The class size is much smaller compare to other TKDs, so the Master is able to spend more time on each student. My oldest son is in club soccer, my middle son enjoys running 5k's, and my youngest son does not like to do what his older brothers do. My youngest son was introduced to YIC Taekwondo because his school mate and sisters were having fun at YIC. My wife and I took our youngest son one summer day to YIC and the rest is history. Let's begin with the family atmosphere The Grand Master Young In Cheon and Master Alan have created. Any time you see either one of them or any of the other Masters or Instructors, you instantly feel as if you are with family. They will make any new student and their family feel welcomed. My family and I had the opportunity to attend the Grand Master's birthday party and it was a blast. It was a potluck with good food and great company. Lets move on to the Taekwondo. Master Alan and all the other Masters & Instructors are incredible. They teach all the students discipline, respect, and they give them a great workout. They all have great patients and they know how to encourage and push the students. Master Alan does not sugar coat his lessons and feedback to the students. I appreciate and respect that tremendously because that is how my youngest son has gained his confidence. We have noticed the change in my son's attitude at home and I credit Master Alan and the rest of the team for that. They really know how to teach students to be respectful to adults. My son has really embraced Taekwondo as a whole. As my son has progressed and earned his different colored belts, he looks forward to the day of the belt test. Master Alan at YIC is so welcoming and patient! I have been to other taekwondo studios and the atmosphere is something that really sets YIC apart. I've been with YIC for over 5 years now, and I believe the training, atmosphere, community, and masters here are some of the best you'll find. The students are all extremely sweet and inclusive, and won't hesitate to encourage you if you're having a tough time. The team elite competition team competes at the national and international levels for both poomsae and sparring, so if you're looking for somewhere to improve your skills, YIC is definitely the way to go. However, we also participate in many local tournaments, so if you're a beginner in taekwondo, this school is a great place to get a feel for it and boast confidence. Master Alan and Master Louise are patient and caring with the beginner students, and hold the upper belts to a high standard to set an example for the lower belts. Both of the masters are extremely talented, and will support every student to the best of their ability. One of my favorite things about YIC is how it feels more like a family than a business.
