The therapist was probably the worst I have ever experienced. She ghosted our family sessions, then our child. She revealed personal details about her life inappropriately to find a short cut to building trust, these details should never have been shared in a therapeutic setting and bordered on malpractice. I called around and realized that therapy would run me $120 to $300 an hour. And spending this money was supposed to make me feel BETTER? Yeah right. Luckily, my school councelor referred me to JBFCS. At first I was a little weary - I like to stay as far away from any kind of religion as possible. But the place had sliding scale for low-income patients, so I figured I'd try it out. I'm happy I did. As soon as I entered the office, I realized that nobody was there trying to push religion down my throat. People of all colors, shapes and sizes were waiting with me in the intake office. The staff was courteous, gentle and very knowledgeable. I spent the next 5 years on and off seeing Inna Litrovnik, one of the therapists on staff. I cannot begin to describe how much she has helped me. She became much more than a therapist in an office: she was a friend, an advisor, a shoulder to cry on, a sounding board, a life coach. She was there for me at the worst and the best times - and all for very little money! Later, Inna became one of the organization's directors and stopped taking patients, but she did not abandon me. She kept seeing me, even though her busy schedule often made it difficult, and continued working with me. Today I feel that I am strong enough to no longer need her, but I know if I ever want to come back in the future, Inna and the rest of the JBFCS will be there for me.

They constantly belittled me, made fun of me, and put me down for their own gratification. They would constantly push their own personal political beliefs on me. When I asked for a new therapist I was put on a waitlist for 6 months and was told by a supervisor that the waiting list is indefinitely long. After 6 months with no therapy I was assigned an amazing new therapist who promptly left the organization because of how horrible it is to work at the Jewish Board. Don't even try getting care here. The office closes it's physical location but still have clients yet most of those clients aren't receiving any care. Go literally anywhere else they don't care about clients here.

We sought her help for my child's social anxiety issues. Without going into detail, the overall experience was very unpleasant. Overall more anxiety-inducing than therapeutic to any degree. The doctor was late for the appointment, the office environment was unpleasant, a ball tossing exercise made even me anxious. After meeting with my daughter she quickly dismissed any of our concerns w/o question. She talked at me, and not to me. Additionally, after calling the office to confirm that they accepted our insurance, I was later told that they did not. As a parent, I left feeling angry as I had subjected my child to nothing more then an unresolved, stressful encounter. We have since moved on to work with a therapist at the NYU Child Study Center in NYC where we feel respected as a family.

Her approach is warm and patient, two really important qualities when dealing with trauma, anxiety or depression. It's also really difficult to find an excellent Psychologist that sees children and adolescents, as well as adults, so as a colleague, it is great to know that I have someone who I can trust to refer to.
