I called a cab before six. Two hours later, as I was boarding the plane, they called back to ask if I still needed a cab. I had mad fruitless calls in the interim because they call went into a program that allowed no contact with a dispatcher. I ended up paying for parking at the airport. Absolutely terrible excuse for a cab company. I need to take taxis home from work this week because 2/3rds of my usual rides are COVID positive and the last has work doing tax prep, so I need to get home on my own. Problem is, I waited a solid 1 hour and 30 minutes for a ride and got absolutely nothing! It was so bad that I was essentially waiting for the remaining ride's shift to end to get home, defeating the purpose of calling. Called and reserved a pickup eight hours in advance. At time of pickup , had not arrived. So I called and was told they were searching for a driver. 50 minutes later still had not shown up. We had to get a neighbor to take us before we missed our flight. I would suggest calling another service if you have some place to be at a certain time. read more

After the driver in cab #502 refused to take me to my destination on the non toll bridge adjacent to the north bound i65 bridge for an extra charge of $4.50 I asked the next cab in line who also refused even though I showed them on the map the toll free route. I then called the dispatcher who answered and wanted to know why I was calling her and asked me to use another cab service, insisting I should give my business to the second rude driver and wanted nothing to hear about what a shoddy rude outfit they are running there. She began to talk really fast and then hung up on me!! I have never come across something this crazy disguised as running a business before and hope I will never have to run into it again. Now it gets even more interesting because Yellow Cab has an **exclusive** contract here at the airport and if you don't want to put up with their unfriendly rude service you better have someone else pick you up from there or walk from this remote area to where ever you are headed, with your luggage! read more

I don't get the negative reviews. I've used yellow cab twice and both times, they were there to pick me up within ten minutes of me calling. Both of the drivers were very polite and kind and drove well. A friend of mine also used Yellow Cab when she came in town and she also received prompt, attentive service on both legs of her trip. read more

