What is gymnastics about? Athletics, for sure, but even more so it's about fun, achievement, and…read morecamaraderie, all while building confidence, dedication, and work ethic. Ideally a gym provides expert instruction plus a safe environment in which a special little family exists--one the kids get to have all to themselves as they grow up together. This is what we were looking for, and what we've found at Legends. Our daughter is in her fifth year here, having gone through the recreational program and now the competitive team program. The teams compete successfully and the gymnasts grow together as they steadily increase their skill. Legends is a family-run gym, and it shows: Barbara, Amanda, Ben, and the entire coaching staff are attentive, supportive, and totally invested in each gymnast's progress. Their level of commitment to their work--and the kids they coach--is plain to see. This is a home away from home for our daughter. There are lots of gyms, but Legends is a family.

My daughter was enrolled in the original location and we continued into the new location. We were…read moretold she "made the competitive team." We signed a contract and set up monthly payments. We were hit with hidden fees weekly, including a required purchase of a personally embroidered Lululemon warm-up fit. They determined we were not in compliance with the contract when my daughter missed a week, due to a hospitalization, and took our payment for the sweatsuit but never gave it to us. To top it all off, she came home with lice while at their summer camp.

I tried an adult gymnastics class at this location, and my trial was sort of a mixed bag…read more Starting with registration, the website mentioned the class was full but that drop-ins were possible, so I reached out about it. They were able to accommodate me which was great, and I paid my fee and got the paperwork filled out. (The paperwork was 100% as if I was a parent filling it out for my child. Kind of weird, but not the worst so I just moved on). When I showed up (maybe 10 mins early), there was no one there to greet me. The whole place was full of kids and I didn't see any adults, so I started to worry that I showed up on the wrong day or time, but once the class time officially started, I saw a group of people who were warming up on trampolines. Since I wasn't greeted and there wasn't anyone who was clearly in charge, I assumed class started. I interrupted two people who looked like they may work there, and they said the class had started - and I could go join the others. They gave me some simple instructions on how to warm up and then I was on my own. The class itself was most enjoyable because of the other attendees. They realized that I wasn't sure what to do and they helped me figure things out. The coach was less helpful and I felt very out of place- she never introduced herself to me, or to the other members of the class. I did pay $40 for the class, so I expected at least a greeting and maybe a little bit of guidance on how to work my way into things. The class does have a lot of different workouts and combination of floor exercise and bars, balance beam, etc. so I did feel like I had a decent workout and learned a little bit about gymnastics. Personally, I felt that the experience was fine, but I wasn't overly impressed with my first time, so I decided it wouldn't be a fit for a regular weekly class.

The coaches have been great with our kids! We are very impressed with how much they have learned…read morethis semester.
