So, today I needed to be work at 2:30. I called yellow cab at 1:30pm asking for someone to come get me because my ride to work fell through. I gave them my address and they said, "Okay, no problem. He's on his way." 2pm passes and I call them. they say he showed up and no one was there and yet I got no call so that was a lie obviously as protocol is that once there, they call you. anyone who has taken a cab before knows this... so they say, "Okay, well he's just right down the street from you and will be there soon." so, i wait until 2:10 (as it takes at least 20 minutes to get to my job via car) and he STILL hadn't showed up so i call them again and let them know i was upset and that i shouldn't have to be late and the dispatcher says, "Ma'am, don't worry, i'll fix the issue for you. I just cancelled your ride. [Click]" Thankfully my boss was understanding and told me to just call in when I complained that on principle, i should not be paying a cab company to get me to work late (as this was no cheap ride either. i work in another city). Although I'm glad I am not fired, never in my life have i experienced such horrible service and I will never support this company ever again. My advice: Go with Fort Lewis Taxi. They are cheaper anyways. read more

I was working on a website for this company and we had agreed on price of 1500 dollars for the website. The day the website was complete and ready to upload, they told me that my services were no longer needed. I asked for money that was owed me for my work that I had completed and they told me that they were not going to pay anything. Eventually after much discussion and threatening to take them to court over intellectual property theft we came to an agreement that they would pay me 400 dollars now and get the rest to me after tax season. I gave them about a month and a half after April 14th, and called back and I was hung up on once I mentioned that who I was. These guys used to be pretty good but over the last couple of years they have hired all cab drivers who don't really speak English or know where they are going for that matter. I had a driver drive me way out of the way insisting that his GPS was telling him to go that way. Well I don't know about you but I don't have a lot of money for cab rides. I called a can to pick me up at noon and the dispatch lady said ok a driver will b there at noon. The driver called ten minutes later at 11:50am and said he was already there. (Which was good on how fast they get to u) and I told him ok can u wait ten minutes cause I don't get off work till noon, that's why I asked the dispatch lady for a cab driver to b there at noon, not as fast as they could get there cause then they charge u .50 for every minute they wait. So I told the driver to wait 10 minutes and he said ok. I get off in 5 and I got outside in this cold ass windy ass weather, and he was nowhere to be found. I call the dispatch center back and she says the cabi showed up but I wasn't ready so he left. I'm like can u send someone back out. So she said she'll send him back. After freezing my ass off, He arrived 5 min later. My thing is don't tell me you'll wait 5to10 minutes for me if ur gonna leave. Wtf. If I wanted wait for a cab when I got off work, I wouldn't have called in advance. That really pissed me off. But other then that I got to my destination pretty fast even though he went a little bit of a longer way, he took 2 dollars off. That was coo. I've been waiting for two hours for a cab that was supposed to be 20 mins away.. I called back to get an eta, and got yelled at by the operator. I was nice and she exploded Told me i gave them the wrong phone number and or don't answer my phone.. they put in my phone number wrong and or just never called and never showed up. If i were to yell at customers where i work I'd be fired on the spot. I've gone through them before and know that they never give a real eta. Usually wait a hour or so. Never using them again. They make you wait hours or just plain don't show up. And have really horrible customer service. Won't recommend ever. Only giving a star because its making me do it to write a review. read more

I called 2 other taxi companies first, the same man answering for both, opium den music going in the background, answered the phone like Cheech & Chong! Yellow cab was far better: the dispatcher Crissy (sp?) was very friendly & professional. I was irritated at the earlier calls to the other taxi companies but Crissy was great, assuring me of the professionalism of their company & drivers. The driver that picked me up at 6 am was indeed very friendly & professional. He was clean, his taxi was clean, & he spoke understandable English. I was having him drop me off at the train station but I hadn't checked the station hours in advance & would have to wait outside in the dark for approximately 90 minutes before it opened. I'm petite, senior, & female, making me an easy target for the criminal element & this neighborhood's chock full of them, all wide awake even at those hours, milling around the streets. The taxi driver was very concerned about my safety & did not want to drop me off in the dark there, so he suggested I wait a block down the street at a donut shop that opens at 4 am. I was so grateful for that! I was able to wait in a safe place while enjoying coffee & donuts, thanks to the Yellow cab driver that cared enough to speak up. read more

