Coming in, I had the assumption that it was just a breakfast sandwich place. And honestly, it is. I wouldn't say that there's something spectacular about it, but it is good. The bacon, egg, and cheese is just like any other typical breakfast sandwich out there, and it pairs well with the Tabasco or cholula provided. What I really liked was the biscuits and gravy! Although the biscuits were dry, the gravy came in to save the day. Service-wise, it was okay. The staff seemed new and the lady at the register was confused about the Yelp event but was still able to give the offer. She was helpful in recommending items to order. The ambience of the restaurant was okay. It's right in front of a busy street so you hear traffic coming by. In addition, the air vents were really loud. The really disappointing part was the parking situation. It's either you pay who knows what for parking, or you're gonna have to find street parking and walk a bit. EggBred continues to knock it out of the park. I leapt at this YEE experience so I could finally try something other than my go-to Scramble Me Softly, which is nothing short of amazing. Today I got the chorizo and egg sandwich and the experience also included seasoned potatoes (a welcomed surprise)! The sandwich comes with the salsa verde - I opted to get extra because I honestly cannot get enough of it. It's the perfect spicy flavor-bomb to accompany any breakfast item. The chorizo patty was delicious and the egg perfectly cooked with a runny yoke and crispy white edges. *chef's kiss* Once again, I lucked out on parking (which is THE ONLY draw back of this location). I would love to get a sandwich to-go but am never sure how well it would travel back to the Bixby area. Came here around 1:30 pm just 30 minutes before closing. Parking was a little tough...mostly street parking unless I missed another lot nearby. Aside from that, it was very spacious inside with a lot of seating. And it wasn't crowded at all, but it looked like there may have been a lot of online orders. A lot of people were waiting for their food, and the cashier gave me a heads up that the wait would be around 30 minutes, which was true. Thank you for hosting another great Yelp Elite Event! I was excited to try this place but my experience was average. The one good thing was the friendly staff. To start off, parking was TOUGH. There's barely any street parking and it was hard to tell if there was a public parking lot nearby. After going around the block three times, I finally found a spot a block away. The restaurant has an industrial feel which is cool. The downside is the loud fan at the door. It's constantly blowing air and created an overstimulating environment. Lastly, the bacon breakfast sandwich was good but the bread was BURNT. We ordered 3 things from the menu and all of the bread were burnt. Skip the avocado toast. Thank you to all the coordinators for this opportunity to try something new. Maybe it was an off day. Maybe there was a morning rush we missed that had annihilated the kitchen staff. But dude, this place took foreverrrrrr. The people behind the counter were friendly and helpful, but omg the time between ordering and receiving the food felt super slow. When the food hit the table, it looked amazing. The chorizo sandwich looked super promising, but something about the flavors didn't quite hit as expected. The textures were fantastic but I think it was way tangier than anticipated. I'm not sure what happened to my runny egg, but the minute I bit in the yolk was definitely over medium. I had my husband eating with me, so we ordered the breakfast poutine to split. Another not-runny egg, cold popcorn chicken, and lukewarm potatoes. The cheese and gravy (with a heavy sprinkling of black pepper) definitely saved it. My husband liked it more than the sandwich. All the food had a lot of potential and seemed like they'd be so delicious, if only it been hotter. Which I don't think is the fault of the kitchen -- like another review mentioned, there's some major fan action happening in here. Trust me, we are all about air flow and good working conditions for the people in the kitchen, but these fans made the food go from hot and fresh and promising to cold and kinda sad in less than two minutes. I must have been the first Yelper in, because the woman working Monday morning hadn't been told to expect us. No worries, she gave her manager a quick call and sorted it out immediately. Service after ordering was pretty slow. There were only two small orders ahead of mine (one dine in, one online) and it took about 15 minutes to get my food. I had the bacon, egg, and cheese. The jalapeno ketchup added just the right hint of spice to add some depth of flavor without overpowering. There's also a good amount of bacon. Egg Bred is known for the milk buns they use, which were a light and fluffy companion to the rest of the sandwich. I added a side of potatoes, which although seasoned tasted bland. They were fresh out of the fryer and piping hot on the inside & crispy on the outside, though. The space has a cheery industrial vibe going. The fans are very loud, so if you have sensory issues or want somewhere quiet to eat I recommend taking your order to go. Since this is located right on the edge of DTLB (Alamitos & Ocean), I knew parking would be a challenge. I found a spot on 2nd