Super awesome spot to stop on the drive in or out of Yellowstone. Very affordable at $47 for 2 adults/1 child - we expected and would have paid much more. The safari drive is amazing, the petting zoo animals are adorable and friendly, and the rides were fun for our 5 year old (probably not so much for older kids). Went here as a kid with my family. We had a great time and got to see all the animals we didn't see in yellowstone. The secret to seeing lots of bears is either paying extra to be on the feeding truck. Or just being the lucky car directly behind the feeding truck. read more

Bear world was fun, but I am not sure if I would go again. It's not too costly to get into the park (assuming you drive your own vehicle and only have a few people), but you are not allowed to stop, or roll down your windows, which makes it hard to take pictures. You have to pay more to take the guided tour and feed the big bears. I believe it is an extra 11$ each for the guided tour, but I am not sure. (It seemed like a very fast tour, which is why we didn't do it). You cannot feed the animals through your own vehicle, which makes sense (bears), but there are plenty of other safaris in other areas where you can stop and roll your windows down and feed the animals. The drive itself is very short compared to many other safaris I have been to, and they have very less amount of animals than others I have been too. They do have a good amount of bears though. (Obviously I would hope so- "Bear World"). Also- the bears are VERY tamed. Not wild by any means, the workers were walking around with the big bears and petting them some during our drive. You can pay 45$ per person to feed the baby bears. I was considering it, but they were all sold out- apparently they usually are. But after seeing a group feed the Bears, I decided I would not do it even if they had a spot- each person had maybe up to 1 minute to bottle feed the bear in front of everyone (which is not behind the scenes), and they can only pet the top of the Cubs head. No thank you for 45$. The petting zoo was ok, not many animals, but they were nice and pretty lazy (especially the goats). The workers there were very nice, and answered all of our questions. Overall this is a fun place, they even have some amusement rides (small ones for the kids). But I do not like how they operate the actual drive through portion for your personal vehicle, which is why I will probably not be returning. read more

There's bears, there's elk, there's driving in circles, there's little kid rides, there's a petting zoo that's smells absolutely horrible. So yeah, it was pretty OK for the most part. Kind of expensive is what I think personally. But it is what it is. I will say teddy bears really look like actual bears. So went thru bear world today. The bear encounter was pretty good. But pretty slim on deer and elk. Only saw 1 buck and 2 bulls. And that was on the 2nd drive thru. The lady at he gate knew hardly anything. Same for all the employees we spoke too. About 5-6 of them. They hire local kids. I guess that is good for the community, but they aren't too business savvy and friendly. They couldn't answer questions very well and had zero interest in making your experience a great one. I would demand that all employees are knowledgeable, friendly, outgoing and anxious to make the customer experience amazing. We saw about 25-30 bears so that was cool. Most of the animals didn't look all that healthy. This might give cause to the activist people. Had we not seen a lot of bear I would have been pretty upset when paying 20/person to get in. But overall the bear encounter was good. read more

We went with our family of 6. It cost us $100. The coolest part of the drive thru part was the bears. The rides are geared towards smaller kids, ours didn't really appreciate them, plus there were only 5 rides and one was broken. The petting zoo was cool the kids enjoyed the fawns. I was very upset to see the baby bears they keep in a small enclosure right in the middle of the park. One of them just kept pacing and crying in front of the electrical wired, like it was looking for a way out. I'm a little disappointed that we even came here, we definitely won't come back. read more

This place was amazing! You can drive through with your car and see elk, deer, bison, and bears! The price is reasonable and for an additional $55 you can feed the bear cubs. They are so adorable! One of the best things I did out of my Utah/Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho trip. An expedience I will never forget! :) read more

When I got here, I felt like a child again. I honestly expected it to be bigger. I was surprised to see such a small area for Grizzlies and black bears, moose, elk, etc. I appreciate having read some of the other reviews after my visit, which indicated that others felt the same. One thing I wanted to ask at the park was how they received baby cubs. I have read here that they breed them there, which is acceptable (to a certain degree), but that they are taken away at 6 weeks old. This is interesting. At first I was ok with the adult bears, but over a while it reminded me of the Sea World for land carnivores. This was on my Yellowstone Bucket List. It was just me and my dog and she wasn't having it. The bears freaked her out, but I'd take my parents there next time. Such a unique concept and the employees are very helpful and friendly. Next time, though, I will visit a sanctuary instead. Check out The Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center at West Yellowstone. read more

