The other way is hiking to it along Jenny Lake Trail. There are many people who take the boat over and do Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point and then leave. For this reason the first mile of trails after getting off the boat are heavily trafficked with tons of people and families. For this reason, if you do come visit Hidden Falls, I would recommend doing it early in the morning. We did the Cascade Canyon Trail around 8:30am and visited this on the way down around 11:30am and it was packed with people and kids running around so go early to avoid the crowds. The waterfall is beautiful! It's not hidden as the name would suggest since it's highly trafficked. We didn't stay long (only about a minute) because all the people and kids running around took away from the feeling of being surrounded by nature and at peace, although we are glad we went.

Another popular trail but not overly crowded near end of day. Trail was narrow and flat with a few minor inclines. There was still snow after you cross the last bridge towards the viewpoint of the waterfall but do-able without spikes. The trail does not take you up close to the waterfall but only viewable from a distance. Jenny Lake reminds me of Crater Lake in Oregon; not because of the color but due to the sheer size. Beautiful views of the Teton Range, String Lake, Jenny Lake, Hidden Falls and the surrounding area! Carry bear spray; the chances of encountering a bear is lower at popular trails but you never know. The other day I was…read moregetting ready for us to go on the trip we had planned, through one of Idaho's many lava fields, when I came across this interesting hike. some comments on a hike webpage said it as pleasant and easy. We weren't looking for a difficult end of day hike and we had already done one of the best lava fields on the plant at Craters of the of the Moon, so we chose to change our agenda to this river adjacent walk. When we got to the parking area, I could see the the path was, up. it wasn't along the river but walked along it a bit higher and climbed along the mountain side. it was perfect in my eyes, a bit more interesting. as we started our hike I appreciated how our view of the broad lazy river got belter and better. There were man turn offs from the main path to sit or just view the river and the country side. Ass the sun was going down the views got exponentially belter. We went over a river about mile in that was fed from hot springs. We crossed the small bridge and tested the water. Not that warm but still pretty cool. It was a great spot to call it a day and head back. It's an easy + route to go on that really gives you the best of river mountain and views. I would rate it possibly the best near Idaho Falls.

After hours of exploring the park, nothing could have prepared us for what was waiting at the end of that drive. The view of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone from Inspiration Point is absolutely stunning -- one of those rare moments where you stop talking and just stare. The canyon drops away dramatically below you, the yellow and orange walls glowing warm in the late afternoon light, and the sheer scale of it all hits you all at once. It's breathtaking in the truest sense of the word. We came with family, including a young child, and even they were in awe. The viewing area is accessible and easy to navigate, which made it even better. No difficult hiking required -- just drive up, walk a short path, and let nature do the rest. Inspiration Point earns its name completely. This isn't just a scenic overlook -- it's a moment you'll carry with you long after you leave Yellowstone. Absolutely worth the drive. Don't miss it.

Five stars - Grand Teton National Park is stunning…read more I visited during slow season - so there were activities not available yet like the Jenny Lake boat tour. But I still enjoyed myself as I was surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery. I think I stopped at every overlook just to see the mountain range from different angles. My favorite spots were Oxbow Bend and Schwabacher Landing. Both places are great for viewing the sunrise. The wildlife is pretty active in the park; however, I did visit in spring when wildlife is the most active. I saw bears, moose, and bison. It was incredible. If you are into hiking, Grand Teton offers many hiking trails. Taggart Lake trail is one of the most popular ones and it is gorgeous. This is just a short review, there were many other things I enjoyed. Overall, an amazing experience.

This hike is heavily trafficked due to it being such a short hike after you get off the boat. Another way to get there is by walking along Jenny Lake Trail, although this will make it a longer hike, but you won't have to pay the boat fee. I would recommend going early to avoid all the crowds along this trail.