I only recommend it if you are not a wheelchair user. I have had several issues due to my chair. I don't use them anymore because of it. Unacceptable service, I called one hour in advance and was told that the driver would call me when they were a few minutes from my location. So after the driver was already 15 minutes late I had to call them for an update and was told we don't know where the driver is and just to keep waiting. I ended having to drive myself to the airport and now will have to pay for 12 days of airport parking. Don't even bother with Yellow Cab in Louisville. Absolutely terrible service and management could care less about resolving the issues. Here are elements form written communication I sent to Yellow Cab twice to resolve the issue. No such luck!! Want to share my poor experience so others don't make my mistake. Google them for other more serious issues they have had... I was in Louisville for business staying at the Galt House and was flying out of the Louisville Airport on 10/27/2012. I inquired about Yellow Cab rates on line and saw that their flat rate was approximately $19.55 (see information from their website below) to travel to the airport from downtown. On 10/26/2012, I called dispatch and reserved a cab at 7:27pm. I spoke to their dispatcher and reserved a cab at 3:30am on 10/27/12 to pick me up at the Galt House and go to the Louisville Airport. I inquired the rate again and was told $20.00. I was asked cash or credit by the dispatcher and reserved the cab using a credit card. At no point was I told there would be an extra charge for using credit card and I went to bed that evening anticipating I would have a flawless trip to the Louisville airport to return home. My cell phone rang at 3:16 AM as I was getting ready and it was the taxi cab driver calling. I answered the phone again at 3:22 AM and the cab driver wanted to know where I was. I answered I reserved the cab for 3:30am and would be down shortly. He replied he was in cab #419. The number he called me from is 502.xxx.xxxx. I met the cab driver at 3:30am. He asked me if I was heading to Lexington! I replied not to Lexington but to the Louisville airport. I became concerned that I had the wrong cab and he assured me we would head to the Louisville Airport. Once we arrived at the airport the driver parked at the curb, popped the trunk, and stated charge would be $20.00. I handed him my credit card. He became extremely irate and said cash only. I repeated that I reserved the cab with credit card and would only pay that way. ( I travel with my job and garner points/mileage on my cards.) He showed me his dispatch screen and yelled "right here it says cash." I responded "just like I was supposed to go to Lexington!?!?!?!" The driver stated it would now be $25. I exited the cab and got my bag from the trunk. Your driver came around the taxi and asked why I got my bag. I secured my bag first as losing a credit card is no big deal if he kept it. (I would simply cancel it and bill Yellow Cab for any charges incurred.) The driver was extremely upset and confrontational that I got my bag and refused to pay with cash. I stated to run the card for $25 even though the charge is $20 so I can go home. He then gave me a half-completed receipt for $25. He stepped towards me and I stated that would be a poor mistake if he continued towards me. I told him to simply return my card. With great reluctance he provided both my credit card and receipt. I watched the authorization charges this week and waited to send this email until the charges were finalized. So imagine my surprise when I now have a charge from your company for $30. I did not pay/authorize a tip and on the receipt given by the driver it states $25 for the services rendered which was above the approved rate of $20. (Please see attached PDF that has original receipt and final charges from your company.) What should have been a simple flawless routine transaction has occupied additional amounts of my time and now will occupy your time as well. The Yellow Cab website states you provide safe reliable transportation. The actions of your cab, #419, failed to meet and exceed that written promise. Website rates: Airport to Downtown -- Downtown to Airport * Downtown Flat Rate Zone: $19.55 * For all trips originating at the Louisville International Airport and having a destination other than a private residence shall be the meter unless the meter fare plus all additional charges is less than $9.95, then a maximum flat rate of $9.95 may be charged. * An additional charge of $3.00 per passenger beginning with the 5th passenger may be added. * No stops between Airport to Downtown or Downtown to Airport Sent second written communication and still nothing from Yellow Cab... My husband and I were in town for a long weekend staying at a B&B in Old Louisville. We use cabs regularly at home and while traveling, so we have basic expectations. This company met none of them. We called for a cab on a Friday night to take us to Doc Crows on Whiskey Row for dinner (which was great by the way). It was about 7:00 when we called. Long story short, we finally get a cab over an hour later. The first cabbie misheard the address, ok, honest mistake. Says he'll send someone right over. We wait. We call again. We wait. We call again. Meanwhile 5 other cabs drive by. We finally hail one, who was not actually sent to get us, but another fare, who takes pity on us and picks us up. Thank goodness. I'd give this company a zero if I could. Cab number 612 was driving aggressively on I65N at approximately 1:15pm. Tailgating & speeding we're involved. Getting to the appropriate person to file a complaint was grueling. Finally, after pulling my car to an exit & while writing this review, I spoke with a representative regarding this manner. All I wanted was for someone to contact the driver, tell her drive more courteous, & remind her that she is in a numbered company car not her personal car. One time a really nice and generous asshole driver picked me from a bar that I was unfamiliar with, drove me around the block, and we ended up back at the bar when he heard me talking on the phone about how I hoped I had enough cash because I didn't want to use my card. Even though he told me he took cards. He obviously didn't want to pay the $.30 it costs to swipe my Visa. So I paid my last 10 dollars cash to be kicked out behind the bar, downtown at 3am all alone. He generously made me pay. I should have generously kicked him in the balls but my balance was to be desired. A Russian lady walked by me and I was visibly distraught about being abandoned drunk on the sidewalk. She insisted I take $50 to take a cab home, and wouldn't leave until I accepted her gift. Try as I might I couldn't get ahold of another cab, despite calling every 20 minutes. Two hours later a trusty friend was able to get me home. Thanks to Yellow cab and a kind Russian lady, I made a $30 profit that night. That's why I am rating you a generous 1 star. I'd rather pay a stay at home soccer mom through Lyft. I would be more inclined to take a cab in the day than at night. Especially alone. But still, ride sharing over cabs in Louisville any day. read more

Called dispatch, quoted under 25 min til arrival. Cabby called me 3 minutes later to say he'd be there within 10 mins. He was. He greeted me by name, and was very courteous. Ride home at 3:20 AM: not so reliable. Called at 3, still no word at 3:25 after being quoted 25 mins. Saw another cab after waiting 35 mins and took it. Called to cancel. Was tired, hungry, and from Jersey (not accustom to slow service.) Next day: Called dispatch for a ride to a bar, quoted 15 mins, driver got there in 10 minutes. So, it seems they are better earlier on. Hailed a cab outside the bar to get home. Moral of the story (and reason for the 3rd star,) use this service for a ride out at night, then look for and hail a cab outside to get home. As long as you are on a fairly busy street with entertainment, you'll find plenty of cabs. read more