It was a nice family trip, good for ages 2-8. Plan for maybe 1-2 hours. Drive through bears and other animals take about 30 minutes. Then you have petting zoo with chickens, one fat pig, goats, and some deer. Last is some small rides that younger kids enjoy. Food is about $10 for a meal read more

How much one likes or dislikes this park depends on how much you love or care for bears. One reviewer said, "she would not drive 500 miles to get here," I would drive 1,000 miles to get there. I got to bottle feed five cubs, no one else seemed that enthused with feeding them and they walked away as soon as the bottles were empty. I on the other hand could not pull myself away and the trainers let me stay longer and told me to let the bears suckle on my fingers. I know you are thinking how dangerous, wild bears, bears are predators! The fat little cubs sat there purring like kittens, yes bears purr. As each bottle becomes empty the cubs get very anxious for another bottle and make crying noises until their tummies are full on 3 bottles. These bears are hand raised from 4 days old, they live in an onsite home with a human parent and grow up believing humans are their relatives. They are given strict training as they age to never jump on a human or rough house with them, so humans do not get maimed or killed by a playful bear. This is important so bears can be feed and get medical care when they are BIG BEARS. I have been to several bear facilities and this one is the best and has the best bear/human integration program. I really loved the baby bear feeding program, the drive through on the bus and donuts was fun and the drive through park was interesting but not as great as feeding cubs. I only wish I loved closer by so I could see the cubs more often. I also got great photos of the cubs playing with each other in the very nice outdoor, water, play area. read more

We were very disappointed with our visit today to Bear World. We had pre-arranged (and paid) to have our four kids feed the baby cubs. When I booked the feeding four months ago on the phone, I told the woman that my son would be one week shy of his 5th birthday. She assured me he was old enough and that it would be fine. Well when we arrived today, the "animal manager" told me that not only would my son be unable to feed the Cubs but that she would not be able to refund my money. My son started to cry uncontrollably and of course, I started to cry because of the shear disappointment he was experiencing. I asked if there was anyone else I could speak with and she said no. I expressed that they should at least refund my money and again she refused. My other three kids had an okay time feeding the Cubs but I don't think anyone would say it is worth the $45 fee per person (this is in addition to the $75 I paid for the six of us to enter the park). We also experienced very rude salespeople in the gift shop (refusing to give us a second box to distribute our two pounds of fudge). When we finally drove through the animal park, we found the animals to look miserable and honestly, not well. Once bear looked like he was dying on the side of the road. I would definitely not recommend this attraction. Go to Yellowstone and see "real" wildlife. read more

This is actually my very first negative Yelp review ever. I usually give places the benefit of the doubt for bad service or what not. Everybody has bad days. But this was different. I was super anxious to find a Grizzly during our stay in Yellowstone and we didn't so when I saw "Yellowstone Bear World" literally right off the highway in which we were on I said, "It can't be that bad if it's a Yellowstone thing." I was hoping for a very thoughtful, injured or "problem bear" program thing and was willing to settle for that in order to just see a Grizzly this trip. I bit. That's what they're trying to get you to think. In fact I'm only writing this because I left there actually a little depressed for the next two days and honestly it's a little disheartening to see so many positive experiences if they saw what I saw. Most of the park was pretty sad considering the size of some of these animals and the area they're confined to but I'm specifically referring to two Grizzly Bears which were in a roughly 15 ft x 8ft, give or take rectangular electrical wire "cage", in which they just walked in circles and in the exact same spot in the back right corner of the cage they'd flick their head back in a very odd and frustrated way. They were like in this frustration trance. It was weird. It was very sad. To see a great beautiful animal being exploited for profits was very weird. What a life you guys are giving those animals. For $20 a head. The thing is, I'm sure they're not breaking any laws by this but if that's the case it's a pretty pathetic piece of legislation that says it's okay to profit off of the explicit psychological torture of a very wise animal. At the very edge of the park are these two cages that are for people's pets. It's in the back of the parking lot next to where the cars drive out. It's just super weird. Everything is weird here. Weird vibe. Make your decision to visit here or not but I regret it. I wish I didn't give $40 to keep this thing going. This place is so wrong on so many different levels. Be well. read more

