If you are not familiar with the buildings or establishments at this town, you might easily pass this up without knowing what it actually is inside. You will see a large embossed Dahmer imprint on a facade, there, you have found it. I sat outside of here for about a good 5 minutes before figuring out it was a place to eat. The letters and food pictures how far away will try to give you a little hint. Once inside, it's like you stepped into a well-lit club or something, everybody turns around and looked for a few seconds and then goes about their business. The staff here I must say are very very friendly and accommodating. Three quarters towards the back you will find a buffet and salad bar. There aren't your usual salad friends and then on the buffet there was some betta fish, kind of chicken fried looking steaks, pot pie in a square pan, mashed potatoes and gravy, shrimp and a few other Comfort foods that you'll see in their picture. The taste of everything was okay I will leave it at that. The price of the buffet comes shy of $15 if you have tax without a drink. The interior is a definitely no frills type of establishment with the old wooden floors, Mel's Diner type tables and such. It's worth a try but do not expect high expectations. read more

Went to try and eat here. Never was even spoke to. Two employees come out of the back and acted as if we had covid. They had 3 women and a child with appetizers. The girl was putting a Togo order together it looked like. We choose to leave and go down the street. It was very good. read more

Super friendly staff but the place is very old and VERY dirty! My shoes were sticking to the floor and if I didn't see the lovely waitress wiping down tables I would have thought the place had never been cleaned. I did get worried about eating the food and getting sick but I chanced it and all is well. It was decent but won't be going back. read more

My friend and I went here because he liked the name. We were in Big Springs remodeling a house for a friend of a friend. Kerri was our waitress and Robbie was on the grill. The food was so so good. Handmade burgers, not frozen pre-made patties. The french fries were crinkle cut and crispy and oh so good. The service was great! I have a service animal and there was no problem with her being there. (She is very well behaved and most people don't even know I have her with me.) The music was from Kerri's iPod playing the soundtrack from Guardians of the Galaxy. So much great music. Loved it! Thank you Kerri and Robbie for an awesome experience. Yo Mama's is a great place for a burger and fries. They also have good wings. The prices are a tad bit high but the food is worth it. So far I've only had the jalapeño cheeseburger and I've tried the boneless wings. All which were very good. The atmosphere is nice. The AC was on the fritz when we went and it was triple digit heat that day so it was a little muggy in there but not as bad as one would think. I attribute that to the fact that this is a building that is about 100 years old and was built in times where this type of situation was commonplace. Nice digital jukebox pumping music. Got to the restaurant, owner was late. Waited until 4:12 for her to arrive. Waitress was waiting outside for her to open the door. Who does this? Especially in the time of Covid? Ok so I order the street tacos. I had the highest hopes only to be served a cold plate of food. I don't know that I will eat here again. One note to the owner-take care of your business and your staff and the people trying to have a good meal in your establishment. This is a great downtown location with a friendly staff and great food. It's super homey and comfortable inside. The menu is all over the place, which may sound like a bad thing, but they execute everything so well that it becomes a strength! Also, it's nice to have such a diverse restaurant in a town without a ton of options. If you're swinging through Big Spring and are looking for somewhere to take a break, sit down and eat - this is the place. The Mayo Sauce is a fantastic diner; the food, ambience and service were all top-notch. I had their Thursday buffet ($10.99) and iced tea ($1.99). I came on the right day--it was Soul Food Thursday, and they had all the heavy hitters out: fried chicken, mac and cheese, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, hamburger steaks, smothered pork chips, greens, cornbread, and some Tex-Mex offerings (enchiladas, tacos). It was a West Texas dream come true. Everything that I had was fresh and delicious. The servers made sure to top off my tea at regular intervals. I left satisfied. This is a great place. The Butter Churn in Aransas Pass, TX is the best homestyle buffet experience I've had, but this certainly holds its own, especially in the Permian Basin. read more

After reading some reviews, I took a gamble and wanted to try this place out. The food on the menu sounded good. First, it took a little too long for the waitress to come by and grab our drink orders. It wasn't busy, we arrived before the little crowd that came in for the buffet. I wanted to try something off the menu. So I ordered The Mayo sauce burger, sounded delicious! First bite I take I noticed the meat tasted old or warmed up in a microwave. The worst burger I've had to be honest. The fry things were okay at least. A chicken sandwich was also ordered, again it wasn't the best. So with this, I'm pretty sure I decided to try this place on an off day and sadly that was enough to keep me away. I'd rather go to H-E-B and buy my own ingredients to make a similar burger, haven't had any bad quality meat from them. Hopefully whatever the issue was with the meat gets resolved. read more

Came into town to visit family for the Holidays from Dallas. My mother suggested we eat here for lunch one day because she loves the food, but is always skeptical to take me anywhere because of my profession. I am an Executive Chef in the DFW area, and she's worried I will snub my nose at a local yokel eatery. But let me tell you, good food is good food...whether it is served on fine China and linen or on plastic plates from a buffet line. We had the buffet, which was Soul Food day. Damn fine food...fried pork chops, hamburger steak with gravy, pot roast, liver and onions, and kinds of fixings. I left hurting because I ate so much. I want to go back tomorrow for lunch too...lol. This is a small family owned business. The food is all home cooked and I have to say they have their good and bad days! I would prefer eating the buffet. The chicken strips are so hard that they will nearly break your teeth. The best thing I have found was that their mashed potatoes are delicious! About the service. I like to sit down and enjoy the people I'm eating with. You can't do that here from waitresses always asking if your ok. I don't like the fact that one waitress doesn't tend to you it's all of them at the same time. Makes it hard to leave a tip.