Street (in the neighborhood) a few blocks away. It was a nice walk in light rain. I would guess most of their business is foot traffic from locals that live or work in the area. There were a fair amount of patrons for 830am on a rainy Friday! Inside is very roomy with a lot of tables. Clean and Organized. Service was very friendly and definitely plenty of staff to turn around and serve the food. The sandwiches are made fresh so if you are in a hurry, definitely suggest ordering online ahead of your visit. I wasn't in a hurry, enjoyed my walk and dined in. Food, a breakfast sandwich on a milk bun (per Menu states milk bun, others think it is a Brioche, not sure which) is a bit too sweet. I bet the lunch sandwiches on the milk bun are great. They do offer sandwiches on toasted or grilled bread, and personally I think that would be a better fit for an egg sandwich! I ordered the Bacon, Egg & Cheese Sandwich. I guess I should have read the description before I ordered as it was loaded (thankfully just on the bottom bun half) with Ketchup. First bite was a shocker! I scraped off the ketchup and that improved the experience. Bacon and egg freshly cooked. If I were to return and order the same sandwich, I would ask for it to be prepared on bread/toast and definitely hold the ketchup. Most patrons will taking their orders to go, so I didn't get to check out other sandwiches or what most were ordering. There's a breakfast burrito on their menu, and that would be my first go to. Thank you EggBred and Evan for extending the invite! Really wish I could give this place more stars, but I must have gone on an off day when service wasn't up to par. I went on a Wednesday around 12PM, and I was greeted with a friendly hi from the cashier. Starting off great, right, but it all went south after that. For context, there was no one in line when I went to order and only 2 tables filled with people who already had their food. I initially was going to buy an extra food item, but I changed my mind to just get the Beer Battered Potatoes on the side. The lady at the cashier was passive aggressive with an attitude and told me "so you're not going to get this item anymore then?" when I clearly and politely told her I changed my mind beforehand. Then after this, she pointed at the Yelp Event poster for check in and aggressively stated "did you do this yet? You HAVE to do this." Which I was going to do, but I just wish there wasn't an attitude or bad tone in how she said it. Coming from years of working in food service, prior to my occupation now, I never once treated my customers like this even if it was busy or if the customer was in the wrong. Now for the food, I was able to try the Chorizo Egg and Cheese breakfast sandwich and liked the fresh taste of the avocado cilantro crema inside. I also liked the crisp of the Beer Battered Potatoes. I had the sausage and egg sandwich the yoke was runny as I like it the sausage had good flavor the milk bread is lightly sweet. I don't object to it but I did not find that is was a game changer. Atmosphere it is a very modern design with cement floors and ceilings a lot of hard surfaces . During my visit the noise level was fine but I can see it getting loud. The staff were very nice the service good I waited around 7 min for my order which was good. Price wise it's not $12-$20 which is in range with other restaurants. Now PARKING ther is a bit of confusion on this . I live close by and can walk . On the Yelp page the owner indicates that they have parking in the structure. When I inquired at the restaurant I was told just street parking. I do note that the garage entry now indicates public parking at $3 for 15 min to an hr. Thanks Evan for this opportunity to try one of the ~hot~ breakfast spots in LB! Funny enough I remember seeing this on my TikTok for their breakfast burritos so I was piqued and excited to know I have the opportunity to try them. I went on a rainy Saturday morning and they still had a decent amount of foot traffic in and out the establishment whether for dine in or takeout. I ended up ordering: Sausage egg & cheese per Yelp A drip coffee Bacon egg & cheese Ribeye California burrito The sausage egg and cheese sandwich was pretty amazing. I remember taking that first bite and it being packed with flavor. The soft buttery brioche bun with the sausage, egg, cheese and red pepper chimichurri just all melted together perfectly. The way they assembled it was pretty messy, my photo will show how it looked pretty empty at first glance because everything was kind of just slapped on the bun. The drip coffee I ordered came in a plastic cup no ice, not heated or anything. But I was charged for a cold brew coffee instead and didn't realize until later. I believe the drip coffee is 2.99 and the cold brew is 6.99 so I was upcharged $4 for the coffee I had. The ribeye California burrito I tried didn't live up to my expectations, it tasted pretty bland. Unfortunately I didn't have the salsa to eat it with because my mom finished it but I'm sure it would have added some pizazz to it. The size and price do not make sense to me personally. I wouldn't come back to order it. The overall customer service was appalling. I have very rare experiences of bad customer service and this one still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. My mother and I had