Their install process was great. I signed up, was offered plenty of time slots to pick for them to come and install the gear, and the guys that came to get me up and running were pleasant, efficient, and got things working within about an hour I would say, which considering this involved putting a receiver on the roof, I thought was pretty good. The service has, so far, been rock solid; I've not had any outages. The speed is OK without being great (I get a maximum of about 20mbps down). What sucks is the data caps, and the price therein. I find the idea of data caps in this day and age laughable. I'm having to pay $189 a month for 400Gb download, which is just about enough, though I am close to the cap every month (after which I'll pay an additional 50c per Gb), and I don't regard us as heavy users. Companies like this have been the only game in town for people in rural areas for a long time, so they've been able to price gouge. While they offer very pleasant service (they are a nice company to deal with), there's no escaping the fact that I'm being ripped off, but given my alternative is DSL at 1.5mbps, I've got no choice, and they know it. But as soon as Starlink expands to my area, I'll be off. Companies like this are quite rightly going to be killed as soon as proper competition comes along. read more

We have been EXTREMELY disappointed with this wi-fi service. maybe I should rephrase that.... These guys are the worst internet company we have ever used and I mean EVER used. they bump up our internet from 6MBPS to 30MBPS, but ONLY while we are on an active call with them. once we hang up our TV become extremely pixelated, we have had to call them over 6 times. They never fix it for more than a day. They say that 'oh we see the problem, we will fix it'. and I swear to you that not even 15 minutes after leaving the call they lower our speeds lower than they have ever been! In short, this is the worst internet we have ever used, if you sign up with them you will get treated HORRIBLY and will have to pay hundreds, or thousands of dollars to cancel. DO NOT USE YELLOWKNIFE. if you want to call them all they are trained in is being a salesman, they make you pay more for more "premium speed" our internet is over $180 and it's still the most horrific, awful, disappointing, lousy, most non reliable internet company we have ever used in bend. read more

I am SO disappointed in this company. I was excited to try them, as our old internet company was cutting out often. I looked at the rave reviews for Yellowknife and felt confident in my decision to switch our internet service to them. Big mistake. The prices are outrageous. Absolutely outrageous. If you want an unlimited plan, it's going to cost $250+.If it's even possible to get unlimited with them. Most families of 4 use quite a bit of bandwidth, especially when kids are at home during the pandemic and parents are working at home. I don't know how anyone can afford their prices. I We started at a fixed rate (which they start everyone when they are new), and then figure your price from there. We've had to increase our plan 3 times already and we've been with them for 1 month. The price just keeps going up and up with no end in sight. Our old internet provider is looking pretty good right now - everything was UNLIMITED. Even if their speed was lightning fast, it might be worth it, but that certainly isn't the case. I had such high hopes, but you know what they say about grass and the other side. read more

So I pay about $250 a month or more for services. 2 weeks ago we lost internet in Powell Butte (not the first time), and the excuse was the Terrebone (Crooked River Ranch) fire outages. Today our internet is down (using my hotspot) and when you call 541-385-0111 all you get is a busy signal. They are lucky to get 2 stars right now. I expect someone to pick up the phone. I HIGHLY recommend Yellowknife Wireless Company. I've been a longtime customer for over 18 years and disappointed in myself for not posting a review earlier. I've verbally recommended Yellowknife to all my neighbors and they are super happy with their services. In fact, I think my entire street are their customers now. Quite a testament to the quality wireless service they provide. Over the 18 years, They've been consistent with providing a stellar and fast wireless service, And their customer service is excellent. From the front desk, to working with Derrick on trouble shooting tips on the router and connection, And their On-site services. Just recently we needed to upgrade our router to accommodate gaming/streaming and Derrick worked extensively with me and even my son(technical kid) on the best options. In the end, it wasn't just the router we needed but we needed to adjust the cable to get the wireless reach we needed to get both quality and speed across our entire house. So Derrick sent both Trevor and Jeremy to re-cable around the house and thru the nasty crawl space. I can't say enough about the AWESOME customer service and the quality of wireless speed Yellowknife Wireless Company provides. Yellowknife is the best Internet company in Central Oregon. If you aren't with them then you do t know what it means to have the best customer service in the industry. They are top notch. No games. No bills that aren't what they supposed to be. Just straight forward internet with amazing customer service. And their caring of their customers during the lockdown was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. They gave away hundreds of hours of internet usage to each customer so kids to do homework and families could stream movies. It was absolutely a selfless caring act! read more

