Just had the worst taxi experience of my life in cab 105. First he refused to use the meter as soon as we told him we are going to a restaurant close by. He claimed that his meter stopped working and turned it off. Then when we asked him to go to the next restaurant 5 minutes away he pulled a fare of $25 out of thin air. When I asked to pay with a credit card his credit machine "stopped working". This is why Uber is going to kill all other taxi services and the world will be a better place without Yellow Cab. read more

They deserve zero but it wouldnt let me post... We rode in cab 104 in tempe. He actually called the cops on me and when i tried to pay he would not accept the payment because it was a credit card (which he originally agreed too). The cops had to contact my friends who agreed to also pay the fee and they would not take payment over the phone. The cops were very nice and gave them our address to come and get money from. The man driving the cab was hostile on arrival, very rude, and not cooperative. He kept my wallet and would not return it. This is why cab services will not succeed much longer. My experience with yellow cab this weekend was absolutely atrocious. My company paid plenty of money to have these cabs take us home. Leon whom was in charge of delegating who would get in what cab decided that our group would be best to take a van. We agreed and stepped aside. After waiting for a van for over 30 mins while we watched a parade of others get in cabs and go home we suggested that we split into 2 cabs, Leon refused. After threatening to writing this review he then conceded to my request and got us along our way. This all would have been avoided by Leon not being in charge of this operation. Considering that several thousand people were taking these cabs I don't believe that he would be the best person to represent the customer service that yellow cab has. read more

It is hard to imagine a less competent transportation service. I have been using yellow cab for over a year for medical transport and let me tell you every interaction is a bad one. It starts with their dispatch if they aren't placing you on hold for half an hour they are hanging up on you. When you do finally talk to someone they almost never know how to help you. One call resolution means nothing to this company. Then there's the drivers a diverse group to be sure many of them terrible. I like to keep a tally of all the times my driver has cancelled my without even showing up, so far it's 5 by the way. If you're lucky they will show up on time and call you once, usually while driving away and cancelling your call. Truly an awful awful service. Horrible service!!!! Called 24 hours in advance for wheelchair cab. They were half hour early, not good when you have a handicap person going to a doctor visit. After the doctor visit, I called for a pick up, waited over 2.5 hours and they still said it would be another hour. Horrible, worse service ever!!!! We used to use this company a lot, but in the recent 3 weeks, things have been horrible. We need to call 2-3 times to put ourselves back into their system, because the cab drivers will pickup our ticket....then immediately cancel it--- or will say 'Oh, I was waiting there 5 minutes and no one came out!'---except we were waiting outside, looking like vultures and saw /no cab/ at all, let alone a yellow cab. Then there was the time we got into this cab and there was this condescending message attached to the passenger chair's back. 'NO FREE RIDES' 'NO VOUCHERS' (Can he even legally do that?), '5$ MINIMUM!' (Once again, that's not their 'flag drop rate', it's like this guy thought he was king of the company/taxi laws.). I didn't fit any of those things, but it was damn insulting to my intelligence to read it. While the drivers tend to be polite and courteous, the issues we've been having made us switch to a different company. read more

I had to take a few cabs while my car was in the shop since I'm not a fan of riding the bus, These people are every kind of rude, mean & hateful..for no reason at all.. I treat ppl with kindness, I treat people the way I need to be treated... in this case it doesn't matter how pleasantly nice you are there's always a dozen a*holes in route! (I've had a few drivers who were absolutely humble And down to earth) & With Yellow Cab that's very rare. Some of the ppl in dispatch are bad as the drivers!!!!!!! We were heading to the airport to catch our flight. Driver arrived 25 minutes late from the time we asked for (5pm). Called dispatch 5 times, first time at 5:02 and was told the cab was 4 minutes away, then each subsequent time (about 5 min intervals) being told the cab is less than a minute away. Asked if I could contact the driver directly because maybe the driver was lost. Was told that would not be possible. Asked if they could send another driver - also not possible. We waited at the concierge of our complex , directly at the front gate in view of the intercom. Received a call from dispatch at 522pm telling us the driver needs a gate code, yet we were standing at the gate and there was no driver. We finally cross paths with the driver at approximately 530pm. He apologized to us and tells us he did not know where to pick us up as dispatch did not tell him which building we were in (although we told dispatch we were at the concierge at the gate). Later, driver tells us he went into the complex through the back gate (there is no intercom/gate keypad there). If this is true, then he snuck in as another resident car entered the complex. 5 minutes into the ride, the driver starts playing hip hop/rap music for first 10 minutes. Turns up the volume and blasts the music for the remaining 20 minutes. If we were in a better mood from the taxi being on time, we may have grooved and jammed to the music. read more

