through and they lied by saying "we have been waiting on the group in front of us". I called BS. There was no other group in site. We finally drove through and skipped a hole. The next group we came across was on the green of #7. Again, so disappointed in the way they managed this tournament and subsequent groups teeing off behind them. We finally bailed out at the turn after 3 hours on the front nine. read more

I wanted to like this course. I read earlier reviews about a country club like feel. That must have been awhile ago. The first clue should have been when the starter said that they are going to pour a lot of money into the place and replace all of the greens. There is a good reason for that. The greens aren't really greens - they are more like concrete that might be painted light green. After chasing us around for the first five holes the ranger said you might as well just play the two putt rule once you are on the green! Well now I wish the pro shop would have told us that before we shelled out $52.00 for the round! Until they lower the price or do the renovations stay away from this course. read more

This has to be the scariest name for a golf course. I want nothing to do with forests or creeks when golfing, but Forest Creek is certainly a great place to play. Although Texas droughts often remove the creek element, this course can be pretty challenging (especially when windy). The layout is fun, and at times nicely creative, leaving you with some interesting decisions of whether to go for it or not. Even under tough weather conditions, I've found Forest Creek to always be in pretty nice shape. I've been playing here every now and then for over 10 years, and still enjoy coming back. Most recently I played FC as part of a charity scramble tournament, and they ran it wonderfully. Certainly a good option for hitting the links in the greater Austin area. read more

My friend invited me to play a round with him up here. Yes it is a bit far from central Austin but not too bad on a Sunday afternoon. The weather was perfect and the greens were well groomed. All the employees were very friendly and the venue was well maintained. Not much elevation change in the course but definitely some doglegs and water hazards to keep you thinking. read more

The course recently got $5M in renovations and it shows. Course conditions are much nicer and traps and greens are fantastic. We got a sleeve of balls, free range balls, a cup of chili, and a $1 draft beer with our very reasonable greens fee. Hard to beat that deal! Ranger was upfront about keeping pace of play and they have clocks every few holes showing you if you're keeping pace. This is great because it avoids the dreaded 5-6 hour round. read more

$10 "Large" bucket of balls is equivalent to Small anywhere else. No ball baskets near the dispenser, had to hunt then down. PA speaker outdoors is very poor quality, was blaring, and it was impossible to understand what was being said. Chipping area was nice and very large with a nice green. read more

I've played at Forest Creek many times over the years. It's always been a decent, respectable track. However, since I started playing in their Central Texas Amateur Championship a few summers ago, my opinion has drastically improved. From what I can tell, this change in overall attitude and level of professionalism is a result of Head Golf Professional Matthew Marx's management. My experience in the Cen-Tex Am the last few years has been worth the entry fee without a doubt, and the same goes for every weekend round in between. That is, however, until this year. There was a new, older "gentleman" who was in the shop during the event. In what seemed to be a frustrating situation for the regular staff (who still handled everything with patience and professionalism), this guy, seemed to be on a mission to do everything his way. From the passing out of cart keys, to handing out range balls, and everything else along the way, he did everything opposite to how it had always been done, and was clearly set up for prior to the event. He was rude to the players, their family members who came to see them play, and to his co-workers, without concern for who heard. Any question anyone had, he seemed to give them this blank stare, and then say something either rude, or completely irrelevant to what they asked. It was truly surreal. Now, even with this guy, I would still highly recommended Forest Creek Golf Club. Their prices are about the same as the Austin Muni's, but it's a much better design and the conditions, especially the greens, are much better. I still plan to play in the Cen-Tex Am next summer, but I hope it's fully back in the hands of Matthew Marx and the regular staff. If so, I'll bump my review up to 5 stars! read more

Course is ok.. range balls are fairly new, and chipping practice area is nice. The only reason I gave 2 stars was because during the COVID pandemic, half the range was occupied by a cornhole tournament with tons of people wearing no masks. This left very little space between the people on the range who were actually there to play golf. Why the hell would you host a cornhole tournament on a golf course?? That's like people bowling on baseball field. Message to management... move the non-golf social events off the course and practice areas and let them play elsewhere. There's tons of land out there around the course, especially for large unmasked groups that don't care about giving others COVID. read more

Absolutely amazing place to play, great place for a competitive or just to have a good time(the pace of play is better than average, around 4 hours, usually less). The service in the pro shop and restaurant is exceptional. A great price for the experience you receive! Out of the course selection in the Georgetown/ round rock area I would definitely recommend this place over teravista country club or the other surrounding courses. read more