I work at a Dr. office and I had an elderly man that I called for a ride at 3:30pm and then called back in about and hour and they were rude about why they hadn't picked him up. I called back again in about 20 more minutes and then they tried to say they lost his requested then said there would be some on here in about 7 mins it was another 15 minutes before they showed up. Making it a total of 1 hour and 45 minutes I was standing out there watching for them. The lady pulled in and parked then started to leave with out him. On 12/6/20 at approximately 9:30am, I observed a Yellow Cab (License no. 160WVP on Watterson 264E refuse to yield merging traffic, nearly hitting an Amazon Delivery Van and then tried to intimidate the driver by swerving toward the van, then pulling in front of the van and putting on his brakes. The driver then headed toward the 65N Ramp at speeds in excess of 80mph (likely greater than 90mph). I understand these are stressful times but it is absolutely unacceptable behavior. I must say I have encountered a plethora of transportation services, and from an average point ; all have been very successful and comfortable until I discovered the Yellow Cab company. Through my experiences since day one, I have been disrespected, taking advantage of by cab drivers. Whom are not honest about the fare cost ( which is expected from this company) and take extended routes to increase their income ( Cheaters basically ). I would not recommend Yellow Cab to anyone. The Respect and "customer friendly" status is very very low . I have taken Yellow Cab only on desperate occasions - which I always question myself about, because the cab drivers are never on time. For example, Today I had an important engagement to attend to, I was on a time crunch. Yellow Cab was already assigned to pick me up. The cab driver was an hour late - which by this I wasn't suprised, but I was extremely disappointed. After a" lovely" wait, he arrives. Long story short, I make to my appointment. The same guy picks me up from my previous destination ( I asked myself "why"?). I live 20 min away - but because he felt the need to stretch his miles (for financial reasons I am assuming). It took 3 hours for me to get home, because he wanted to pick up more passengers and although I voiced many times ''To take me home'"he continued to ignore my request ,blame the company and pick up other passengers (to include disabled, non-verbal adults who had no option but ride) The appointment I had to attend was medical related, so my insurance was paying for the fare. I am disable and at the time I had my cane with me, so in my opinion due to the appearance of my cane he took advantage of that situation ( which is not also not safe). read more

I only take cabs from my house to the airport and back home as I travel about 15 times a year for work. Every single time I have used Yellow Cab instead of driving and parking and every time has been great. Make sure to call ahead of time to schedule your pickup or else that's on you. Even 5/6 hours in advance works fine. Every single time they are at my house on time and usually they are a little bit early. They always call when they are a few minutes away or if they get there early and just want you to know they are there. When they are early they sit and wait and don't seem annoyed while waiting. They all take credit cards but for now I took one star off because they are so far behind on technology (although this is Kentucky so what else is new) that they don't have card readers in the back that you run yourself. If they add those I'll come back and bump them to five stars. read more

