Spicy oil that is a perfect topping for a calzone.

This is a cute little bar that was so perfect for lunch. It's got a great ambiance and our service was very good. My family got a couple of pizzas (margarita with buffalo and the peperoni which looked amazing) and some gnocchi. I switched from a pizza at the last moment to the ham and blue cheese calzone. It was really delicious and the waiter brought me a spicy oil that was low on spice and high on flavor (your results may vary). Please stop in for some sustenance and to relax from the heat.

This place had THE most delicious food! We ordered a lot and each dish was amazing. The B&B we stayed at recommended we try this restaurant and he was spot on. The service was excellent and of course the typical Italian Ambiance. We would come back here tomorrow but we are off to Pisa.

The pizza was very good. Flavors were balanced. The service was very good. Our server spoke three languages including Spanish.

Stopped here for lunch after a recommendation from our guide. I like when locals make recommendations because it usually means it's quality food and not super expensive. We found both here. The pizza is very thin crust. It was fun watching them roll out the dough to perfect circles. They were cutting up mushrooms when I was watching as well and the toppings all looked so fresh. We split a pepperoni pizza. This was the first time in 11 days of traveling Italy that we found pepperoni. The portions were perfect for a light lunch. Service was excellent and like most restaurants in Florence, the atmosphere was authentic, cozy, and welcoming. Great lunch.

    Meloncello Shots!

After Limoncello-ing ourselves silly throughout Italy we really wanted to find Meloncello late one night. We happened to be walking by the Yellow Bar window on the back to our hotel at the exact moment a group of people seated at the window table raised little glasses full of meloncello to toast each other. Okay! This was a sign. We went in to confirm it was, in fact Meloncello...told the server that's all we wanted and he seated us. He brought over Meloncello Spritzes...which we didn't want...and tried to convince us they were really good and we should have them. That's cool, but it was many hours past spritz-o'clock in Italy and we just wanted the shots, just like they had at the other table. He looked a little disappointed as he took the spritzes away, but did come back with our 2 little glasses of meloncello. We were happy to have them though they weren't as cold as they should have been. (Everything in the -cello family should be served from the freezer.) Although we didn't have any food, we glanced at the menu. There were many choices here, especially in the pizza category, and much of their food (according to the menu) is organic. If we were back in Florence, we'd definitely come back to give some food a try.

An enjoyable stop for lunch in Florence. There are so many restaurants in the city center, it can be hard to decide where to visit. Fortunately, we receive a recommendation for Yellow Bar and realized we were nearby. It was nicely air conditioned and had comfy booths. We saw guests eating from large, impressive pans of spaghetti. We almost ordered that, but then decided on a pizza and ravioli. The ravioli was sage and butter, which was very rich and almost too strong on the sage. The pizza was great. Service was friendly and quick. We'd definitely recommend.

Housemade pasta with ham and mushroom!

Excellent service and food! The pasta is freshly made and the options are tempting we loved the ham, mushroom special and the carbonara! The pizzas are crispy and thin with fresh ingredients and charred to perfection The salads are made with fresh ingredients with several options more typical to American standards. Try the meatballs and the roasted potatoes side dish ( crispy fried/ roasted to perfection) Service is fast, with lots of drink options ! People speak English very, very well and the menus has English descriptors making this a very comfortable place to visit.

Great pizza, amazing service! Fun place that was down the street from our Airbnb. It was super busy when we walked in and the host was so friendly and made sure we got a table quickly. The pizza was delicious and the adorable waitress was one we will remember forever! We will definitely be coming back to Yellow Bar!

Enjoyable meal in Firenze. We got the pasta with ham and mushrooms, one of my favorite pastas in Italy!

What a fabulous place! We shared an eggplant parmigiana as an appetizer and each got an entree of pizza and insulate nizzarda. Everything was so delicious - my husband declared it the best pizza he's had in Italy! The server Marsilda was such a sweetheart- friendly, attentive, and funny. She even helped explain the crazy sports game showing on TV (calico storico). A fun, down-home, casual place with cozy booths filled with a ton of locals and tourists alike. Definitely try it out!!

Great pizza! And maybe THE BEST carbonara I've ever had. You need to try this budget friendly spot as soon as you land in Florence.

From the outside, it looks like a grand, iron-and-glass structure typical of European markets; inside, it opens into a bustling, multi-level space filled with food vendors, communal tables, and constant movement. The vibe is energetic, social, and slightly chaotic in a fun way - perfect for grazing, group dining, or trying multiple cuisines in one visit (from Italian to American to Mexican!). We stopped in for a quick lunch at around 2pm on a Wednesday; there was plenty of seating at high-top tables, and QR codes on paper menus make it easy to explore all the different food vendor options. It's also a fun activity to peruse the market, taking in different sights, smells, and flavors. All of us ended up opting for Schiacciatas (large Italian sandwiches that are a staple in Florence) from Massimiliano Parri, which all ended up ranging from €10-12, depending on toppings - yes, it's more expensive than what you'd get from a traditional schiacciateria, but you're also paying for the market's location and convenience. We appreciated the fact that they shave the meat right in front of you! My schiacciata came with freshly shaved ham atop crusty white bread, slathered with burrata cheese, and sprinkled with arugula and figs (I opted for no additional olive oil, since I found the ham quite rich already). I loved the contrast of textures and flavors, though I will say that the bread ended up cutting the roof of my mouth! All in all, Mercato Centrale is a bit touristy, but still miles better (and cheaper) than most "Italian" sandwich places you'd find in the US (pro tip: save your receipt for free use of their bathrooms). The variety can't be beaten, prices are reasonable for a central market, and it's steps from some of Florence's most iconic spots.
