A new dessert place added to my treasury... I was not aware of this place until my boyfriend brought me here. We ordered the tiramisu bingsoo and it was super yummy! I was surprised at how big it was and the fact that it also came with a shot of espresso. I also liked that there were cornflakes at the bottom for added texture. Flavour-wise, there was a great balance of sweetness but also bitterness, which I liked. The taiyaki was okay, not much filling, so I probably wouldn't go back for it. The vibe of the place is very cozy with lots of seating and cute lighting. Since it opens late, it could also be a nice café to study at. This place is located within the First Ave. Marketplace (in the same plaza as the T&T). Parking is one of the banes of this shopping center. Even if you manage to find a spot, it is usually extremely narrow and tight. The inside of this dessert shop is well-lite, but a bit on the cool side in terms of temperature. It would be nicer if it is warmer, given that they are a bingsoo establishment. As you eat, you start feeling cold. The restrooms are also filthy with grim. We ordered a taro bingsoo for $17 CAD, and was not impressed. The taro is not fresh taro, but artificial taro flavor injected into the snow. Also, their portion size is small relative to the price. Still is one of my favourite places to get bingsoo. It isn't too sweet and I like the layering of the cornflakes on the bottom, fruit and condensed milk. It still tastes as good as I remember. Although I miss having the mini taiyaki as the topper. As well, prices have gone up and they now offer only one size rather than a single and full size. I would prefer to have the option of different sizes because it can be quite filling. It's definitely a dessert to be shared now with the one size. I've also had their mini taiyaki previously and those are a nice treat. There are a few fillings to choose from such as chocolate, red bean, mochi, and custard. I enjoy getting a mix of fillings because it's hard to tell which one is which, so it's a surprise. I've been here multiple times and the Bingsoo is always delicious. We arrived on a Thursday around 7PM and the seating area was practically full. The in-store decorations are cute. Orders were placed before and after us, yet it only took about 5 mins for all of our desserts to be made which I thought was very fast. We ordered the Oreo cookie, chocolate and Injeolmi (rice cake) bingsoos and each were approximately $14. I think it's unfortunate that there are no longer two options for sizes since I think this size is large for one person but possibly a bit small for two people. First I thought it may be chilly to have shaved ice in autumn but I was wrong. I felt those texture was closer to ice cream than shaved ice. Quickly became one of my favourite bingsu spots! While cat-sitting in the neighbourhood for 3 weeks, I embarrassingly visited this place 3 times. This place has a lot of choices which sets them apart from other bingsu places. Not only do they have bingsu, but they also have waffles and lava toast. I stuck to my go-to of mango bingsu though so I can't comment on the other things. For the bingsu, they layer their toppings so you get a good amount of the flavours throughout. I also really enjoyed the fish pastry (Nutella-filled) and the ice cream on top of the mango one. Each bingsu flavour seems to come with different curated toppings as my bf got a chocolate one that came with brownie bits. Mr. Frosty also does the best "to-go" packaging I've ever seen for a bingsu place. Usually, it's an overfilled cup that you have to take your chances with or a gross styrofoam container but they use cups are similar to a Starbucks Venti cup with a domed lid so you can actually eat it pretty safely while on the go. Unfortunately, they only offer the Single size to-go. That said, the Single size is easily enough for 2 people (especially if you're dining in as it looks even bigger) but if you're really hungry, I'm sure you won't be sorry if you dine in and order the larger size. read more

We ordered their injolmi bingsoo in the single size and this is the first place that mixes the injolmi powder INTO the bingsoo instead of just sprinkling it on the top! It was very soft and melted on impact with the tongue. The mochi had a nice chewy consistency and the red bean was not overbearing although a little bit more would not hurt. It is also topped with a mochi fish taiyaki that was tasty without being too sweet. We also got a side order of 6 mini taiyaki which were wonderfully warm when arriving with a lightly crisp exterior. My favourite of the three choices were the red bean and mochi as the chocolate was a little bit sparse in filling. Overall, I am planning a return trip already since it is not too crowded, had kind service and delicious desserts! read more

