Oves, would you like to explain why our laminate floors were installed directly on our concrete foundation without a moisture barrier? Is this how you install flooring? Or was this just a step you skipped in our home? This is a basic and necessary step in any floor installation. Our floors which should have lasted 15-20 years lasted less than 3 years due to warping, peeling cracking from the lack of a barrier between the foundation and the floors. This was something that was not visible to us so we were unaware at the time of installation. Our flooring was a huge expense for our little family. He made promises he didn't keep, misrepresented critical aspects of the tile renovation project, and left my home in worse condition than before he started. He scheduled me monday today for 2pm then cancelled me on the spot! Wth! I cancelled all my clients this afternoon just to accommodate him and now he cancelled me! Very unprofessional! Dont use them!! He gave me a quote last week and we confirmed monday 2pm. He wanted a deposit zelle $100 i told him im gonna pay incash he said ok he needs $600 On Monday and the rest upon completion. i said yes thats fine. Then i texted him over the weekend that i just saw that his quote was labor only! Not including materials he didnt disclosed this wen we talked over the fone. So i told him I didn't realize the quote did not include materials. I asked about questions of other possible ways to fix my shower floor, he did not reply. This was over the weekend. He was NO response at all ZERO. And then today he told me that I texted him about my inquiry and assumed right away that I did not want the service even though I texted him I will see them on Monday AND WE HAD LOCKED THIS IN. I found the company based on YELP reviews and couldn't be happier. I'd been wanting new floors since I moved in 10 years ago. The house was built in 1938 and had the original hardwood. While in good shape, it was not the look I wanted. I was torn between refinishing it or going with luxury vinyl. After speaking with Oves, I went with the vinyl, which also matched perfectly with my bathroom floor that I changed a couple of years ago. I called Oves on Sunday morning, he came out to give me a quote the same day and the job was done the next Thursday. Danny and Polo came out to do the work and they are incredibly efficient. They came in and went straight to work. I was able to leave some of the heavier pieces of furniture but made sure to do my part, getting as much as I could out of their way. They cleaned as they worked and cleaned when they were done. They even helped me move a few pieces of furniture back into place. They were so warm and friendly and seemed to have a good time working together. There was a minor hiccup with my front door not closing properly (its an old house with odd angles) but Danny came back the same evening to look at it. He ended up coming back a few days later to make sure the job was done right. He was so thoughtful and wanted to make sure I was happy. I was undecided about changing the flooring in my kitchen and Oves was candid in his thoughts. He could have easily told me to change it and make some more money off me but he didn't do that. The company had great reviews except for the single one I should have heeded that reminded me of the costly error I made in hiring this company to refinish cabinets. I went for it thinking it was a reasonable price, and after a incredibly awful job, they never intended to correct the unreal amount of errors I documented and asked to have remedied. During the weeks these issues were unresolved I accommodated Oves's major health crisis, and he had me postpone agreed work times. His last remark after all these images and complaints in writing seeking resolution for the thousands being paid? "But unfortunately some people never satisfied". The face of the drawer does not close flush on the face of the cabinet anymore. On top of this clear unprofessionalism, as I insisted these issues are remedied, he made a false claim I wanted to saturate my cabinet doors with the five coats his painter drowned the doors in. Why would I ask that? The paint's instructions say two coats. None of this makes any sense, but lesson learned. 6/5 EDIT - I posted 10 total photos with some captions with this review, why does only one now show? The rest can be seen in the link above. He is unfortunately posting more falsehoods in response, and he also totally edited his initial reply. So to be clear: NO I didn't have anyone else try to fix the damage (like the misaligned cabinet or them painting walls that have nothing to do with their job). NO they didn't "touch up" anything in the 10 photos I attached to this review or posted in the link , and YES drips, marks, damage, and soaked doors with sloppy textures/finishes are still as they were when he stopped replying about corrections and therefore ended his work. Mr Oves the owner comes to do your estimate. Nice person but the crew he hires to do your work is the issue. They came to refinish my stair end steps and it turned out disastrous. They sanded, stained, and sealed. However, the stain was off and how mess of dirt particles settled when it dried. Now the sealant glaze they applied is peeling off and turning into a mess. I called Oves and messaged but got no reply back. If you want mickey mouse work to just meet your needs he will do the job. Wont answer if they mess up anything.