Called for a cab from the bar land line at closing time. They asked what phone number the cab could reach me at when they were on their way. I told dispatch that the bar is closing and there is no way to reach me. She said, "So how is the driver supposed to know you're there?" Well, I'm calling you from here, aren't I? Absolutely unreliable, I called the night before to set up a cab ride to the airport. I called 15 mins prior to make sure that my wife and I would be picked up in time and I was informed that no driver had accepted ride. At the fine of the pickup no driver showed so I called again and was told again that no driver had picked up the ride and that he would call me back in 10 mins to update me. They left me with a since of who knows if someone will accept our ride so I had to go to plan B and drive ourselves to the airport and pay the long term parking. Left cell phone in cab... driver stole in. I tracked it instantly after exciting the cab with track my iphone as the cab was driving away. The driver shut the phone off and dispatchers wouldn't send the driver back. Had to report it through the police and city services and the driver has been nothing but confused on what happened after he dropped me off. On 2/18/2022, I requested a cab and the cab driver from Hell arrived. She didn't use her navigation system, music up too high, and busy on her phone making repeated calls holding a cellphone in her left hand for the complete trip. She got lost and still didn't get off the phone. When we finally arrived at Massage Envy, she forgot to turn the meter on for the entire trip; so now she is making up a price to include her getting lost: $12.95 instead of the regular amount: $8.75 trip. Immediately on the same day, I reported all to Yellow Cab and they said Yellow Cab Management will get back in touch with me about the complaint. Look at today's date, Yellow Cab Management never got back in touch with me and I have reached out to Yellow Cab. Everytime I call them they always say that no supervisor is available and transfer you to a nonexistent voicemail. Once you are transferred, the call disconnects on you. Yellow Cab is the absolute worst cab service in the world. My experience is living in Louisville Kentucky. You are better off using Uber or Lyft or better than that- purchase a new car. Was visiting Louisville on business and took a cab from downtown to the airport. Ride was fine but upon arriving I have to pay by card for business reasons and he said "don't you have cash"? He got so unpleasant and took the card and I asked for a receipt and he said it would be emailed. Never got an email (big surprise). Anyway, dropped off the car and signed the paperwork and walked out of there. Louisville drivers I soon realized dont always stop at crosswalks for pedestrian right of way. Got picked up at the Oxmoor Mall on Shelbyville rd. Driver is slow going 30 in a 45 zone. Next, I got out went to IHOP later called this service again to get me home to my apartment. worst cab service ever. i have YET to have a good experience. ive used yellow cab many many times and now i refuse. last experience: i got in the cab to be greeted by a white shopping bag in the back seat. i pick it up, open it and see bottles of alcohol. cab says something about someone stopped at the store and bought it for him. makes no sense. he then snatches it out of my hand. at this point im incredibly uncomfortable so i asked if it was better i get out of the car. so the a**hole pulls over in the middle of nowhere downtown and tells me to get out. moral of the story. even the cab drivers are drunk and need a ride. dont use this company. ps.. the new cab driver (yellow cab again, not by choice) allowed me to use his cell phone to call the main switch board and the woman I spoke with was incredibly rude after her i told her what happened. This was hands down the most terrifying cab ride I've ever had... anywhere! I really wish I could say I'm exaggerating. Granted, it was Derby day, and they were understandably busy, but that is no excuse for the behavior of our driver displayed. First of all, we were given a wait time of 30 minutes. An hour later no one showed, and when calling back they said we were not in their system. About 45 minutes later our cab finally arrived. We get in and immediately explained we wanted to be dropped off at the back of Churchill, not up front as usual - hoping to avoid some of the traffic if possible. I guess he was too busy trying to make a call on his iPhone and running stop signs to listen. If he did stop at a sign or light it was by slamming on his brakes last minute and nearly rear ending someone. About 5-6 blocks from the front entrance of Churchill he pulls into a gas station to drop us off. We explained we wanted to be dropped off where we had requested, or at least as close as possible, which is why we told him first thing to help him accommodate. He refused, and at that point arguing ensued and some words were exchanged. Eventually, he turns left out of the gas station into the wrong lane with oncoming traffic. He then flies through the narrow streets full of parked cars, running stop signs, almost hitting other cars, whipping around and almost hitting the pedicabs... He actually grazed a pedestrian crossing at a crosswalk while screaming for him to move and honking his horn! Luckily the guy jumped out of the way enough to not be seriously injured. At that point we told him to stop and let us out. He takes our payment (with no tip, obviously... First time I have never tipped a cab driver) and tells us to "just get out." Whoever it was driving #437 on Derby day should be arrested for wreckless driving. It was a miracle we weren't in an accident or caused another accident, and that no one got hurt. I pray that anyone who has the misfortune to ride with him in the future makes it out safely. read more

I called for a taxi. I was asked if I would be paying with cash or a credit card. I said credit card. The woman that just asked said "ok." I was sent a cab that did not have the ability to accept a credit card. I didn't find this out until I arrived at my destination. Had to spend more time looking for an ATM to pay driver. There are other cab companies in Louisville with state of the art technology, or dispatchers that listen to you (I said I was paying with credit card), or at least the ability to take credit cards for payment. We called Yellow Cab after discovering no Uber cars were available. I was concerned because we had not allowed extra time and we had four people with luggage going to the airport. The dispatcher was helpful and said to call back in 10 minutes to check on where the taxi was. The taxi arrived in about 10 minutes. It was large enough for all of us and our big bags. Called when I asked what my fare would be for a long trip crabwise using the addresses he said I don't know and hung up on me. Wonder service.Lol this company was the only service in town for too long now their rude and ripoff attitude will sink their boat. I have never had any problems with this service until today ! I called a cab at 10:03 and at 10:58 I called to see where it was and no answer. I call again to get another cab at 12:40 because I really need to get to work. The lady on the phone was nice, apologized and scheduled me for another pick up. It is now 1:52 and no cab has appeared and once again no one is answering their phones. Smh. Im so pissed right now. I would not recommend using this cab service. read more
