By far my favorite here in Amarillo. Tops my list - a must to visit when in Amarillo. Shoutout to Stephanie she was very warm, welcoming and wont make you feel that you're just a number. I walked in around 6:30 AM on Christmas Eve and was immediately greeted and directed to table 25. The waitress appeared, and had my coffee and water in front of me in under a minute - and even at 6:30 this place is hopping. There must have been at least a dozen other tables seated. Definitely popular with the locals! I perused the menu, though I'd really already made my choice online - the half Benedict with those famous pancakes. As someone who adores hollandaise sauce, I wasn't sure what I'd think of having green chili thrown into the mix, but it was amazing. The ham was about a quarter inch thick but so tender you could still slice through it with your fork. Honestly, this was the best Benedict I've ever had (and I've had MANY). While I'm not a pancake connoisseur, I can say these absolutely hit the spot. Fluffy with plenty of whipped butter and syrup served on the side - and let me say that if these are "silver dollar" size so don't know what I'd go with a full size. I come in to eat at one my usual spots, I bring my daughter. The minute I walk in I get half greeted and left behind because my host didn't say a single word. We sit there for 5 minutes everyone. If you love down home cooking breakfast kind of places like we do, this is your place. We were originally going to go to Brent's Cafe, but they were closed, and we happily stumbled upon this place. The place was packed. Don't judge the parking lot fullness by your wait time. The parking lot was full when we went and we only had 5 minute wait before we got our table. The waitress was so friendly. Everything came out delicious, hot, and with a smile. We enjoyed the hot chocolate, western omelette, chocolate chip pancakes, and biscuits and gravy. Needed a place for breakfast, and this was close to our hotel and had good reviews. When we walked in, it was a small place with table and booth seating. Got sat quickly and ordered off the senior menu at the bottom of the regular menu. I got the pancakes with 1 egg and bacon and Bobbie the 2 eggs with hashbrowns and bacon. The pancakes were not silver dollar as the menu said, but probably 8 inches around, which was ok, but I didn't eat them all. The eggs, both hers and mine, were done perfectly. The issue came about 30 minutes after we left. Both Bobbie and I came down with upset stomachs that we can only attribute to the bacon since that's all we had in common. It wasn't really cooked all the way, which might have been a clue, but we didn't think of that at the time. By later that day, we were both better, but something was off. If I could give zero stars I would. Place is unfriendly, unprofessional and racist. My folks were racially profiled as soon as they walked in. Waitresses ignored them once she finally seated them she barely spoke to them. Didn't say hello or ask how many. Other workers in the restaurant were unfriendly too. Horrible, horrible service!!! Teri my server was AWESOME!!! Was not her first rodeo as a server, much appreciated. I had chicken fried steak w cream gravy, 2 eggs basted medium, pancakes and hash browns. Hot fresh pancakes, basted eggs cooked perfectly, gorgeous hashbrowns, awesome presentation, check pic. Disclaimer: I am a sausage gravy fan, not cream. That said I ate the cream gravy.....all of it. We went there on New Year's Day morning for brunch, and they did NOT disappoint! We saw some reviews online and decided to go (as we tend to gravity to local places to try vs chain places). - The wait staff was exceptional and helpful! - The food came out fast and fresh! - The coffee was great, plain black no sugar or cream needed - If you go, the cinnamon roll is a MUST; we shared it, and we all agreed that in ALL the cinnamon rolls we have ever had, THIS one was BY FAR THE BEST! This is truly a hidden gem, they are off the beaten path as far as restaurants are concerned, if you are lucky enough to pass this place and you're hungry especially for breakfast make sure you stop you won't be disappointed. The staff is always really nice and attentive. The food is delicious! We have had so many different meals here it's hard to pick a favorite, the pancakes are tender and flavorful, the French toast is delicious, we haven't ever had any complaints on anything except for maybe a small restroom but that's it! We loved this little cafe! The line was a bit long, but our wait ended up being on 15 minutes. Everything on the menu looked amazing! I orders the ham, Swiss and mushroom omelet and it was so delish! Made with three large eggs, it was huge and I only ate half. It also came with two sides and I chose biscuits and gravy, and hashbrooms. This made for a generous amount of food! The gravy had sausage pieces in it and it made it a meal by itself! My kids had the pancakes and absolutely stuffed themselves, telling us how great they were. My husband had the breakfast meal with sausage, eggs (sunny side and cooked perfectly) and toast. He enjoyed everything! He cleaned his plate plus half my biscuits and gravy. Our server was very friendly and kept our drinks full! The ambiance was that of an old country diner. Kinda small, cozy and eclectic with old diner signs & decor. I rarely get a chance to go out for a pancake breakfast so this was a TREAT! The breakfast was everything I wanted it to be. The restaurant was fairly busy but they maintained plenty of space between patrons. The service was good, attentive but not annoying. I ordered a fruit cup, one pancake and one sunny side up egg (and coffee and orange juice). The fruit cup was a mix of strawberries, bananas and blueberries. The fruit was all fresh (some places throw together a fruit salad from what appears to be leftover or damaged fruit - this fruit was perfect and delicious!). The pancakes were GOOD! The right amount of fluffy and not too dense. I can't make pancakes like this at home!! I wish this restaurant was in my neighborhood! The world needs more simple restaurants like this. The price point was good too. The whole bill was less than $20 - we felt like we got plenty of food for less than $20.
