Will not use again...Needed to use the service because my car had broken down and buses didn't run that early. Over the course of 4 days my rate changed each day even tho all of the driver's took the exact same route. My rate varies up to 1.75 each day. To some that's not a lot however when the rate goes up that much in 4 days what would have happened at 8 days?? Yellow cab needs to fix this. Especially since they store your information for the next time you call. To me if they are storing your pick up address and can see that you have been taken to the same location multiple days in a row the rate should be fixed. I only give one-star reviews to experiences that leave me wanting to cry out in frustration and feeling injusticed. Maybe that is a bit dramatic; hear me out. I looked on the official Tucson airport web site and saw three cab companies they recommend. One was Yellow Cab. I called an hour in advance to schedule a taxi pickup to the airport. I live around 17 miles away from TIA. I called every ten minutes after the scheduled time. I did not have enough time to find other modes of transportation. I was finally picked up 40 minutes late after the dispatchers told me that my driver was nearby but a new driver. The driver started going down Campbell until I told him there was construction at Ft. Lowell; he later tried to cut across Speedway before I told him we would hit University traffic. Once we hit 22nd he booked it, but it was a bit stressful. $25 for an almost 20 miles away. Less than 20 minutes. But 40 minutes late for a ride that smelled like an old bus? I need more reliability. read more

I have always had very professional and prompt service from Yellow Cab. I am giving them 2 stars not because of their workers or the taxi drivers, but because of the horrible stories I hear about the management of the company and the way that they treat their drivers in terms of how much they make them pay to lease the cars ($140 a day!!!). Most of these drivers are lucky to walk away with 50 dollars after working a full day or night shift. I've just heard from too many of these cab drivers how this company doesn't care about them and how they are struggling to make a decent living despite working extremely long shifts. I really wish they would improve the way they treat and compensate these workers. read more

Yesterday, I was at Arizona Vascular on Speedway. When I arrived a man in a wheelchair was sitting looking out the front window. After I checked in, I heard the receptionist say to this man, "Mr. ___, you've been waiting about two hours, would you like me to call them again?" The man kindly said, "yes, please." I heard the call and the receptionist had to supply some number. I had my visit with the doctor, went to lunch for an hour, came back, underwent a test that took about 45 minutes, came out AND THAT MANW AS STILL SITTING THERE! I was horrified. Then, I paid my copay and THEN I saw a Yellow Cab van pull into a space and pick him up. Are you kidding? If I understood all that I heard and saw, THAT MAN WAITED ABOUT 4 HOURS. I assume the number the receptionist provided means that Medicaid or Medicare was paying for his transport. Is that why the service was so INHUMANE and DISRESPECTFUL? I am appalled and had to share. If this is a Medicare or Medicaid contract, the contract should be cancelled!! read more

I live in Three Points and out of all the companies, Yellow Cab rules. They get to my house fast and do not have a hard time finding my house. The drivers are easy to have a nice conversation with! Not to mention, its cheaper (and like 100x better) than "discount cab". We've had the WORST experience with Discount Cab, but Yellow Cab has not failed us yet!! read more

I used a cab in Arizona once back in freshman year. It takes forever to call a cab though, a 45 minute wait during the day. Pricing is almost identical for all the cab services, and they are very limited in Tucson. However, the driver was quick and was able to get me to class on time. I called them for a pickup from the Chapman car dealership in Tucson and they said they would send a taxi. Thirty minutes later when no taxi had arrived I called back. They said they couldn't find the location. Twenty minutes later I called yet again. This time they said no driver was available. Don't waste your time with Yellow Cab if you need a taxi. read more