If you're looking for something that isn't too heavy. It's a small cafe but very cute inside. Their little mini taiyaki fish are super delicious as well. This is officially my new favourite Bingsoo spot in Vancity! My friends and I were craving some late night dessert and this was the only Bingsoo place opened late at night so we decided to give it a try and I'm so glad we did! The 3 of us got the all fresh mango bingsoo to share and 12 taiyaki to share (mochi, chocolate, custard). The bingsoo came out first on a tray and they gave us 3 tiny bowls for us to share. This bingsoo was soooo refreshing! The mango was so so fresh and sweet and you can tell it was in season! The bingsoo ice was so delicious and milky, they also put mango syrup, condense milk, and corn flakes. When the bingsoo melted, it tasted so great with the syrup and all in all just a refreshing dessert for a hot summer day, the portion was perfect for 3 people to share! The taiyaki was so delicious! My favourite flavours were the custard and chocolate. The custard was nice and sweet but I wish there was more of an egg custard filling. The chocolate one didn't have as much chocolate filling as much as I wanted but it was a nice sweet treat. The mochi one had a nice chewy bite was a bit bland, it did have soybean powder inside to pair it but it's not my cup of tea. I loved that their menu was all in photos so it was very easy to see what was in each dish. The decor inside is so cute and cozy, it is not chaotic for a late night bingsoo spot! Super refreshing and I loved how tasty the layers were with the strawberry syrup and condensed milk. * Chocolate bingsoo small ($10) ~ this was so confusing. By the visual you'd expect it to be super seeet due to the bueno chocolate, cake and cookie however when you get into the ice it's the complete opposite it's not super sweet it seems they use real cocoa powder non-sweetened for the shaved ice. Overall this is good if you don't like things too sweet. * 9/10 ~ I loved it , always so delicious coming here. The chocolate was ok I wish it was sweeter though. * 8/10 ~ everything is shareable, we had 3 things with 4 of us and we struggled finishing the shaved ice. Portion is generous. I like Mr. Frosty. Delicious Bingsoo desserts. Wished that Calgary has bingsoo as well. I can only get it in Vancouver. So ordered the mango bingsoo and the matcha bingsoo. Came with my family and there were four of us. 2 regular size bingsoo was enough for 4 people. Portion quite big. Regular size is $10 and the bigger size is just a couple dollar more. The mango bingsoo was made with the delicious ataulfo mango and best part was that there is mango in the center. On the very top there is a scoop of vanilla ice cream. That is a plus. The shaved ice is made with milk. Loved that The matcha is my favorite out of the two. Strong matcha flavor. We came here to try their injeolmi bingsoo. We tried it at snowy village and passion 8. This one at My Frosty was actually good or better than the one we had at Snowy Village. The shaved ice was not just white shaved ice. It was having some injeolmi flavour and mixing with red beans and red bean paste, some corn flakes, coconut (or something sweet) and cubes of mochi. We ordered a large bingsoo instead of a small one because two of us were sharing. When we stepped into the restaurant around 9pm, it was quite busy having many customers but we were lucky to find a table and a white couch. It was quite comfortable. We ordered the bingsoo and paid at the counter. Then we waited at our table. A server brought us a bowl of injeolmi bingsoo. I saw someone said on the review that there was no water. Indeed I went to three bingsoo restaurants, they would not give out water. You could ask for it or sometimes the restaurant would put a big container of water and let the customers get water by themselves. I think it is fair enough. I would like to come back and try other dishes next time. read more