You can do the hike to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point from the Jenny Lake visitor center or take the shuttle boat. Reservations are not required, but there is a fee to ride the boat over. From the docking area, it is about a one mile walk to Inspiration Point. There is some elevation during your hike. But once you arrive, the view is just spectacular. You get a gorgeous view of the whole Jackson Hole Valley. You have the option of going to Hidden Falls or Inspiration Point while on the trail. Hidden Falls is a 100 ft cascading waterfall. The trail leading up to Inspiration Point is a little rocky and narrow. So pay attention so that you don't trip (I tripped and cracked my phone). There are lots of squirrels around that like to beg for food. One climbed up my camelback and sat right next to me. Make sure you keep watch of the time so that you don't miss the boat ride back. The Inspiration Point hike was easily one of my favorite experiences during my weeklong trip to the Grand Teton National Park.

The trail is mostly gravel and well maintained- you can easily hike it but it seems to be mainly used for horseback riding - lots of manure piles to navigate so be aware lol! Unfortunately the park is in a bit of a drought so the pond is pretty dry as of Memorial Day weekend 2023 - but there's still a little water in it. We heard lots of frogs singing and saw TONS of Swallows out hunting for bugs. You can see the tip of the Tetons in the distance as well as other mountains off to the north. You pass underneath the main highway at the beginning of the trail and after your round the first corner, it becomes very peaceful! The trail can be a bit muddy and is VERY buggy so I recommend bug spray as well as bear spray - you'll see bear warning signs everywhere and it's a good idea not to hike it alone. There are several other trails that shoot off from this one and take you to other lakes and other parts of the park. I'd definitely try them out if I had more time! To get to the trailhead from the lodge, walk away from the lodge toward the highway and you'll find it just past the horse corral - very easy to find, especially with the AllTrails map in the app. To hike it I think you'd need to park at the lodge which is fine, even if you're not a guest - they have a lot of general parking.

They went down to take out the sign and will not be allowing anyone to go through the stairs. They said it is too expensive to fix and costs millions of dollars with the rescues, especially with the amount of money they are spending to fix the roads from the flooding. Obviously really sad but Uncle Tom's trail is no more :(

When looking at the Tetons, if you choose the route to the left, much steeper on the way to the lake than the route from the right. Neither is wrong. Beautiful hike, terrain, and views. We happened to hike after recent storms so some parts of the path were puddled with water. Made it fun with either walking through or around. All fun. Relatively easy hike but incredible so don't miss. The water in the lake is so clear and beautiful it makes you want to jump in but you know it's colder than a witches tit!

It's a short loop near Grand Prismatic Spring (only a couple minutes north) and you turn from Grand Loop Road into a narrow road. There are a good amount of geysers on this drive although I only went to a few of them before turning around to get out. I went to the firehole spring, the great fountain geyser, the surprise pool, and the white dome geyser. I wouldn't say that there was anything special about these set of geysers and springs that you wouldn't be able to see elsewhere in the park, but I went on an early Sunday morning so there was absolutely no one which was nice and peaceful.

This mile-long, one way road passes past several geysers and hot springs north of Old Faithful…read more Among the many attractions are Firehole Spring, Surprise Pool, the Great Fountain Geyser, White Dome Geyser, Pink Cone Geyser, Firehole and Hot lakes and Steady Geyser. Many of these sites can be viewed right from your car, although there are parking lots so you can get out, too. Great Fountain Geyser typically erupts within a four-hour window. Not very convenient, though, if you have to sit there that long. However, its eruption can last up to two hours and can send water from 75 feet to over 220 feet. The 12-foot-high cone of the White Cone Geyser is one of the largest within Yellowstone. It's eruptions can be very unpredictable. During my visit, White Cone wasn't showing any action and then a minute later, while driving away, I saw it start to erupt from my rearview mirror. I stopped and got out of my car to take photos from a short distance.

There was a decent amount of parking when we went and clean bathrooms. There were mosquitoes out so wear bug spray. I would recommend bringing water or a water pack and pack bear spray to stay prepared. We saw a moose right before getting to the trail and another one on the trail. Such an incredible experience and beautiful views all around! Highly recommend!