If I could give them a zero I would give them a -10. They SUCK. I had a car problem and attempted to get a ride for almost two hours and they had a Lordy excuse each time I called. Then I asked to speak to a manager and she put me hold for 20 minutes before I hung up the phone. She had no intention at all of talking to me. I would never use them. They are the sorriest bunch!!!! Tonight I was in a cab that almost caused several accidents because he was busy playing Pokeman Go. I called the cab company to let them know he is an accident waiting to happen and they informed me they would tell their supervisor. Why not get him off the road immediately???? My family and I were heading out on vacation for a couple of weeks and scheduled a Yellow Cab to pick us up from our house to take us to the airport. I reserved a mini-van as we had considerable luggage and two small kids. Everything was set for a 6:30 AM pick-up. Needless to say these guys are horrible. Here's a summary of events: 6:40 - Called Yellow Cab because the cab we reserved had not arrived at our house. I'm told that the driver is running late and will be there in 5 minutes. 6:46 - Driver still not there. Called Yellow Cab and am informed that nobody is en route and they don't know when a driver will be available to pick us up. Two things wrong with this. One, I had a reservation. Two, the previous dispatcher told me someone was on there way and would be there in five minutes. I ask Chris to secure a cab for me and call me back in five minutes to let me know when they will be at my house. 6:57 - I call Yellow Cab again. No cab. No return phone call from Chris (the dispatcher). At this point we are going to miss our flight if we don't jump in our car and head to the airport. 7:00 - I pack up my car, put the car seats back in my car, load up the family, and start heading to the airport. 7:07 - I call Yellow Cab to talk to a supervisor. I'm put on hold for ten minutes. I hang up because I'm tired of waiting. 7:18 - I decide to give Yellow Cab one more chance to explain themselves. I also expect them to pay for my parking bill at the airport which will be about $250. The dispatcher informs me that a supervisor will not be at work until after 8:00. So why was I not told this when I called previously? Why was I on hold for ten minutes? 8:16 - I call looking for a supervisor. I'm given the cell phone number for someone named Rob. I call the number and a guy named Jesus answers. He explains that he's a supervisor for the drivers and not for dispatch. Tells me I need to talk to someone in dispatch. 8:21 - I call again looking for a supervisor. I'm given someone's voicemail. I leave a message and yet nobody returns my call. 1:40 - I call again. I'm placed on hold. Yellow Cab hangs up on me after 13 minutes of being on hold. 1:54 - I call again. I inform dispatch that I will filing a law suit against Yellow Cab for the costs incurred as a result of their negligence. I leave a name and number and suggest that someone call me back to resolve the matter. So.... that's where we're at. This has got to be one of the worst companies I've ever seen. I have never had such a bad experience with a taxi cab company anywhere in the world. I just purchased a Senior Discount Taxi card that allows you to get $60 worth of cab fare for a reduced rate. Sounds great, doesn't it? I called Yellow Cab last Wednesday early evening and requested a Thursday morning pick up at 8:15am. The cab was on time and I even got to my aqua therapy a little early. I thought I had solved my transportation problems since this was less expensive than Uber or lift. When I got out of therapy an hour later, I called Yellow Cab and requested a ride home. Forty minutes later I called them back. We don't have any drivers in your neighborhood at the moment, was what they told me. My next call was 30 minutes later. We have no record of your request, was the answer I got, but we will send a driver right away. In all, I waited 2and a half hours sitting out in the hot sun in the center of Scottsdale. After 4 phone calls, I asked them to please issue me some credit. Nothing doing. I finally cancelled the Yellow Cab and called an Uber. While I was in the Uber. my phone rang This is the Yellow Cab driver, I can't find you. Take my advice. Don't ever use Yellow Cab!!! read more