never been so we were looking at the menu and I let the cashier know that we needed a minute to look over the menu. Mind you, I was never greeted and welcomed in. Once we decided I also let her know I was apart of the Yelp experience to check in. I gave her my last name 3 times and she mispronounced my last name back to me and then gave me a "dirty look" when I corrected her. After each item I was ordering she would kind of just stare at me with a disgusted face. When I completed my order she walked away to pour the "drip coffee" I was charged as a cold brew for. And I had to rip my own receipt off of the machine. I was given a little device that would light up when my order was ready. While I was waiting for my food she kept calling out a number and it wasn't mine but the same girl kept staring at me as if I wasn't paying attention and I showed her my number and she rolled her eyes at me until the right person grabbed their food. When my food was ready I saw she told someone else to hand me my food. Before I left I was going to buy a burrito to take home for a family member and I remember a different girl working the cash register but was darting eyes back and forth with her coworker ( the original girl helping me) and then back at me. She was equally rude to me. I really did not appreciate how I was treated and how I was feeling while being in the store. It kind of left a grey cloud over the entire experience. Yelpers you were right, bumpin indeed! Not a long line at all when I came In on Sunday around 1115am. But they were swamped with orders in general, seemed like delivery /take out orders in addition to the morning rush of customers. The lady that rang me up seemed stressed but she was nice and she did warn me that it's a 30-40 min wait for food to be ready. I came back after about 30 mins and ordered an orange juice, in which she granted me on the house "for the long wait" that was kind of her! The staff were young, working hard, slightly unorganized. It's a big space with high ceilings that make you feel like there's lots of room inside. A couple of outside tables as well. Parking is probably terrible, luckily I was within walking distance so I just strolled over. Now for the food. Orange juice is definitely not fresh, definitely had a lot of sugar but either way, it was ok. The potatoes were good, hot and fresh, crispy and seasoned. I got the scramble me softly egg sandwich. Initially upon looking at it I was disappointed. But then I pulled it out of the baggy and bit into it, instantly turned that frown upside down. Very tasty and filling. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I wish they had ketchup available for the potatoes. They did have packets of jelly, tapatío, and Tabasco. They were so busy I didn't want to bother them to ask about ketchup or other potential sauces. Pricing seems standard for these days. Some that were eating inside had breakfast burritos and they looked goooood. Def worth the wait and obvi would be less wait I'm sure on a less breakfast-y type of day. We came a bit later than we hoped to but breakfast is good any time of the day. It's cute and cheerful inside with lots of bright yellow deco and chairs. I got the chorizo sandwich and it was delicious. Not chorizo mixed with egg but a patty of chorizo with a separate layer of egg, the most delicious sauce (avocado cilantro crema) and a slice of cheddar on a fluffy egg bun. Strolled in here on a rainy weekend looking forward to a warm breakfast with the family. We ordered the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich along with a burrito. So let's start with the good parts about this place. The food was fresh and the bacon, plentiful. Bread was good and the sauce was the right amount to fill out the taste. What stood out were the fries. Some where between wedge fries with a twist. SUPER tasty and very well balanced. These were the absolute best thing that we tried today. Now maybe the not so great. Not so sure the bread was "Japanese Milk Bread" but more of a brioche, not a huge deal at all. Like I mentioned prior, it was still good. My thoughts on the sandwich was that I found that the sandwich was just nothing special. Tasted like anything that could be made at home and just lacked some flair that made Eggbred something special and someplace I would want to come back to. Now what I found just bad. I would actually have given the place a two, maybe a three if the fries were not so good. The cashier was just like an arrogant child. I wanted a bacon, egg and cheese and when she asked about the order, either she spoke entirely too fast or she said what I heard as Chorizo, egg and cheese sandwich and that was all I could order. I asked, "Is that the only one?" then followed with "Are you sure?" She went to grab her manager who was pleasant enough to get the order in properly. After the ordering as we were sitting there, the cashier was just talking to the manager explaining and naturally putting her spin on it with her little snide smile and heightened drama as if I was the problem. Her manager sat there smiling and agreeing with her and letting her rant where all of us could hear. Parking is as bad as every mentions but the issue with this place in my opinion is not the parking, or even the food, the customer service is just so immature that they seem like some