If I could give this company negative stars I would. I had one of the worst experience of my life with this place yesterday. My husband and I took the bus from the airport after our flight and got dropped off at the Tacoma Dome bus station. We decided to call a taxi to take us home since it was really hot and we had a really heavy suitcase. I called Yellow Cab and was told it would be 15 to 30 mins for a cab. After waiting 30 mins I called again. The dispatcher was extremely rude to me. She told me it would be another 15 to 30 mins. We walked across the street to catch the Tacoma Link . After 20 mins the Link came and we never saw our cab come. My husband called while we were waiting to ask again where our cab was. The dispatcher hung up on him. Grade A customer service. It's been over 24 hours and I never received a call from anyone. I'm guessing a cab never came for us. I would NEVER EVER CALL THIS PLACE again!!! Don't waste your time. I got outstanding service from Yellow Cab. I called them to get a ride from University of Puget Sound, where I left the car with my daughter who is starting school there, to my hotel near the SeaTac airport, a 30 minute ride. I called and got a pleasant operator who asked for my phone number and location. I asked her how long it would take for the driver to come and she said to give them 15 minutes. About 7 minutes later, the driver, James, called and said he was almost there. I told him where I was and a minute later, he drove up. He was very friendly but only talked to me when I talked to him, otherwise he left me alone. Sometimes overly chatty cab drivers can be annoying. The cab was clean and comfortable. He had a GPS to tell him where to go and he got me right to my hotel. I will be sure to call James next time I need a cab and will tell my daughter that if she ever needs a ride, she should call this company. read more

Absolutely horrible yesterday I called for a cab so I could be to work at 4:30 I called at 1:58 PM after about an hour and a half I called back and told them that I had been waiting for over an hour and a half and was told that they had gotten busy and downtown and proceeded to tell me that the hospital was releasing patients and that's what was taking so long when I asked how much longer it would be they told me that they didn't know but that they would send somebody after about 30 more minutes I finally called fair West taxi they were there within 10 minutes I never received a phone call from Yellow Cab and nobody ever ended up showing up to my door much less my complex I was never even given an update and new driver ever called my phone to explain to me why they didn't show up... bottom line if you want to get to work on time don't trust Yellow Cab you will not get what you were expecting it's very sad to come with Yellow Cab used to be the company that I would call for all of my right it's not anymore for now on I'm sticking to other companies and lift read more