I was confronted by a yellow cab driver that was aggressive; with that in mind i am myself a cab driver and the GM of the company, i would never conduct myself in that manner or nor my drivers. If one of my drivers ever did an act like this i would let them go. How he conducted himself in this manner is very unprofessional, but i guess this is the standard of this company. Yellow Cab in Tucson never showed up!! Made my daughter miss her flight!!! We called the day before for a 4am pickup to go to the airport. The cab NEVER SHOWED UP! My daughter called them at 4:05am, 4:15am and 4:45am. I called them at 5:00am and repeatedly after that but they NEVER CAME! One dispatcher told me they put the calls out to cab drivers but have no way to make any of the cab drivers take the call. I asked for a manager and was transferred to "Bambi" who put me on hold for 15 minutes and then hung up on me. read more

Another cab company was called after Yellow cab and arrived there within 15 mins of the call. We called this company about 10:30 to get a ride to go downtown for a friend's 21st birthday. The dispatcher said it would be 15-20 minutes. 45 minutes later, we called them back. The dispatcher said that the cab driver had called, gotten no answer, and left, even though the phone didn't ring. The dispatcher also seemed really angry that there was a gate code to the neighborhood, although I don't understand why this would piss her off. Her name was Sue, and we didn't get downtown until 12:30. We called Discount Cab, who showed up faster than Yellow cab did after we called them back. Don't ever call them. read more

I've seen some bad drivers with Yellow Cab but today was by far the worst! Cab 1514 was driving like a maniac on 22nd. Speeding, riding the tails of every vehicle in front of him, took a left hand turn at at least 35-40mph, swerving in and out of traffic....UNBELIEVABLE! He's gonna kill someone! I started new with United Health Care medical transportation coming from Ohio to Arizona It is all good if your going long distance..It is about the money ....................Not saying cab drivers are bad ....just dont think money !!! but yet they will drop you off and then YOUR AT risk to when you can get picked up before dusk !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I fly in and out of Tucson all the time for work. The normal distance for travel is 8.5 miles and costs about $25 (without tip). Yesterday, I took the first taxi available at the stand after a long exhausting flight back to Tucson. The driver took me straight home along the normal route, but ended up charging me $31.25 for a total distance of 11.3 miles. If I could give zero, trust me, I would. My husband and I were attending a wedding about 30 minutes from the border so we knew getting a taxi would be difficult. I called a few places and when I reached the dispatcher at Yellow Cab and they told me as long as they were picking up or dropping off in Pima County, we would be okay for a reservation. We thought they were a saving grace so I reserved a cab for 4 pm and 11 pm (and had confirmation numbers for both). Getting to the wedding was not a problem at all ..... returning back to our hotel? That was another issue. The driver called me and was trying to figure out where to pick us up, which was irritating because I left detailed instructions on how to get to the wedding venue when I made the reservation, and then he told me that he doesn't pick up outside of Pima County!!! I was furious and told him that I had a confirmation number for the pickup and when I talked to dispatch, as long as we were going or returning to Pima County that we would not have a problem. This great and fantastic driver (sarcasm) told me that because he's an independent contractor, he doesn't have to pick up anyone he doesn't want to and hung up on me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We called back Yellow Cab and they said they would have to dispatch another driver, which could either take an hour or so to reach us but due to the location, may not be able to have anyone take the ride. Are you serious???? Zero responsibility. I knew I was an uber fan for a reason .... this cab company was the worst! Totally unreliable. I called Yellow Cab yesterday to make arrangements for a ride to the airport for my 10:30 flight...I requested a 9:00 pick-up. At 9:10, no cab, called and dispatcher said I was on their board and a cab should pick up my fare soon, but that they were having a very busy morning...at 9:20, no cab, called back and was told I could expect a driver in 15-20 minutes...I asked if my reservation was merely a suggestion to them and he told me that the drivers don't come in until 9, so it is difficult to get a driver for 9am...I told him that if it were not possible to pick me up at 9, they should have told me that yesterday so I could have called someone else. The driver showed up at 9:36... I did not stiff her on the tip, but as I got my luggage, I told her that I was very unhappy with the dispatch service and would not use yellow cab again, she said "you are an hour early, you are here in plenty of time"...it was 30 minutes before my flight...nice attitude, one more reason to delete yellow cab from my phone. read more

