I called the night before to schedule my pick up, they were very nice and professional even when I rescheduled the next morning. I regret I didn't get the driver's name but very courteous and put my luggage in the vehicle. Not very chatty but very respectful. I was at the St. Joseph Emergency room with my husband of over 30 years. After many hours, many tests, and upsetting news I was told I needed to leave according to policy. It was 1:30 a.m. and I am an elderly woman. Luckily I found the number for Yellow Cab. A kind young man in cab #7 was there within minutes. He was so nice and patient. I have no way of knowing if he is abiding by company policy by refusing all info I wanted about where their office is located. I haven't ridden Yellow Cab in decades. I want to know where their main office is. He is the only dispatcher who answers the phone. He didn't state his name and I didn't bother to ask it, however he obviously knew another language than English. If I could give a negative rating I would do it. The worst service never experienced because the driver never showed up. I assisted a stranger who was waiting on a cab to take him to hospital for surgery. He had called this company multiple times they did not show up. I tried calling. Receptionist told me she would call me back never did. I tried calling back and they hung up on me. A coworker had to drive this man to hospital for his surgery and he was late for check in. Stressful and bad experience for everyone because this company could not follow through on their service. Run or walk away from this service! I was recently at St. Francis hospital in Federal Way, and a nurse called for a Yellow Cab for me to take home. The dispatcher told her it was going to be 40 to 50 minutes, and I was discharged to await the cab. After waiting more than 90 minutes, I contacted the cab company to find out if they had an estimated time of arrival. The dispatcher, whom I could barely understand due to a very thick accent, told me all of his drivers were busy in Tacoma and Lakewood and then yelled at me to NOT CALL THEM BACK. Why do cab services have personality-challenged people answering the phone? After slogging through a call to arrange a Yellow Cab, I've cancelled because the dispatcher-lady had the personality of a rock, but with less humanity. That made me worry about whether or not the rest of the ride would be similarly devoid of the milk of human kindness. I haven't lived in Tacoma long, only 5 months. Took the Amtrack to Portland and used yellow cab to take me. Nice driver, right on time, friendly and polite. Coming home, a very untalkative driver who went the wrong way and told me, "I forgot your street is this way." The ride cost me $2.00 more than getting to the train station and he charged me for his wrong turn! I asked why it cost more to come home than to go, same distance but he didn't bother to reply. First the basics.... I left my hotel and quickly hopped in a Yellow Cab headed to my work destination. I arrived quickly and the driver seemed to know how to get there without any trouble (or worse) asking for directions. Why two stars? I've used cabs before while on business and never had trouble using my company credit card. I know they prefer cash, but the reality is I need a receipt and my company asks for us to always use our card. Driver #6025, when presented with the card, simply said Cash Only. My response was to point to the signs in their own cab that indicate they take credit card. Again, the response was simply Cash Only. Fine... Luckily I had some cash to pay, but certainly no tip. Please, just pick me up, take me to my destination and accept my payment (regardless of form). It's not that hard, especially in this day and age. read more

I called to go from University Place to St Joseph's hospital. The driver took a very long route that had him get on the freeway and even though I've only been here for one week, I've been to the hospital enough times to know that all he had to do was go down 19th Street. The driver talked during the entire ride, which really wouldn't have been a big deal if his topics were a little lighter. I told him I was visiting my sick mother and he proceeded to tell me about how his mother died in his arms and then how his mother in law died. He was very preachy. Talking at great lengths about religion. I am not religious and I don't mind people discussing their religion, but I don't like being preached at. Especially not on a ride I am paying for. Wasn't even using their service but was at the gas station when their driver decided he didn't want to wait in his line like everyone else and started honking and driving around erratically. Then whipped into a spot and started yelling at me about how we were all stealing his spots. He then started cussing, talking to himself and then jumped backed into his car and sped out of the station. Three separate customers came up and were talking about how crazy that was and that we should all turn him in since he was obviously unstable. Tried to complain but both the dispatch and leasing company say they aren't responsible for individual drivers. Its funny I read the poor reviews and wonder why I have had consistently good service. I don't drive so there are a few times a year I will take a cab over the long tedious ride on the bus, especially when its raining or my time is needed else where like today. Cab #783 came to pick me up for the airport, and right off had a bad attitude with me after showing up late. Then on the way to