I waited from 0553 -0704 today (09/30/2014) for a cab I called 3 times. I was transferred to the driver who didn't bother to answer and THEN after being told my cab was 12 blocks away and then waiting another 28 min I called back and was told that my address was never put into the system. Which was a LIE because the 2nd time I called the dispatcher repeated my address to me and IT WAS IN THEIR PHONE SYSTEM PROPERLY WHEN I CALLED THE LAST TWO TIMES!!! I Missed my flight due to LYING and INCOMPETENCE. I don't know about you, but that's not what I look for in a company, and definitely not something I look for in a driver/courier I have tried yellow cab in the past and found them to be very UNRELIABLE, but this took the cake!. We were from out of town but are from Portland so we know to do our research and find out how far away the place was that we were going for the night.. 4 min away, estimated $6 cab ride. After driving around in circles, we mention if he knows where he's going even though we asked this before even leaving the hotel, and the guy decided to lie about construction on the roads, where????? We saw no construction, we were in the car with you !!! This guy basically tried to take us for a ride and get some extra money like a piece of shit is basically what happened. Not okay. Caught a yellow cab home from downtown tacoma. At my home, the driver swipes my card, then tells me he can't get his machine to connect, he basically demands cash, when I tell him I don't have enough cash on me, he says "just give me everytning you got, which was about $2.00 short of the fare. I questioned the fact that he swiped my card and he insists it won't be charged. 24 hours, not only one, but 2 charges show up in my bank statement. These charges, plus the cash totaled over $80.00. After attempting to contact the mgt. Office two times, I finally get a call back. They told me their driver brought the receipts in the next day & had them run them (identity theft). After a week, I finally got Yellow Cab to reverse one of the cjarges, they told me the driver was going to bring in a reimbursement check. Thirty days and 11 phone calls later, I was informed a check had been sent. There are a few great cab companies in the Tacoma area, Yellow cab is NOT one of them. I have had a great experience with yellow cab. When I call in 99% of the time the dispatcher recognizes my phone & calls me by name. The majority (99%) of the drivers are super friendly. Really the only negative issue I have are with drivers act & treat me as if they are doing me a favor. I am a disable Veteran that needs transportation that is unavailable on Pierce bus system at certai times. On Oct 19th the driver(#786) told me not to talk as I was about give him my destination. He took the long way to get where I needed to be. He stated he was having a bad day. Well if that was the case he did not need to take it out on me. The driver(#711) on Oct 24 grunted at me and sat in his car as I struggled to put my walker in his highly clean car. This same driver told dispatcher that I was not at LWTC-Transit section when he came by. He is rude and has no respect for customer. I really have great service but these two bad apple makes me worry about my safety. I do try to share my accolades to dispatcher and how very satisfy I was with service, This is the first time that I am sharing on www.Yelp.com. Dispatcher told me it would be 15 minutes. My wife called back after 20 minutes. The dispatcher immediately cut my wife off mid-sentence demanding the name the call was placed under. Then when my wife told the dispatcher she cut her off and told her that was rude, the dispatcher stated that my wife was rude and that it didn't matter to her none. My wife threw the phone and asked me to deal with it, to which I just hung up since the argument was quickly escalating. It's amazing how many years ago, I was turned down from working for this company to find now almost 20 years later, they are still inept and unprofessional. This is the worse company to work for. They under pay their employees and are greedy for money. They claim to care but everyone knows that actions speak louder than words! They lie to the customers and clients, all while knowing that they are doing so. They tell the employees to lie to the customers and clients, if the employee does not lie then the fire them. You get no breaks, and they don't care that it is against the laws. I thought that slavery was against the law. Just because you pay someone a cheap wage ($9.50/per hour) does not mean that you own them for the 8 hours that they are there. The general manager (Ahmed Roble) claims to be fair but fires anyone that tries to stick up for themselves. If you have a complaint that he does not agree with you will be collecting unemployment before the end of the day. The employee people that steal from the drivers by shredding their paperwork so that the company does not have to pay the driver. One of the owners (Belai) is so money hungry that he refuses to pay a fare wage. This company needs to be investigated by L&I, I bet that Tacoma Yellow Cab would have there doors closed by the end of the day! The building that they have their employees working in is a hazardous environment. There are rats, mold, asbestos and who knows what else! I took a cab last Monday (11-23) and left my backpack in the rear seat... I called the cab company dozens of times and was never able to get a clear answer from anybody about what happened to my backpack, laptop and school books. Since they have an exclusive contract with SeaTac Airport you can not get picked up in an uber car there... it really bothers me that my taxi driver stole my belongings... & I was not listened to nor compensated... these snakes should be put out of business. read more

This is the worst taxi service ever! I called to make a reservation for a cab to pick me up for the airport the night before my trip. They never showed up. When I called to ask where my cab was that morning they said it would be an hour. Instead of missing my flight I drove my car to the airport and paid to park it there which was incredibly costly. I just spoke to the GM of Yellow Cab and he said that they didn't take reservations (so why did they take my reservation??) Horrible company, bad customer service. Although I am usually a fan of taxi service, having used them worldwide, my trip from Tacoma to Seatac ranked as the worst I have had. I told the dispatcher when I called in that i planned to use a charge card. When I arrived at the airport, the driver demanded cash. I refused and he "tried" to process 4 different charge cards that were declined, unusual, since I have high limits and no charge balance.While I was shuffling cards, the drive looked into my money clip and told me that I had enough to pay cash. I cannot express how irritated I am. I absolutely would not use Tacoma Yellow Cab even if it meant I had to hitch hike. But the cab driver who was picking a neighbor up at my apartment was so incredibly rude and condescending that I had to write this. I called fora cab, to take me home from the Emerald Queen Casino on 29th St. When he arrived he had two people exiting his cab, there was an issue about two dollars. The man said he would have to go in to get change,the driver told him he had another fare (me) so that was unacceptable. As I entered the cab, the driver asked me if I had two dollars I could give him for the man (someone I didn't know from Adam). I said no, they proceeded to argue about two dollars... Forgetting I had money in my pockets, I started counting change from my purse, and came up with a dollar and fifty cents, which I handed to the driver, he added two quarters to it and gave it to the man,and off we went...My fare was just under 17.00 dollars,when we arrived I went in my house and took him out 22.00 dollars,my cab ride had just cost me 24.00 dollars for a 16.50 dollar ride.... tipping should be optional, as a former waitress I too got stiffed by some customers, but I was not about to chase them to the parking lot demanding a tip, which is essentially what happened in my case....5/3/2016 at 2:14 AM read more

