Everybody's gotta make money and they are very accommodating, so I blame the insurance companies for this issue. Doctors used to receive a flat yearly fee when we used to select a PCP, that's history. Also, I like that the waiting room is pretty big and I've never seen it crowded. A plus if it's winter and you don't want to be close to sick people!

This office makes patients call other offices for referral information when it is the responsibility of the Primary Care Doctor's office to get that information for the patient. All the office had to do was call the specialist office for the information they needed. Instead this office makes the patient call the specialist from Dr. Fallorina-Rubio's office, all the while the woman that "handles" the referrals is screaming in the background saying "I can't even" and "Ya'll don't make sense," amongst other pleasant comments. The employees at this office are very rude and unprofessional. Dr. Fallorina-Rubio should think about having some sort of customer service training for their employees because as far as I can tell, from my experience, they are giving the doctor a bad name.

Know how much your copay is going in. COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR INSURANCE PROVIDER before stepping foot in here because again, they will schedule your appointment and wait until you arrive to tell you information is missing and you can't be seen. I was skeptical when they did and didn't want to pay the fee so switched offices. Big mistake! There is no another office that cares as much! In fact during the time I was at another office I had a mystery illness that the other office couldn't solve (and in fact I am positive they didn't even believe what I was saying). After a year and a half of this illness, I decided to switch back because I knew how good the doctors here were. Dr Amick spent hours with me going over everything that had occurred and spent many hours on his own researching possibilities. After a few tests and just 2 or 3 months he diagnosed me and solved the problem! Dr Amick is a fantastic doctor. He cares and also helps educate you on what's going on, never trying to talk over your head. I wanted a concierge service so I could deal with issues quickly as my mother was having mental decline due to vascular dementia. Dr. Maged and the staff have been wonderful over these last 2.5 years. Often my mother would complain of something and - if it was not an urgent issue - I'd leave an email with the MDVIP service. Dr. Maged would follow up with a phone call within 24 hours and either (a) talk things thru with me or (b) schedule an immediate visit for the next day. I have called the office with an urgent need first thing in the morning and the office always found a way to fit us in that day. My mother's mental decline has made for some difficulty with her as a patient - but Dr. Maged and the staff - always took time to listen to her and reassure her. They have been a wonderful support for me in caring for my mother and I would not change a thing. Dr. Maged is retiring and he took careful time and planning to introduce my mom to his replacement Dr. Crowe. We look forward to the same support, service and understanding as a patient at Internal Medicine Associates.
