this place is nice good food out of a breakfast burrito actually with more like a cannon big nice tasting very very good where is a family had different breakfast and they really liked her a lot. I had a Keylime pie. Oh Nelly good good good my boy had the coconut cream pie and he really really liked it. Friendly young ladies nice little place riding a little Piper airport if anybody remembers an old 1992 1993 sitcom called Wings that reminds you of that television show. read more

One of the best burgers I've had! I ordered the cheeseburger with chips. The meat is thick and juicy. The bun is super soft. Staff is really nice. The restaurant has been packed both times I've been here, but service is quick! It's a cool little diner. Gotta come check it out! read more

I had eaten there less than a year ago and the food, service was excellent. I was looking forward to eating there this morning. Ordering the same as last time; the Belgian waffle, bacon and eggs, I was greatly disappointed. The service, coffee and eggs were great. The waffle was pitiful to the point it couldn't hv been made from scratch. It was flat, thin and had no marks of being freshly made. The bacon also was not the thick, crisp slices had before. This past Friday evening (2-13-2026) was our first time at Shelby's Diner and it did not disappoint. Excellent food and an amazing staff. I don't remember our server's name, but she recommended menu items and packed a dessert to go. Great job Shelby's staff. read more

OMG. 5 I just left a doctor appointment and wanted to take myself out to lunch. I did an online search for local restaurants nearby and Shelby's Diner was on the way home for me. I didn't want to eat at a chain and home cooking sounded great. Wow, am I happy I went there! The people were friendly, the waitress was wonderful and everything was served quickly. She took the time to chit chat with me a little bit (but not enough so that any of her other tables had to wait) and was super kind. The salad before the meal had tons of ingredients (I love cucumber and a lot of places don't put cucumbers on their salads anymore so they get bonus points for that!) Even the honey mustard dressing was amazing... The waitress gave me a little extra dressing without me having to ask . I got the hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and brown gravy with sauteed onions. Chef's kiss! It was hot, flavorful, and a very large portion. Kind of a small town diner style cafe at Tradewinds Airport with cool nostalgic stuff about the original owner on the wall. Even the other customers were friendly. I sat near the entrance so people had to walk by me to leave and every single person smiled and said hello. I heard a person at a table on one side of me talk about how they always love coming here and every meal is great. I heard another person across from me say that they had never been here before but it was their new favorite spot. Friends, if you haven't been here, you should stop by. Oh and I got the key lime pie for dessert but I was too full to eat it so I'm saving it for later. I'm sure it'll be fabulous! I hear the best time to go is Monday morning because their breakfast is incredible and you get to watch planes take off if you're sitting by the big windows. I'll definitely go back for that! I rarely eat alone so I was feeling some type of way about that, but it truly felt like I was just eating in a friend's big dining room with a bunch of new neighbors. ‍ read more

Food is so good here! Tea is excellent! Service is great. Friendly servers, Hamburger are VERY good. But their ribeye steaks are top notch. So tender, always cooked to our order "Perfect Medium." So tasty! Medium size salad, cold and good dressings. Silverware is not spotted, YAY! If you get there after 5pm. All the window seats to the Airport are taken but you can go outside inthe patio! Just darn good food. Kinda $$$ pricey but so worth the splurge! They are building another Shelby's in SW Amarillo, but the view won't be the view out on Tradewinds Airport. Congrats to your new restaurant coming soon but we will be out here when we can! They have other offerings of dishes but we stick to the evening steaks and Lunch Hamburgers. OH! Amazing food, amazing service, reasonable prices! We are native Texans now living in Arkansas, keeping the road hot from there to Amarillo for kids and grandkids. We enjoyed 2 meals this trip. Shelby's is incredible. The staff are amazing. Everyone is so hospitable and warm, it really feels like you've been a life long customer every time you walk in. The view of the airport is super cool, and we love to watch the planes fly in and out. The food is always spot on, and for as many times as we have eaten there, we have yet to have something that wasn't incredible. I cannot hype this place up enough, because it's truly THAT good. I am a fan of chicken fried steak and heard Shelby's was a great place to get one. After getting past the inch of empty, crispy crust, I found an underwhelming over cooked piece of meat. The waitress stopped and asked if I would like a to go box after which I explained the situation. She took my plate and never came back. When we went to the register to pay, there was never a mention of making it right. Charged me full price. Not too excited to try this place again. read more

When you want a Great burger this is the place to go. I'm usually not a burger fan but their burgers are the best I've had. Only one problem they are so big could only eat half of it. Service was great both times we've been. An added plus watching small planes land and take off. read more

Sat and waited for nearly 15 minutes before anyone even came to the table to ask for our drinks. All the waiters just looked at us and passed by. When they finally did show up, they didn't have half of what was listed on the menu, not to mention the girl taking our drink order had an attitude and had better things to do. The food took about 30 minutes and they brought salads and food to tables that came after us before we even got our own salads. I will never come back to this place. read more