The short of it: You might get lucky and get a taxi on time. But more likely they'll tell you 20 to 25 minutes, but you'll be waiting a lot, lot longer. My full experience: I'm leaving a joint review for both Yellow Cab and Ace Taxi Tacoma because I'm pretty sure they're the same company or, at the very least, ran by the same operators, for reasons stated below. I needed to travel from north Tacoma to the Tacoma Dome Station at 3:00 am. There was no Uber available at this hour on this occasion, so I 1.) Called Ace Taxi, but English was not the first language of the woman who answered the phone, and she could not understand my pickup address though I was speaking clearly, it was a simple address, and I'm a native English speaker. She was polite about it, but I had no choice but to hang up and try another company. So I 2.) Dialed Yellow Cab. As when I called Ace, the exact same hold music played (a distinct ethnic track), a woman who sounded similar to the woman at Ace answered, and there was the exact same background noise (kind of echoey distant chatter.) That's why I'm convinced Ace and Yellow Cab at least share the same operators but may also be the same company or affiliated with each other. Having called the Yellow Cab number, once again, English was not the woman's first language and she had trouble understanding me, but after a few minutes of me slowly repeating myself, she was able to enter the correct address. She was polite about it the entire time. Her politeness is the only reason I'm even willing to give one star, as opposed to zero. When I booked the taxi, I was told 20 to 25 minutes. A half hour later, I called to ask the status of my taxi, and I was told they were busy, so it would be another 15 to 20 minutes. Another half an hour later (so one hour since making the original call), there was still no taxi. By then, the city buses around my house were running, so I canceled the taxi and took the bus. The whole ordeal put me an hour behind schedule, and therefore an hour late to orientation at my new job. The operators were very polite and apologetic, but I think when it comes to Yellow Cab and Ace, it's hit or miss. You might be lucky and have a cab arrive in the 20 to 25 minutes they tell you. But you're equally likely to have to wait a lot longer. I do not recommend for timely occasions such as those pertaining to work or travel. read more

if you're in need of taxi service to get to work or where ever you need to go to,do not use yellow cab unless you want to be left stranded and not get a call back at all. i was almost late getting to work because nelda, dispatcher for the company didnt follow thru on her word. i called her at 12:49pm to get somebody to come and pick me up at my place and drop me at work, i told her i had to be at work at 2pm. she assured me within 20-30 minutes. by 1:30pm ,no one showed up i called another cab company to have someone pick me up and drop me at work before 2pm.At 1:38pm, i got service. it just so happens i knew the driver, he used to drive for yellow cab but he quit that company cause they were loosing alot of customers....and i wonder why!!! So, by 7:30pm that same night., i still havent gotten call back from nelda, so i called and complained to the supervisor and according to the supervisor, jeanette, nelda failed to pass on to her during report as she was going off shift about my calling in need of taxi service. so i asked the supervisor " so if i hadnt called on another taxi company for service i would still be standing in the parking lot waiting for a long time and i would be late for work?" Her response was "yes mam". This is a good example of POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE"!!! One would think that with all the compettition out there with cab companies to get people to ride their cars over other competitors, that they might try to work on their customer service and promptness, yellow cab dont seem to care whether they have customers or not. This company is a poor excuse for a company, always completely rude and unprofessional when calling a cab for a guest (i work for a hotel). There has been times I call and I hear a younger male rapping with profane words, and there is a woman who is completely rude and she makes it sound like I'm bothering her for giving your company business by calling for a guest! and another who I recently called (08/01/14) after 11 pm, and she was laughing on the phone when she answered and asked me if I can hold and I heard her say "where the hell is the hold button". Lady, you should have stopped laughing before answering the phone, you are completely unprofessional and have horrible phone skills. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE! I will never use this company again. During the Miley Cyrus concert earlier this year, I had called for a cab for a guest at 12 pm preparing for a pickup at 6:30 pm so they can get to the Tacoma Dome on time, 7 pm rolls along and I call and ask where the cab is that was supposed to be here a half hour before and they said they're completely booked and I have to figure something else out because its a 3 hour wait (you're dispatch, you need to figure out how to provide taxi service when we had set one up hours in advance). Well I called at 12 and there should have been a cab ready at 6:30 if the dispatcher said at 12 they will be here. The dispatchers are horrible with time frames as well. If I call for a guest to be picked up at 8 am, do not send the cab 15 minutes after I call, when I called at 10pm the night prior and your driver says they were told 10 pm, I told the driver come back at 8 am like I had scheduled with the dispatch. Everytime I've called since I started working in hotels this year, I constantly either have complaints from guests or I have an issue with them, myself.
