It's been really nice having more bubble tea places open up around Brentwood, but Yi Fang was was the first. First off I really love their fruit teas. The lemon aiyu jelly, kumquat green tea and Yi Fang fruit tea have to be my favourites. They're light and refreshing and not too sweet. Normally I'm a 30-50% sugar person but here you have to get at least 70% or it's way too sour! These drinks hot are quite good as well and perfect for this cold weather we've been having, planning on trying their hot ginger milk sometime soon. The brown sugar pearls are decent too, but not as good as Xing Fu Tang or the Alley. My biggest complaint about this location is the speed of service... every time we've gone it's been pretty quiet or dead, but our drinks still take forever. I've had Yi Fang several times before and I've always liked their fruit teas. Very refreshing and delicious. We've been wanting to try their Mango Pomelo Sago drink for a few months now and they just recently restocked it. Frankly, it was just okay and pricey at about $8 per cup. Hubby and I were both underwhelmed. Also, service at this location needs improvement as what most reviewers have mentioned already. I was the only one at the store and the girl at the counter didn't even acknowledge me -- had a guy exchange with her plus he answered the phone first (I was there before it rang) before even acknowledging me so I stood there like an idiot for a few minutes. Also, with just one order ahead of me (that same phone order they prioritized over me) with the same mango pomelo sago orders, I don't know why it had to take at least 10 minutes for them to make my 2 drinks. Mango passionfruit tea This was one of their newer drinks that I was excited to try out. This drink was a blend of mango juice, organic mango chunks, passion fruit seeds and tea. The mango juice added sweetness and I loved how the fresh fruit added pops of flavour. I recommend getting this drink unsweetened as the mango juice does add quite a bit of natural sweetness to the drink already. Red bean purple rice coconut milk This drink was a dessert in a cup! The red coconut milk was rich and creamy with the red bean and purple rice adding texture and earthiness. Definitely a bunch of my favourite things in a cup. It depends on where you go for this drink though because the Gilmore location let me customize my drink but the Kingsway location did not. read more

I think my expectations were much too high for YiFang. Word on the street was that this place was known for their fruit teas so I had to give it a try. I got to try the brown sugar tea, passion fruit, and floral honey juice. I was expecting very prominent *fresh* intense *tea* flavour. But the flavour profiles were all very mild and watery. I was extra disappointed in the floral honey juice -- absolutely no floral or tea flavour at all, and it literally just tasted like honey and water. Finally, good bubble tea in the Brentwood area. This new Yifang location just opened, and all I can say is, about time! Usually I'd have to go up to Hastings if I'm craving a BBT fix during work hours. Hopefully this is the beginning of more BBT shops in the area. At the time of this review, black (brown) sugar pearls are available at 3 and 7pm daily. I ordered their signature fruit tea during the grand opening special, and it was just like the other Yifang locations I've been to. First of all they were out of a few items. I asked for the matcha one they said "we don't have matcha today." next choice was mango "we don't have mango today" The rest of their selection didn't really appeal to me. I just went for their brown sugar bubble tea. I was kinda disappointed it just tasted like a milk tea. I was expecting it to taste like the milky cereal flavor I've had at other spots. Yi Fang, welcome to the Brentwood area! This being the very first modern BB-Tea finally arriving within the neighborhood. Just like any Yi Fang, it has the Brown Sugar bubble milk tea. And their special fruit teas. This location though is mainly just a order & pick up due to their lack of seating area with only like 3 little tables. But at the same time, this location has tons of parks surrounded in the area. There is a small little park on the left (when leaving the establishment), and a park down the block across the street. Of all the Bubble Teas, I actually choose Yi Fang over the rest of the AMOUNT of choices we have. I mainly like Yi Fang for their fruit teas, and nothing else usually. Their pineapple bits are what I crave for at the bottom of each cup. And on top of that, you have to ask for a fork to eat with for the cup. This is my bubble tea spot within the area. Customer service is mediocre. Extremely small space, with only about 3 tables- so it's more of a buy/pick-up and leave kind of bubble tea place. They provided a few samples of some popular drinks which was nice, though it'd be nicer if they could provide samples of the special-sounding teas. My friend and I were curious about them but didn't want to end up spending $5+ on a drink that we disliked. Their drinks are good but expensive. The only good bubble tea place near brentwood. My favorite is the black sugar pearl milk tea. If you are looking for something milky, just go for this one. It is not too sweet, unlike CoCo' black sugar milk tea. But if you like some thing more refreshing, just go for the signature fruit tea. I haven't been disappointed in a bubble tea in a while so this came to quite a shock to me when I tried it. M I ordered a Honey Jade Tea with pearls off of UberEats the other day and was pretty excited to try it. However I don't know if it's just the flavour profile itself or the type of tea or honey that was used just didn't quite satisfy my bubble tea craving. The pearls were also smaller than average so it was a bit awkward to consume since I like to chew on them and with the smaller ones it's not the same. Flavour of the pearls themselves were also kind of off in my opinion. For the price it's about the same as every other competitor out there but taste wasn't up to par for me. Perhaps I might try one of their fruit teas next time since it's what they are known for but it won't be anytime soon. read more

There are so many YiFang locations around. It seems like their chair exploded over night! I love brown sugar milk tea, so I'm on a quest to find and try them all. Yi fang's brown sugar milk is good, the pearls are perfect and you can get it in warm or cold. Lately I like the warm version since it's been chilly outside. I don't recommend to get it with their tea as the tea is quite bitter and I'm not a fan of super bitter tea. Their speacialty fruit tea is very good and you can control the sugar levels. On the whole, it's a top pick for me when going for bubble tea. read more

Yi fangs taro milk is not bad but this green tea drink was bitter and felt like there was no sugar when it says 100% sugar.. I'm not sure if that's the taste of the tea or they just forgot the sugar. Prefer fruit tea and brown sugar milk with pearls. read more

When I went, like Kristi mentioned in her review, they were out of some things. I understand that I came post lock down to go, therefore, I have some slack in terms of ingredients as every business is gauging their demand etc., however, as a bubble tea place you need to have some of your basics that make your most popular cultural favorites and flavors. Not having mango, matcha, brown sugar milk tea or mango was very unacceptable. The only reason why I didn't walk out as some of these are my favorite flavors and bubble tea places are a dime a dozen in the city is cause i was with a friend of mine and we were having some social distance time. I didn't want to create a fuss and or scene in front of him, therefore, cooperated. Especially since he was buying my bubble tea I just sucked it up but due to lack of organization I was not impressed. It wasn't like they had just opened up by the time I had gotten there. They had been open for 3 weeks already and if other bubble tea places manage to have their ingredients already not sure what their excuse was. At long last, a major Taiwanese bubble tea chain has opened in North Burnaby to service the Brentwood area. Tasty beverages, if you don't mind the staff yelling at each other in the kitchen. The ordering lineup and waiting area seem to have been overlooked in the floor plan. read more