just want to fight or argue. I woke up and it was a non-work day. I woke up later than usual, and I wanted to eat. I had planned to utilize this Yelp sponsored bite today, instead of fitting the joy amidst a busy week, so I was happy that intent and opportunity met. Basically, I rolled out of bed, hungry, and instead of just going to the kitchen and making my usual coffee and eating what was available, I had the option to drive for a special bite. And whether I told the story in an elegant or matter-of-fact way, I am grateful for the afforded convenience that can only be described as wonderful. The space itself is one that I loved to behold. I am not sure if it is a trend, but I have seen several spaces that contrast the natural found in gardens with the steel of factories. When one steps inside, one sees gray pipes running slightly below the roof of the place. Do not imagine pipes running above like unruly zigs and zags, but more like a few pipes to communicate industrial edge. Some lamps also hanged from the roof. They were egg shaped (upside plump oval) and were simple in their design, but were appropriate for the atmosphere. Next to a specific lamp, was a pillar that was partially covered with draping ivy. In another area, there was a section of a wall that was completely covered in a stretched leafy grass patch. The wall was green background for a sign that reminded us to be positive with an egg associated pun: Always look to the sunny side. In other words, always look at a glass as half full. Next to the sunny reminder was a graffiti with other comments meant to induce thought or laughter. One read, I said "You are the good kind of fat." Another read, "rise and grind!" When one is eating alone or waiting for food to be prepared, these kind of reminders might make the time fly by, or at least entertain one for seconds. In terms of the food, I expected something similar to a Bruxie sandwich. If you never had one, it is basically a brioche with egg, and avocado (I have only ever gotten the vegetarian one) but eats clean, I inhale the sandwich and enjoy its well-done simplicity. In contrast this sandwich was not a clean set of bites to enjoy, it was a beefy egg sandwich that tasted, as another Yelper explained it to be, like a breakfast hamburger. The menu described the sandwich as having a paprika spread, a Japanese milk bun, and roasted pepper chimichurri. In essence I felt I was going to eat something complex, and enjoyable because of its high brow design. But really, I did not find it to be a mixture of distinct flavors, I found it to be a standard sandwich. Meaning that I was told I was going to eat a Milk bun, but did not taste the delicacy of Milk bread, I was told I was going to eat a roasted bell pepper spread and paprika spread but I did not taste spiciness or smokiness, in short, the flavors did not rise to make their flavor profile known, they all became one with the sandwich. The potatoes were too hot to eat. when I sat. That was my fault, no one else's. I still haven't fully learned to wait for my food to be at a comfortable degree for enjoyment. I enjoyed their chip like look. They were plump potatoes, in a chip like form. I wish I would have taken a picture of one, they were fluffy and kind of curved, some of them. I liked them, but truly, I did not fall in fondness with them. I also did not try the coffee here. For all their wonderful bites, and style, they only had this steel coffee maker that looked nothing special, like it just made regular coffee. And to further bolster my point, the coffee stations was a tray with cups that looked like ice creams that were fully of Splenda, creamer cups and not much else. The coffee maker and the coffee stations made me feel like the coffee would be standard, of more accurately, unequal to the sponsored fare. I felt like I had no choice but to get coffee at a neighboring spot. When I came back my order was still being build. So there is a long wait to contend with as well. I will go back, if nearby. Their menu seemed extensive and I do want to try some of their other items, but today's experience did not give me their best. But I understand that happens, all places and people cannot be at their best every day, so I am hoping next time I enjoy the offering more. Still grateful for having this place as a Tuesday treat. read more

I had high hopes as I think this is a franchise I've heard a lot about. I've had Eggbread sandwich from an LA location last year & it was good. (It was delivered to work so not sure what the LA location looks like). This location was cute. Parking is tough so be prepared to drive around. The staff was friendly but the order took a long time to be made; close to 20 minutes. There were 6 people working but they all seemed lost & did not seem to have a task assigned to each person. They were all over the place & on top of each other. At one point, the cashier was in the food prep section. I hope she changed her gloves to prepare the food. When the food arrived, I immediately noticed the bread & tortilla were burnt. My husband didn't want to wait any longer so decided to just eat them. Food lacked flavor. My husband had the sausage & it was burnt as well & very dry. My Plain Jane burrito was very plain & I had to add a lot of ketchup to give it some flavor. Cute place but we won't be going back.