If there was a way to rate this into the negatives I would. Unfortunately I have to give it at least 1 star. This place is horrific. Not only is the staff rude to customers in general, they clearly do not respect or value the life and well-being of the bears. Driving through Bear World was incredibly sad. Seeing loads of bears laying around, depressed, and sickly. They're confined behind fences while their natural habit and the great outdoors surrounds them, teasing them with freedom that they'll never get. While driving through bear world an employee was walking through yelling at them and trying to provoke them to be more entertaining for drivers. We made the mistake of leaving our sunroof open and one bear was super curious of our dog that was in the backseat. He came over and was peeking in, then put his head through the sunroof. This was pretty exciting and startled our dog, however, the bear is clearly very kind but just curious and bored. I'm not sure where they got their bears and had to visit only bc I couldn't believe this actually existed. If you want to explore bears go to the The Grizzly & Wolf Discover Center outside of Yellowstone Park where the bears were rescued and you'll see the significant difference in the health and spirit of the bears. Also, you'll actually learn something. BETTER YET, try doing a Yellowstone backcountry hike where you'll run into one in the wild. While I was doing Union Falls I came across a mother black bear and her cub only 6' ft away. Black bears are skiddish so the mother only assessed the danger and ran off. This was truly an incredible experience. Exploring and seeing animals in nature provides a lesson to children instead of exploiting bears like Bear World does and sending the msg that animals are purely for human entertainment. I pray that Bear World is shutdown and those bears go to a rescue where they are able to live their life free instead of being prepped for Hollywood, as one employee touted.... :( read more

My family and I were vacationing in Big Sky and planned to visit Yellowstone Bear World. We bought tickets for the baby bear feeding months in advance. But on the day of the trip, our tire blew and we were going to be about 20 min late for our scheduled time. We called to make sure we could still go and the manager said they should still be feeding them if we could make it by then. We made it in about 20 mins late and the staff whisked us in and we got there right as they were finishing up. We were able to spend about 5 min with the baby bears, which wasn't a lot, but better than nothing! We left and rejoined the rest of our group and that's when he manager came over and apologized for the short amount of time and said they'd like to give us the pictures taken during the feeding, as well as allow us to go on the next adult bear feeding excursion for free and give us the pics from that as well. All this even though it was our fault for being late! We hadn't said anything about it since it was completely our fault for being late, we really were just grateful we got to go even if for a short time!! We thoroughly enjoyed the next excursion and it was so fun to see all the animals in the park up close and feed them. Everyone loved it!! The young kids in our group loved going on the rides and seeing all the farmyard animals in the petting zoo. I know this is going to be one of their favorite memories from the trip. I love bears. But I was pretty disappointed with this place. The bears here are fairly small. The location is pretty small. The bear feeding experience was a huge disappointment - you toss bread out the window of their big ride on bus. Whoopie. Not worth the price since I'm closer to the bears when I drive in my own car. I did get to see the baby bears playing though, that was cute. My kid loved the animal farm area. Gift store overpriced as usual. read more

We spent a week in Yellowstone and saw on two black bear cubs in the wild. Here we saw lots of bears but it's clear that the bear are not wild. The staff could walk right inside and the bears walked up to them and were able to be pet by workers. The petting zoo was cool for the kids. We saw a few fawns, deer, goats, a pig and chickens. Spent about 2 hours there with the small amusements rides (really for kids 8 and under). A little pricey but you get to see bears! read more

It was fun to have a close encounter with bears. We enjoyed the drive thru wildlife park and seeing bears in somewhat their natural environment was amazing! The only sad part was that the enjoyment only lasted a few minutes for the drive thru is very short. The cubs were just adorable but I was disappointed of the space the zoo gives them to live in. The space was small for three cubs and to find out they keep them there a full year was just heartbreaking to hear. My believe is...the zoo can provide cubs with more space to live in. read more

Reading any negatives about this place totally surprises me. I went with 2 other adult women and we all had a great time. Took amazing close up photos of bears right thru our car window. Watched a pack of wolves chase and play in the road in front of our car. It was absolutely magical and well worth the price! And we werent rushed at all. We must have hit it at the right time, but we had no cars behind us and took all the time we wanted. Loved this place and cant wait to take my grandchildren there next time! read more

I love bears I have a bear collection ,this was the best place to go i got to feed 6 bears by bottle got video of it that will last me a life time and the drive through the white elk, deer the wolfs and more bears we went around twice, trust me you and your children will have a blast. read more