I hope these rating have some effect. Cab was over 15 minutes late for an airport ride. When I called the dispatcher, basically got the "it's not my problem" response. the drivers are "independent contractors". So, let get this right, you can't be held responsible for the cab you sent, from your company, under your company's name? This has to be one of THE worst cab companies in Tucson. I can't believe how careless and thoughtless these drivers are. Called in for a taxi from a Best Buy in the center of town on a cold night and the driver doesn't even stop for the customers! What, are we supposed to jump into the cab as it's moving? Called back again and the response was, "No one was there." The lights were on and people were literally waiting in the doorway. Only a moron could miss that. Called for another cab from the same business, this time the driver was kind enough to wait FOR HALF A SECOND before driving off. I swear this guy didn't even stop. Where did you get your drivers from, the circus? Because all I'm seeing is a bunch of clowns. If you want a reliable company, do NOT choose this one. My flight was changed last minute by the airline during the snowstorms last week and called the cab company at 2pm for a 4:40pm flight. I asked them how long it would take and the guy said 15 minutes. He seemed confused at first when I gave him the address, even though I said Tucson, because he was trying to find the address in Phoenix (where this company is based even though they have a Tucson number). When I finally clarified with him, he just said "oh," and then found me a cab. When the cab still didn't show up at 2:35, I called again and explained my situation and said I needed to get to the airport. The lady, this time, said the cab would be there in 10 minutes. After another 15 minutes, I called again and obviously very upset because now it was 2:50pm. The guy said the cab would be there in 2 minutes. I frantically said that I was told before the cab was on its way and it never got here and could they send another cab. The guy answered me in a very annoyed voice then it was on its way and there was "nothing else they could do about it." I was so irritated I hung up on him. Finally I saw a cab drive by 10 minutes later and realized he didn't know where he was going, so I took my bags and went out onto the street and flagged him down. The gem show was going on, so there was so much traffic, it took us 10 minutes just to go 1mile at one point. I barely made my flight. I have to come to Tucson for business and I will never use them again. I'll just incur the cost and rent a car, instead. read more

WARNING!!! Do not use this cab company if you need reliable....ordered a van for pick up 5 and half hours earlier for 5 quests with lots of bags ...was assured by the lady several times it would be there since it was 5+ hours notice. 445 comes around and no cab then 5am and still no van so i called and spoke with a dispatcher by the name or George at the local Tucson office and he was rude the whole way through the call. To start with no accountability said they cab wasn't coming because vans are so few...i replied with but, i called 5 hours in advance...he said well it isn't ready. I said OK how fast can you get 2 cabs he then said oh ok the van is gonna be there in 20 mins....so i am thinking OK 20 mins means almost 530 and our flight it at 655....so we wont get to the airport until 545...i said i am sorry but that iss way to late we will miss our flight. He then snapped back with a rude tone well i can have you wait an hour if you want sir? Then me being offended because this jerk just threatened to mess with my ride i said excuse?! why would we have to wait an hour? He said "sir did you wake up mad or something? cause i woke up and am having a good day?" then long story short i asked for a supervisor he said i am the supervisor and hung up. So please please don't use this company and if you get George call back for someone else. He threatened to delay our van an hour!! Makes me think who else does he do this to? read more

I would give Yellow Cab zero stars if I could because they don't even deserve one star. We had a death in the family and needed to make last minute plans for plane tickets, shuttle tickets to the airport, and a cab to get to the shuttle drop off. We called at 6:30 the evening prior to arrange for Yellow cab to pick us up at our house at 4:45 am. We had to be across town at the shuttle by 5:15. Well not only did the cab not show up at 4:45, when I called to ask if they were on their way the operator said no! She said that the ticket was listed but no one had "picked it up yet!" When I told her the dire situation we were in all she had to offer was "so you don't want the cab anymore?". We had gone out of our way to pre-order the cab and they didnt bother showing up or even calling us. If I wouldn't have called we would've been just left there waiting and missed our shuttle!
