Yetter farms has become somewhat of a newer family tradition. Like most, once you've experienced Yetter farms you will likely return year after year. This is a family owned farm and you can tell the moment that you walk on the property, that they take pride in it!! From the seasons greetings, to the saxophone playing Santa, to every staff member filled with Christmas cheer... It is quite literally impossible to walk around without grinning ear to ear :) The Christmas trees are plentiful and very fairly priced @ 65$ for 3-6 foot option. In addition they offer various wreaths, ornaments, as well as many other holiday gift options! Don't worry there are plenty of photo ops for the family, kids, and or pets as you can see from some of my own family photos! This is the second year we stopped here for a Christmas tree. The past few years many farms are short on trees due to drought. We ventured out of our normal area and found this gem. Although the field was closed for cut your own, they had plenty of precut trees. We found one easily. A young guy helped us with the tree, wrote up our sale, marked it, and handed it over to be baled (and extra $2.) We also picked a beautiful wreath from the many they have on display. Inside is a shop with many little items and the area they are making the wreaths. Everyone is helpful and friendly. And they take credit cards! Most tree farms are cash or check only. When you walk up to the farm the adjective that repetitively comes to mind is "magical". Located in the heart of Mystic, CT near Groton at 94 Yetter Road (right off of Flanders) this family owned and operated farm is truly a wonderful Christmas Tree Farm! I inquired about the history and discovered it was started after their grandfather, John Umrysz, after he returned from World War II. John planted a few trees in the 60's purely out of his love for nature. 10 years later the trees and concept would evolve into a beautiful tree farm. The inside of the shop provides beautifully decorated wreaths all reasonably priced. The shop allows the option to place orders and customize your wreaths, swags, cemetery boxes, and more with the ribbon choice and decor color scheme of your liking. In terms of Christmas trees, the field and the rack have ample options of trees. At this farm, they do the cutting for you (no need to bring saws) and allow the customers to truly enjoy the beauty of the fields. This farm is mostly flat which makes it very easy to navigate through the rows. Once you find a tree, in the same good old fashion manner in which they started in 1974, you wave! 4-wheelers with trailers attached roam up and the down the farm every few minutes to help cut down your tree, answer any questions, and price it for you. The farm offers the "bailing" service which is $2/per tree. This is red or white netting that helps compact the tree, allowing more ease when carrying it through the front door and setting up the tree in the stand. In terms of pricing all trees are $7 or $8/ft (which is incredibly reasonable)! Any 9ft trees or over are $10/ft as most are 15-18 years old! The inside of the shop is where the register is and customers check out. Tip #1: Plan in advance, the farm is cash or check only. However they have an ATM on site. Tip #2: Bring a blanket/sheet to put on top of your car to help avoid any scratches. The farm offers free twine and staff members are there to help assist in tying trees in the cars. Overall, Yetter Road Tree Farm is a 10/10 in quality, overall customer experience, and value! Beautiful farm and wonderful service! Overpriced. We got a tree there last year and it was late in the season. The trees were the 'what was left over' ones. They had the nerve to charge almost $60 for a tree with missing branches. When we were leaving, a lot of people were going in. There was only like 5 crappy trees left. It looked like they were actually going and getting more trees off the property. They could have mentioned that and we would have waited to see what they had instead of being overcharged for a crappy tree. Never again. read more

This is without a doubt the best Christmas tree farm I've ever been to! It was a wonderful experience! The tree farm is in an easily accessible location and a beautiful area. They offer fair pricing and great options. My tree was a white pine at $6 a foot with $2 for baling (wrapping in the netting thing). They have a huge selection of beautiful, well-formed trees of all sizes and varieties. It's really hard to choose which tree because they are all so perfect! The staff is wonderfully helpful and they allow you to roam the acres to find your perfect tree but then when you're ready, they drive over in a four wheeler, cut it down, and take it to the front for you. They have a gift store on site which offers beautiful hand-designed Christmas wreathes from about $20 on up, where you can pick out a pre-designed one or you can design your own and pick it up at a later date. They also sell local honey and some other items (please see my pictures for a better view of the store). It's a fabulous family outing, but definitely take your camera! It is family friendly and dog friendly, although leashes are required for dogs. They only take cash or check so please keep that in mind (but they do have an ATM in the store). You can pick out your tree or buy one from the front area that has already been cut. They have a website with more details or you can call and they will chat with you as well. They have several signs in the store and throughout the property explaining the different type of trees and how to take care of them, but the staff will also explain things to you when they cut down your tree and help you take it to your car, etc. Overall, absolutely a fantastic experience, it was so much fun! We got our beautiful Christmas tree here. All of them are freshly cut, wrapped and put in/on your vehicle. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our helper who cut our tree even gave us some information about the kind of tree we picked and what to look forward to, i.e. the needles are very fragrant. He told us how often we should water it and what would happen if we let the water get too low. The prices are very reasonable. We'll be back next year. read more