SeaTac airport he would drive 5/10 miles under the speed limit. DO NOT use this taxi company! My mom's ride to the hospital was actually good which is why they get one star. However, the ride home was awful! The driver took an extra long route and when my mom called him out on it, he became very rude and had the audacity to throw in the race card. My mom is Korean and has dealt with race issues for many years and that is the last thing she would do to someone else! She has lived in Tacoma for 30 years and is well aware of the commute back to her house. Why not be a great driver and get a nice tip instead of trying to add miles for the ride? Last night was my very first time calling for a cab. I called Yellow Cab because I see them everywhere and it's a very known company. I called requesting a cab, and 10 minutes later the cab driver called me because he couldn't find my house. The driver then argues with me about where he is compared to where I live, he was making it seem I was in the wrong place. I repeated my address numerous times but he was saying I was wrong. I then told him I will find another way to get there. Then dispatch called me saying that he was on the street and to go flag him down. I need to be honest, I have both good and bad experiences with the drivers and dispatchers. I have a driver who I really like. Tito is his name, respectful, nice, friendly and honest. I really like when I saw that is him when I take a cab. But there are more than one that are bad. I had a awful episode last night when I took a cab from Tacoma Dome Station to my house around 9:50 pm. The guy was ok until we got home. I gave him my card and he asked me if I didn't have any cash instead. I said no and he was quiet. He took my card and tried it. To me was approved but he got a message "out of coverage". He took my card again and same message. He then start calling to the company and I was checking my bank account. The charge was there 11.75. I showed it to him but he said he didn't get any money. The guy on the phone told him that it was his computer problem and not customer card problem. He told him they would take care of it but the driver was not happy and didn't want me to leave. I showed my bank account again and told him it was late and I needed to go home because I need to wake up early to go to work again. He yelled at me saying that I didn't want to pay him. Very nice guy... Then, I called to the company and he was still mad. They were trying to make him understand the problem, but he was dumb enough to understand. All he was saying was that he was not being paid. He told the guy on the phone he tried my card once but it was twice. My bank account just showed one payment at that time. Finally the woman who I was talking with, told me to put my card number in a piece of paper with the expiration date that they would check it to him the following morning. It was the only way to make he let me leave. I did it (now I know that I should not give my card number but I was nervous) and wrote down 11.75 in that paper. I also told her that I would be mad if they use my information to charged me again. She said it would not happen and that she was going to address this problem to the accountant Cristina. Finally I got of the cab with the driver saying sorry. First I wanted to not pay him and then sorry. Great customer service. What a surprise this morning. Checking on my bank account... I was charged twice. Called them right away and the dispatcher told me that Cristina is going to call me back today. Well I am waiting. First thing, the company should hire better drivers, well educated ones and who speaks a better English. If you live in this country it is the minimum you need to work. Called for a cab twice to go to hospital - waited hours - nothing. Had my assistant followup on what happened to cab. Clerk stated that two cabs were dispatched but client didn't answer phone. Assistant said, "let's just say, perhaps there was a mechanical issue with the phone and it didn't ring" (there's not) but NOT to assign blame - punk got smart and said, "well, if she would answer her phone instead of calling, she might get a cab." Yesterday my double amputee husband got a ride from St. Joe's Hospital to Fife, this was around 3 AM, he knocked on my door but I was alone and wasn't expecting my husband to come home from the hospital for another 2 days. I couldn't hear what he said as our two little dogs were so noisy. I was scared and called the police who told me to lock myself in the bathroom til they could get an officer out here. This nice cab driver did not give up on my husband, he told him " I am staying here with you til we get you into your home" Eventually security, police and my son showed up and then I realized it was my husband coming home from the hospital. A huge thank you to the cab driver who was so kind to my husband and so very patient and understanding that I was too scared to open the door in the middle of the night. In downtown Seattle I attempted to walk 6 blocks to a lite rail station in the downtown area to travel to the airport; however recent foot surgery made walking on the uneven sidewalks impossible. A hotel clerk called me a Yellow Cab, it arrived within 10 minutes, however, when the driver heard I wanted to only drive a few blocks to the rail station he made up a BS story on how he couldn't drop me off at the nearby station. He drove me past 3 stations to the end of the line to maximize his fare. Then complained about his tip..... No Class..... read more
