Mauricio, the head of the crew, was super professional, and I appreciated that his crew kept the work areas clean.

I spoke with James, who promptly requested that I send photographs of the damage. Within thirty minutes, I received a very reasonable estimate. Initially, James informed me that the earliest available appointment was on Friday. However, when I mentioned that my family would be arriving on Wednesday and that I would appreciate completing the repairs beforehand, he went above and beyond. To my pleasant surprise, he was able to accommodate me just two hours later on the same day. It was an added relief that the technician who had previously repaired my tub ten years prior arrived at our doorstep. Miguel performed the work with the same high standards as before. He is very professional, a nice and friendly guy with thorough attention to detail and evident pride in his craftsmanship. He left the workspace neat, and the bathtub now appears to be in excellent condition. The three- to five-year durability of the repair speaks to the quality of ProTub's craftsmanship. Should I require further services such as reglazing or refinishing in the future, ProTub will undoubtedly be my first choice. I sincerely

He stood me up for our appointment. When he did come, he didn't do proper prep. He painted over debris in the tub. It left a thick, spikey finish. He clogged up my bathroom vent even though he ran the exhaust outside. He (without asking) caulked the tub AND painted over the caulk. The surface was unusable. He was radio silent when i complained. Instead of vowing to correct the job or apologizing, he made an appointment for him to see it. Instead it was an appointment to redo it. On that appointment, he sandied SOME of the spikes down and left new ruts and scars which he put more thick paint over. Because you can't touch it for 24 hours, you don't know it's a repeat performance! For three weeks now i'm unpacked to put my bathroom back together because I'm waiting for his reply/ return or a REFUND! Radio silence. They don't care. Nice guys but are they? Is it nice to dominate people with this passive aggressive unprofessional BS? Next steps: Get a refund, report to the BBB, rip off report and It is incredibly frustrating to pay professionals for a service only to end up with a bumpy, dripping mess and radio silence. You can fix a rough bathtub refinishing job yourself by carefully sanding down the imperfections and applying a targeted touch-up kit.Because the company is ignoring you, taking matters into your own hands requires patience, but you can restore a smooth surface. Here is how to correct the drips and bumps step-by-step. Tools & Materials NeededWet/dry sandpaper (400-grit, 600-grit, and 1000-grit)A sanding block (do not use your bare hands, or you will create an uneven surface)Rubbing compound (automotive polishing compound works perfectly)Microfiber clothsBathtub touch-up kit (epoxy or acrylic-based, matching your tub's color)Painter's tape Step-by-Step Fix1. Level the Drips and BumpsDo not try to scratch or peel the bumps off, as this will tear the surrounding finish.Wrap your 400-grit wet/dry sandpaper around a sanding block.Wet the sandpaper and the bumpy area thoroughly with water.Sand gently using a light, circular motion. Keep the area wet. Sand only the raised drip or bump until it feels flush with the surrounding finish.Move to 600-grit, then 1000-grit sandpaper to smooth out any fine scratches left by the coarser paper.2. Clean and AssessWipe away all the sanding dust and slurry with a damp microfiber cloth.Let it dry completely.Feel the surface. If the bump is gone and the original refinishing coat was thick enough, it might look perfectly smooth now. If you accidentally sanded down to the original tub surface (creating a thin spot or a hole in the new coating), you will need to patch it.3. Fill and Touch Up (If Needed)If sanding left a dull spot or exposed the old tub surface:Tape off the immediate area around the fix to protect the rest of the tub.Apply a bathtub touch-up epoxy according to the manufacturer's instructions. Use a high-quality, fine-bristle small brush or the applicator provided. It is better to apply two very thin coats than one thick coat.Let it cure for the exact amount of time specified on the package (usually 24 to 48 hours).4. Buff to a ShineOnce the touch-up is completely cured (or if your initial sanding just left a dull spot):Apply a small amount of rubbing compound to a clean microfiber cloth.Buff the area firmly in circles to bring back the high-gloss shine and seamlessly blend the repaired spot with the rest of the tub.

Thankfully they waived the fee. I trusted that they would do a good job based on their portfolio. They were accurate in their timeline for the completion of the project and the resulting hutch looks fantastic, I have no complaints there. The main reason I am giving this business two stars is because their communication leaves A LOT to be desired. I asked for progress photos as they were working on the piece in their shop. They never sent pictures until I had to follow up and ask for them. They knew ahead of time that they were going to need to deliver my piece urgently because they were going to need all the space in their shop for their next project. Yet, they did not communicate this with me until the very last minute, what were they going to do with my piece if I was unavailable for delivery when they needed it gone? That seemed like poor planning to me. Upon the initial quoting of the piece, I specifically asked them to not only have the main mirror replaced by their third party, but also have the antique locks repaired. I provided them with a key that fit the lock to aid in this process. They returned my piece to me with not only the lock issue not addressed, but also with one of the cabinet doors not fully functional (which is not how it was when they took the piece at the beginning). I had to report this issue after they had already left. It was only then that he recommended I contact his third party locksmith to resolve the issue. His recommended locksmith (Sav-Mor Lock & Key) has been completely unresponsive, and I can't find other locksmiths who specialize in antique locks. I then asked Haer where is the key that I gave them when they picked up the hutch, and it was only THEN that they told me they tried to test the key in one of the locks and a piece of the key broke off and is STILL currently stuck in one of the locks (they also didn't specify which lock they tested either). I am extremely disappointed and frustrated because I clearly specified all my needs before they accepted the project, and now I received an incomplete service. They have also stopped responding to my communications completely, which I find outrageous and irresponsible. I also got the impression that working on my project was a chore for them, as if I didn't pay top dollar for them to give me their best work. Again, in terms of their actual craftsmanship, Jose (who I believe did most of the work) did a great job. However, communication is a huge factor in determining who I award my business to, and based on my experience I wouldn't feel comfortable trusting them with another one of my projects.
