Her technique and confidence has improved dramatically from the first lesson through breathing and stroke exercises that Dima puts her through. She has been doing about two sessions weekly and additional practice at our local gym. I highly recommend Coach Dima if you are serious about improving your child's athletic ability in the water. He is a seasoned professional and there is no doubt that he knows what he is doing., More importantly, he communicates effectively yet gently with his students to get maximum performance each session. Some of the instructors & classes available really are amazing, but the building itself is a bio hazard. There was noticeable mold in the women's locker room for months. Then it was closed & "updated" but still has a strong smell of mildew. The rooms where classes are held have a weird smell, & there's almost no air circulation. I've seen many people become overheated to the point of showing signs of heat stroke, & I myself have left mid workout because the heat + no air caused a dizzy spell. When it rains there are buckets everywhere & water leaks. It's been like this for a very long time, there's no excuse.

We had been going to a nearby swim school since my twins were about 2 years old, yet swimming time was stressful for him. At 4 years old, we decided to try a crash course to help him break through that fear. We drove from Miami to Aventura every Saturday for these classes. I still remember Lorena telling me, "Do you want your son to get rid of this fear, or do you want him not to cry?". The first classes were challenging, but little by little, they helped him become a confident and happy boy underwater. Today, my son is unstoppable. He swims by himself, feels confident, and has so much fun that we have already had two birthday pool parties. The peace of mind you get from teaching your kids how to swim is priceless. My twins are older now and so independent in the water. I have even seen them helping two friends when they noticed they were struggling to swim - how amazing is that?
