French fries were good once salted. The mashed taters had an oddly firm texture. Flavor was fine, just seemed unnaturally firm. The outside of the building has seen better days, and the interior decor was a chaotic collection of clearance aisle decals and school sports jerseys. The service was friendly and helpful, but with the place being packed, our salads were forgotten until we asked. However, that's the only negative comment for service. Don't sleep on the pork chops! The chicken fried steak was good, but the best food on the table was the pork chop.

Then we overheard the diners behind us complaining about the pancake taste and the fact they they were the size of old-school LP albums and WHO could eat that much bread. Lol. After trying to eat this "food"...we just couldn't, Then waited at the table for 15 minutes for a To-Go box for my chicken fried (because that was the only thing really edible) we watched the servers play on their cell phones, not paying attention to customers. My fiance had to get up, interrupt their conversation and ask for box. So me being petty, when we paid I didn't leave a tip and if the server had asked why, I would've replied, "Because I didn't think you wanted one!" And where is the other "tomboyish" looking server that used to work there? She was funny, hospitable and knew how run that place! The crew we dealt with today... Most of the other customers were 50/50 on ordering from the menu or doing the buffet. First, the buffet plates are heavy and the size of an average household salad plate. That's fine since it's a buffet. The food at the buffet seemed to have been out for a while. Any of the "good" food options were almost empty or totally empty. They refilled them by the time we left. Keep in mind we arrived a bit before noon. We settled on some of the less popular options (like turkey that was suspended in water(?) and chicken spaghetti). Those were fine if not a little cold. It was a good little lunch at the end of the day with the place never got above about 40% capacity. I'd put it about on par with a sparse church potluck. Now why the knocked stars? Why only 2/5? The bill. For two people to eat the buffet, one water, one tea, taxes, and tip it ended up being $40. The tip was just a standard 15%. (There were minimal interactions with the waitstaff.) I understand it's expensive to run a restaurant, but the drinks were very expensive on top of the $14 buffet. We thought the drinks (especially the water) would be included with the buffet. Nope! So now hopefully I'll remember why I don't stop into The Mayo Sauce.

I tried both of my girls' milkshakes. Our server really liquified the heck out them - not what my girls were expecting. Still, the fries were really good. The patties on our burgers were a bit thin, but overall a decent burger.