Booked online for an 8:15 a.m. ride to the airport. The site gave me a confirmation number. At 8:18 a.m., we called in, and an automated message said a cab had been assigned and was on its way. At 8:30 a.m., we called in again and noticed that the automated message said that "cab zero" was assigned, which didn't sound good, so we spoke with a human who said that the online submission had not specified a regular or special cab. I was pretty sure I had specified "regular cab"--but if there was some uncertainty, why not call me at the phone number provided, before the time I was expecting a ride? We ended up having to drive to the airport and park in short-term parking for a week in order to catch our flight. Discount Cab, by contrast, has always shown up reliably on time when booked via their website, and I will use them from now on. read more

I called yesterday to reserve a cab for 5:15am this morning to take my husband to the airport. It never showed up. I called, they said they had not dispatched a cab yet, and had none in my area (22 miles from the airport). No apology from them, no explanation. So I ended up throwing on my clothes and booking with him to the airport so he wouldn't miss his plane. This is the most unprofessional company I have dealt with in a long time. Took a cab from Sky Harbor to Old Town. The driver didn't speak English very well and tried to take me up the freeway. I told him to go up 64th he said that was the long way. He said I was wrong and he knew how to go that the freeway was the fastest. It's not it's about $10 dollars more. As we got off the 202 at Scottsdale rd. made the driver drop me at the Dennys and called Discount Cab. They saved the day. read more

I was leaving to go on a cruise and had to catch a flight I was very clear when I requested the cab that I could not be late ironically it showed up 35 minutes late I ended up calling discount cab and they showed up in only a few minutes discount cab saved my cruise. . After waiting a total of 50 minutes, we called again and were told they were having trouble dispatching a cab because we were kind of far... so after 50 minutes, there wasn't a cab even on the way!!!! I accidentally left my keys in the cab and it was the biggest nightmare ever getting my keys back. I called the dispatcher and they refused to give me the drivers cell phone number and they told me they were going to call the driver and that "If the driver has the keys he will bring them to me at the airport". Finally after calling several people they told me that the driver said he found the keys and was returning them to the lost and found. This is where the nightmare started. I called several times after that and spoke with several people to see if my keys were ever returned. I kept getting bounced around from person to person each person telling me when I described them that the keys were nowhere to be found. Finally somebody told me that they found my keys and were writing my name "David" on a sticky and putting them in a safe place. My fears were resolved. I got back to Phoenix and they offered to drive the keys to me but in exchange I would have to pay the cab fare (which I had no problem doing). I agreed to this but first they made me fax all sorts of documents and pictures of my credit cards. This was a huge headache. When it was all done they told me a driver will be at my house within an hour with the keys. The driver finally shows up and it's the wrong keys!!!! I called back Triple A and they refused to talk to me or answer any questions and were now very rude to me on the phone. I told them that I wanted to email them a picture of exactly what my keys looked like and if they could just go through again and match the picture with the keys, it would help me out knowing that they had my keys and I won't have to waste a bunch of money on a cab to drive out there. They refused and told me I would have to come myself. I finally called up a different cab company (because they were rude to me on the phone, I wasn't going to give them any more of my business) and had Vip Taxi drive me out to Triple A Yellow Cab to go on the hunt for my keys. I got to the Triple A Yellow cab and their lost and found was a complete mess. They had sunglasses, phones, keys, credit cards, and drivers licenses all in a big box. It took 15 minutes for one of the higher ups but he found my keys. Now why couldn't I have just emailed them my picture and they could have gone through the keys until they found mine? This is what my mom calls "Penny wise but pound foolish". They might have thought I was wasting their time and that I spent enough of their time already thus they ended the call, but now they've lost a customer for life. It took me an hour and a half to get home from work this morning.I work at St Lukes Medical Center at 1800 e. Van Buren and was sitting on the wall out side the main entrance where the flagpole is.Nothing could be simpler.I don't have a cell phone.So I had to periodically go back in and use the phone at the front desk. I was told the driver said I wasn't there.I was the ONLY person in sight.The driver and I couldn't possibly have missed each other.I called about five times.I use this company several times a week to get home (about 4 miles) and usually it takes no longer than ten minutes to be picked up.As the time stretched on,the employees became increasingly rude and eventually kept hanging up on me.I finally called another company when one of triple A's drivers finally showed up. This driver was sitting outside our hotel in Old Town Scottsdale so we jumped in and gave him the address .. The guy did not turn on his meter and the ride was $3.00 more than the ride back , which was in a Green Discount Cab taxi, with a meter turned on ! Not only did he add in his tip but he also dropped us off a block away from the address we gave him . Very slimy feeling and based on other comments it appears we are not alone . DON'T BELIEVE THE BIG SIGNS ON TOP OF THEIR CABS!!!! There is a huge sign on the cabs that says $15 for up to 10 miles. If you are coming from the airport.....they do not honor that. They say there is a tag line that says "call for details." However, standing in the cab line at Phoenix Sky Harbor, you do not have time to "call for details." What the details are: Ignore that sign...we don't mean it. I questioned the driver BEFORE I got into the cab....First he said to "ignore" the sign, then it was $1.50 for every mile over. I said fine. On top of the initial mixup, the driver was so unpleasant that we felt uncomfortable in the cab. I travel extensively and try to engage the driver beyond just giving my destination. When I asked him where he was from (as he clearly had a European accent...which is no problem with me) he very rudely said "here." He then muttered something I could not here. I live 10 miles from the airport and was charged $26 + change. When I left him $30 (I only had 3 $10's, he complained I didn't leave him a big enough tip. I immediately called the cab company and they were very gracious in apologizing for the attitude of their driver, but stood by the fact that we didn't call for details. Horrible, awful service. Was told a cab would be at my house in 20-25 mins. Called back after 30 to find that the driver had gotten lost, and so drove off to another pickup. Nobody shared that info with us. Was told that another cab would be along in 15 mins. Called after 20 minutes had passed to find that there was no cab designated for us. To top all that off, everyone we spoke to on the phone was rude, and sounded as though we were inconveniencing them. read more