So, my sister and I bought her recommended order and oh my god, it was delicious! We ordered a pack of 6 mini taiyaki (2 custard, 2 red bean, and 2 mochi). There are actually 4 different flavors which are those listed above and chocolate; however, none of us really like chocolate so we didn't get it. An order of 6 mini taiyakis was $4, and 12 mini taiyakis were $7. I like the red bean flavor the most and my sister liked custard (all were amazing tho!). The peach soda was definitely a new taste. It was so refreshing and didn't make me feel guilty at all (tho I should) because it contains soda. Super yummy! However, my last visit, the peach soda tasted just like sprite, with no hint of peach which I was sorta sad about. Other times, it was all good! The best bingso and mini tayaki in Vancouver so far. However I put minus 1 star because their brick toast was okay. Their bingso is THE BEST, it's milky but not too sweet like other places. My favourite one will be the injolmi (as always) the snow ice is covered by injomi (at other places usually they just use regular snow ice and give injolmi powder), which is really good because you can taste the injolmi every time you scoop the ice. Secondly, favourite will be matcha!! and third mango. The atmosphere is really nice to catch-up with your friends. Tayaki is very fresh. You can just ordered any fillings, they are really good! but my favourite is the custard. A good addition to the Bingsoo scene in Vancouver, My Frosty is located in the plaza with the TNT on 1st Ave so parking wouldn't be too hard to find. They are known for their fish taiyaki that they put on top of their bingsoo (but you can also order a basket of them separately). I shared a mango bingsoo with my cousin and it was plenty for the 2 of us. The mangos were sweet and the bingsoo had a nice sweet milky flavour. As for price, it was on par with other dessert places about $5-7 a person depending what size you order. Something that threw me off was the layer of cornflakes at the bottom of the bowl.. This is the first 5 stars that I give to a shaved ice café in Vancouver because it is definitely the best one I have tried yet! My Frosty has won me over right when I stepped in. The décor is very cute, with lights all over the ceiling and pictures hung all over the left wall. I went during a weekday, so it was also empty. Christmas music was playing and Christmas decorations were up, which made it feel even warmer. My friends and I took forever deciding what to get because everything on the pictures looked so good! But we ended up deciding we had to try the taro shaved ice because we've never seen this flavor at a Korean shaved ice store yet and the mochis because they were just so cute! The taro shaved ice was BOMB! The flavor of their bingsoo's are actually integrated in the ice, unlike most other Korean shaved ice. It really did taste like taro! The hidden condensed milk also added a bit of sweetness which complemented the ice. And the cornflakes at the bottom! Miam! I wish there was more of it because it made the dessert that much better! The taiyaki were amazing too! And did I mention so cute?? They come in mochi, chocolate, and red bean flavors. They come freshly made and the outside was deliciously crispy. Came here for late night dessert, and we got lucky they still have a couple of tables empty. As we ordered and got our table the place is starting to get packed. Lucky us we got there a few minutes early! We ordered injeolmi and mango bingsoo. The shaved ice on the injeolmi had a flavor on it already plus it's so powdery that it really melts right away if it touches your mouth. It does come with a red bean, coconut and mochi. And there's a surprise at the bottom more mochi and some injeolmi flavor. Also loved the mango, shaved ice was milk and the they were generous on the mangoes, as you go through the middle more mangoes and cornflakes at the bottom. It's more expensive than the rest of bingsoo place, but worth coming back. I think I found my favorite place in Vancouver! read more

This is my go to spot in East Van to hangout and grab desserts. My Frosty offers a wide variety of desserts from bingsoo to korean toasts to coffees and sodas. Their selling point is definitely their bingsoo. The ice is really flaky and creamy compared to other shaved ice places. They layer the fruits in the middle so that you won't run out of fruit when you finish the fruit on the top layer. When you get to the bottom, their is a layer of cereal and it tastes so GOOOD with the fruit, melted icecream and sweet milk. When mangos are in season, that is definitely the flavour to get, but unfortunately it was out of season when we went but strawberry is also very fresh and tasty. The taiyaki is a must order as well because it's freshly made to order and is very soft and chewy. Desserts and drinks are reasonably priced and would be great to share with a couple friends.
