Right now it's going they a renovation so I'm excited what it'll look like when it's finished. So be prepared because the hall and the d.m.v. will be closed until next year. So no parties and no renewing your license here until next year.. booooo!

There's a great big community meeting room, and the kitchen, as well as smaller meeting rooms all on the upper floor. Downstairs are various services including the department of motor vehicles upcountry office. What a great place to have a party for a wedding or graduation and invite everybody you know. There are beautiful views of the ocean and central valley, including Molokai and the west Maui Mountains. Step out on the covered lanai to get some fresh air and enjoy the views. The vast central space has an open beam ceiling making for great acoustics. This is a real highlight of the community in Pukalani.

The place serves as a police waiting station, where you often see one or two police cars parked. Today's event is a meeting by the planning department to inform the community about plans to develop and expand a local beach park. A three hour window offers a chance to see the plans and provide feedback.

Restrooms were clean. The only downfall is the parking lot which is small, but they have overflow parking across the street at Maui Waena Intermediate School. Though the sign states "Filipino Community Center" it's open to all, lol. I've been here only a handful of times and like it because its close to home and newer than neighboring Kahului Community Center. FACT: This is the new home of the Barrio Fiesta that happens every May, moving from the War Memorial field after many years.

It is a great facility and I believe can host events and such. The staff and organization is pretty willing and open to work with. It is a great community and recreation center. It is interesting to find that it is located within a residential areas of Kahului. I am not from Maui but it is pretty strategic on their part to have the community center located within the Kahului area because there is a high concentration amount of Filipinos in town. It is right across of Maui Waena Intermediate School. There is a decent amount of parking within the area. It is not a very big Filipino Community Center compared to O'ahu's Filipino Community Center. If you are ever in the Maui area, their biggest event is the annual Barrio Fiesta which happens every May. They usually run the event on Friday and Saturday all day long.

They have tables and chairs for your use. Cute little kitchen area where you can cook if you need to or prepare food. They do have a small refrigerator for your use. The facility is older but is in exceptional shape. I did hear from the party host that she had to bring in some rented tables and chairs at her expense as the ones they provide weren't in the best shape. TENNIS COURTS: There are 4 of them but I didn't check it out. TIP: Sunsets here are killer! OVERALL: It was a further drive for me but I'm glad the party was here rather than at the decrepit Eddie Tam venue in Makawao.