Called for a cab from the hospital, but instead of 15 minutes, waited almost an hour. Claimed there was some mixup. When the cab did come, the driver drove past the front area I was waiting and almost left the area. Had to run after him. DId not open the door either at the start of the trip or the end of the trip. AC was running, but felt like the heater was on in 90+degree weather. Would not recommend to anyone. Triple AAA should be renamed Triple ZZZ. read more

I only live about 15 minutes from the airport, so typically a cab is the easiest way to get home without hassling someone to pick me up. I got into the cab and saw a credit card machine which was good because I only had $24 on me. I told this to the cab driver and he got onto the freeway informed me that the machine doesn't always work, but if it doesn't I'll take you to the closest ATM.... As a girl, it's not the most comfortable situation, getting cash while a cab driver is waiting in the car... with your belongings! Unfortunately the cab fare was $28 and the machine wasn't working... so there I was at the ATM. It ended up not being the most convenient options since it added about 15 minutes onto my trip and the $2.50 ATM fee. The driver was nice, the cab was clean, but don't advertise that you take CC and not have the machine work! read more

So, after a night out my friends and I played it safe and took a taxi home, leaving my car by Acme. The next morning, I had several appointments to attend to, and thus I called yellow cab to get a ride back to my car. I called at 9:50 am on Wednesday morning. When my cab hadn't showed up by 10:20, I called to find out what's up, and was told that the taxi hadn't been dispatched yet. Like, really? 30 minutes? Really? Its not like its sunday morning, its wednesday! She apologized and said it would be ten minutes. I'm now in a time crunch. 15 more minutes go by...it's now been 45 minutes since I ordered the taxi! I could have walked there by now! I called another cab company all together, and they showed up in 3 minutes. 3. I cancelled my cab with yellow cab and will never call them again. read more