I called this company to set up WI-FI for my home. They were about 8 weeks out for installation, but told me they could service my home in Sisters. When they finally came out, they attempted to install wireless, but said that trees in the area blocked the signal, and they could not install it. This was after one of the installers asked to use my bathroom (sketchy request considering COVID-19). They then told me I needed to pay an $85 "survey fee", which I refused to pay. Eighty-five bucks for the privilege of having them use my bathroom and climb on my roof and tell me that trees block their signal? Wow. read more

Here's the problem. These folk are so good with customer service that it is easy to get spoiled---then when you live somewhere else, you get very frustrated by the lack of it. They are the absolute best wireless experience I have had. They are knowledgeable. They do what they say they will do. They do it with ease and grace. I can hardly recommend them strongly enough and that comes after being with them for approximately four years. A postscript---I wrote this review a few weeks ago but now have even more reason to sing their praises. They discovered the dish that brings in my internet feed had blown down from the tree where it is installed, in a recent windstorm. They went by and fixed it before I even knew it was down!!! We recently moved to the Bend area (a little outside of town) and have been struggling to find an ISP that serviced our area. We had Yellowknife out today, they did a site survey + professional tree install under pretty adverse weather conditions, and the team was very happy to answer any questions along the way. Wireless Internet can be pretty challenging given there are a lot of physical factors involved in getting a strong connection. So your location will make a big difference if Yellowknife works well for you. Overall, I am very impressed with my interactions with Yellowknife so far and the performance / speeds have exceeded my expectations, especially given no other provider was able to offer service. read more

We love it. Never had a connection issue, or slow down. Not once in a year. In fact, it's faster than the DSL Century Link service we had when we lived in Redmond. No joke. I'm not sure why the other reviewer wasn't clear on the data cap, but you have to pick a plan based on your data cap. You have 2-3 to choose from, and that's it. It doesn't get much more straight forward. We got the 100GB/month, and only went over once in the entire year due to my kids downloading several large games from Xbox Live. We got charged 60¢ per gig over the 100GB data limit, for a total of $20. Whenever I had a question, I was never on hold, and got to talk to a tech almost immediately. No freakin' phone trees. I just resigned for another year. $50/month if you pay for the entire year up front. The ONLY downside I can think of is the data cap, which we didn't have on Century Link. (Although the cable company, Bend Broadband has data limits as well.) read more

We moved into a new house 3 years ago and signed up with Yellowknife. The service has been perfect. Recently when the heavy snow affected the antenna on our roof, I called for technical assistance. They performed trouble shooting and within 4 hours a truck showed up at our house and fixed the problem in 15 minutes. No charge -- just part of the service.This company totall rocks customer service. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering a wireless provider in Central Oregon. I live outside of Sisters OR and after trying unsuccessfully two unnamed wireless providers, I landed at Yellow Knife. I love these folks and their service! Not only is their internet fast, reliable and rationally priced, their service is excellent! When the rare outage occurs, they quickly set up a phone message or real person who can tell you that they are aware and when service will likely be restored. The absolute worst rip off ever. My provider sold to this company. They charged me to come out and re install connection. The connection was awful, cutting off and unable to connect far too often. Then didn't specify that they had a limit on their internet, (must have been somewhere in their large contract). So they are trying to charge me an extra 280$. I cancelled and now they are trying to charge me almost 800 for breaking their contract. read more

After having only 1.5mps with Centurylink we were thrilled we could get upto 12mps from Yellowknife. So, they came out for $544 to install--and we opted to add our phone service too. First off, they wouldn't crawl under the house to run the wire-my husband had to leave work in Bend to drive to Sisters to crawl for 5 minutes and hand them the cord. They told me I could cancel Centurylink immediately. However, they couldn't port mu number for 3 days so I had to uncancel--twice. The internet is fine but boy the phone service was a nightmare! Our security didn't work, our gate entrance would no longer work---and we had to threaten them to come out and fix it. They got the phone to work but we had to call the security company and our electrician to do the rest :( Our phone ring is weird to say the least and we've called twice to have them change it--we get lip service but they haven't fixed it yet. Long and short--the internet service is great--but had I known about the phone issues...I would have left that with Centurylink. read more

So of course I stayed and had to pay for new wiring etc. AND a year contract, then later we decided to move out of state and I still have to pay, this does not seem legal to me. This company's policy on data is insane. They give you almost nothing. They get away with it because the other internet service dont reach where their towers do. Its robbery. Luckily Verizon does reach this far and 150 dollars for unlimited internet is way better than 50 for 250 gigs and 60 cents for every gig extra. One hd movie can be up to 100 gigs btw. 4k movies forget about it. This internet belongs in the 90s where it came from. read more
