A Great Experience for Absolute Beginners…read more As someone with absolutely no experience in martial arts, I was initially very nervous about joining, but my experience has been fantastic! I've taken five fundamental classes so far: 4 MMA classes 1 Jiu-Jitsu class 1 Kickboxing Cardio class Why I Recommend It: Well-Organized Curriculum The curriculum is structured in a way that's perfect for beginners. Each class builds on the basics, making it easy to follow along and feel confident even if you've never stepped foot in a martial arts gym before. Supportive Coaches The coaches are incredibly skilled at teaching newcomers. They break things down clearly and provide personal attention to make sure everyone is comfortable. It's clear that they're passionate about helping people learn, regardless of experience level. Friendly & Welcoming Environment From the coaches to the other students, the gym creates a warm and supportive atmosphere. Everyone is kind and encouraging, which made it easy for me to feel at ease and motivated. Concerns Before Joining & How They Were Addressed: No Experience & Adapting to the New Environment I was nervous about fitting in, but the well-organized curriculum and the coaches' experience with beginners helped me adjust quickly. The environment is friendly, and everyone is willing to help out! Concerns About Smells As someone who's sensitive to smells, I was a little worried about the cleanliness of the gym. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that they clean thoroughly between classes, so there's no need to worry about unpleasant odors. I never thought I be standing up for myself. I owe it all to Sensei Johnson for helping me and guiding me to be tough and helping me reach my goals. I joined Krav Maga so that I wouldn't be afraid, weak, and timid. This is something that gets me through the day. When I walk into the dojo, I am a completely different person. I went on a 11 year hiatus from 2010 to 2021. I never thought I see myself back in this dojo. I never thought I see Sensei Johnson back. I wish I was continuing Krav, but I am back now and I am turning myself around. If you join krav, stick with it. Don't make the same mistake I made.

I cannot say enough about how great this place is. If you are looking to get a great workout,…read morelearn priceless fundamentals for defending yourself, and all around great company, then this is the place to be. The best part of the philosophy of Krav Maga taught here is that it's not "pointless" martial arts. The sensei and instructors really drive a strong message home letting us know that we are here specifically to defend ourselves, not compete for points or a trophy. Class sizes are roughly anywhere from 12-20 students and there is plenty of mat space so you're not constantly bumping into people during drills. Prices are fair and there are plenty of available classes throughout the week. Each class is an hour long, in which we work on conditioning, footwork drills, combative strikes, scenario run-throughs, defense, chokes, and so much more. The sensei and instructors do a great job of mixing it up each class to prevent boredom and offer challenges. If you're on the fence, come try a free class. You won't regret it!

I have been attending the adult classes there since Jan. 2013 after my first couple of classes I fell in love with this sport. I have also had experience in Muay Thai and Karate. Judo will make you feel comfortable in a combat situation, both on your feet and on the ground. Judo includes vast amounts of jujitsu and covers most scenarios where confrontation or competition could take place and is phenomenal for conditioning. What I love about this club is truly the family setting, there is tons of respect and appreciation for all members. Many parents start their kids in one of the classes and after they see the results, they themselves pick up the gi and join the adult class. Judo in general is a very communal sport and this club is all about the community, the kids and the students, not a quick buck for the instructor. I love attending classes here and have recommended it to family and friends, come by and check it out for yourself.
