Prices are in line with others locally. Remember people your in Hawaii things cost money! I honestly felt they are lower but the wife says it is about the same. Many who have tried to grow cacao know that Hawaii is actually not that easy to grow and ferment quality chocolate, so I understand the challenge. Like wine, the weather year to year can affect the bitterness and richness of flavor as much as the processing. I tried 5 different flavors, Hapuna milk chocolate with Hawaiian sea salt, surprisingly bitter for milk chocolate and salt was too strong...my family found it inedible. The matcha blend was a good flavor but had a sandy gritty texture and also on the bitter side. The seasonal pumpkin was better, because I love those flavors and aromas but had a flat taste like it liked cream or fat. The pelagic dark 90% was as expected, on the bitter side but in a good way. Still have to try the 70% leeward cashews with salt but don't have high hopes. Their chocolate dipped peppermint sticks were good, and the turtles were fresh and chewy. Their shop is lovely and nice to take a hot chocolate and enjoy one of their sweets as a short break and the staff are nice. Their merch is cute, the stickers in particular. In summary it's worth a visit to the shop in Kona, but buy their merchandise not their chocolate bars.

They have samples of everything out in their gift shop, and they're doing some pretty fun stuff - we absolutely bought a couple bars (as usual, I liked the darkest and my wife liked the lightest chocolate the most, but they were all quite good.) I'd give the *tour*, which they only do a couple times a week, so we had to adjust our schedule a bit to make it to one, a 4/5. It was interesting, but you don't actually get to see any chocolate being made, a lot of it was just discussion (albeit: discussion while standing in a production cacao orchard - I'd never actually *seen cacao trees in person, they are pretty cool! Cool, but also full of spider webs.) They also cut open a fresh, ripe, not-processed-yet cacao bean at the end of the tour, and we got to try a little bit (it's delicious - sweet and fruity, nothing like chocolate. I wish we'd gotten to eat a bit more of it, honestly.) It was an interesting tour, not sure it was worth the extra planning it took to be there for it though - other than the fresh cacao fruit, you don't get anything you can't also try in the gift shop any time of day.

I loved the cute little map that comes with the flight to remember what each beer is. The service was also very fast and friendly. Even though most other patrons were also there to eat dinner, we never felt rushed or disregarded for only ordering a little flight of beers. We went to the bar area because in the past, without reservations, that was your only real shot of getting seated without a significant wait. That wasn't an issue today. We both ordered a large pizza. I got the Captain, and my buddy did a "Build your own" with 3-4 ingredients. We each had a single drink (pint of beer and a vodka soda) and the check including tip was $100. That is a lot of money for two pizzas, and two drinks. I will say our server was on top of it the entire time. She checked on us several times and was great. My pizza was good. I feel like they subtracted some ingredients from the past but it was tasty. The sauce had a hint of sweetness but not over the top. I did like the crust, although some may have found it to be slightly undercooked; it was but I didn't mind. Our orders came out quickly, pizzas were tasty, service was great. 4/5 stars because for pizza, it seems a bit pricey.

Not to mention, the staff were killing it when turning tables! I went with the classic, Spicy Garlic Chicken. For me, it wasn't spicy at all. So, I would greatly encourage those on the fence of which Garlic dish to order, go spicy! It is PACKED with flavor... and did I mention, it broke da mouth! I added the kimchi cucumbers for my vegetable and they were fire. I even went back for the pork belly because dayummm. As always, expect a line. Because locals and tourists love this place! I opted to eat the food by the ocean and in the rainforest at my B+B. So, take the food to a cozy corner of Hawaii and bite down! You will be missing out on a local staple, so RUN to this amazing restaurant once you arrive on the Big Island!!!

There was a long line out the door that slowly moved. Once inside, it was uncomfortably hot (no AC). So if you're heat-sensitive, be mindful that you might be waiting awhile. You order and pay at the counter. Upon receiving your number, you wait to be called to pick up your food. All items are served in takeout containers. They have several tables inside, or you can take it to go. The workers are all kind and work hard. Being a popular spot with made-to-order items, it took a while for our food to come out. The ambiance is casual, really not much decor or stuff to look at. My Dad and I shared the Two-Meat Combo. We chose Garlic Furikake Chicken and Pork Belly Fat Adobo as our proteins. Plus white rice as our starch and mac salad as our side. The portions are quite big; this was more than enough for us. The chicken was crunchy and tasty. Depending on the bite, some meat was a bit drier than others. The pork adobo was so good--melt in your mouth with the fattiness! The mac salad was a winner. Broke Da Mouth Grindz seems to be a go-to spot for locals and tourists in Kona. Beware, lines can be super long and wait times can vary. I'm happy to have tried it, but I wouldn't come again during a peak hour. Find them on Luhia Street with free parking in the plaza.
