I love this place! They are so friendly and warm here. It's all about you and how you are feeling. The teachers are fun and so nice. The other thing I love is how clean and modern this place is. It is clean clean clean. The other hot yoga place I went to smelled and looked dirty. The other nice touch is the cold rag at the end of the practice. Wish there was a way for me to rate this place as infitine amount of stars. They are absolutely the greatest. All of the instructors rock! And I really mean rock! I have been yoga studio "hoping" for a while now, and this is the only one I considered and actually decided to commit to, and I have no regrets. Their unlimited monthly plan pays off in as little as 5 or so classes, making it a deal breaker for me as I am there at least that many times a week:) The facilities are always clean and inviting, and they have awesome locker rooms with showers for those extra hot and sweaty classes. Let me just put it this way if I did not absolutely love and adore this place and the serenity and peace it brings to me after each and every class I would not travel 40miles roundtrip 4-5 a week for them. I would definetely recommend this yoga studio to all beginners and advanced - their class difficulty can accomodate anyone. read more

I Really hate to post this but I feel I should being a fellow yogi. I walked into this studio and felt totally unwelcome.The woman behind the desk acted as if she was doing me a favor by answering any of my questions. I also met one of the managers and she was not welcoming at all. This studio is beautiful but I want to practice my yoga where I feel welcome. Not the case at Yoga by Degree in Wheaton. As yogi's we should practice loving kindness, not felt here. I have been practicing yoga for years and never had to rent a yoga mat, that was funny! I will not be attending classes at Yoga by Degree. read more

I really, really love this place! I love the cleanliness of the lobby, lockerrooms and yoga rooms. I like that there are a variety of classes to take. I used to take Bikram classes and they were just too much. Meaning that the 90 minutes to me was just a bit too long. I like the 60 minute classes here. My first class was YBD ! with Bridget. Oh how I LOVE Bridget! I have taken a class with Loreta also and she is great too. The instructors were very nice and realize that we all have our own pace an abilities. Where in comparision to Bikram which was very "militant like" where I was pushed hard to wheree i actually started to have a siatic nerve issue. The one issue that I have had was the over-crowding in the yoga rooms. Even if I get there 15 minutes early Im usually still cramped in the back on top of the wall. I also have gotten attitude from other yogis when politely asking them if they could move up to accomodate others. I really wish they had a later YBD1 class since I barely miss the 6pm start time each evening as I get out of work at 5:30pm. I have tried the YBD 2 but was a bit intimidated with the others in the class that should be in YBD 15. LOL! Overall this place is still addictive. I feel soooo good when I leave this place! read more

The staff/teachers at this center are not very nice and seem somewhat stuck-up. I had gone for a trial week, and during the session, the teacher made mocking remarks aimed toward one of the men during our crunches (Yoga Sculpt). I have been back a few times since because it is the closest one to where I live, but the experience has not improved. The teachers are not positive and encouraging, and the environment ends up being negative and judgmental. Would not recommend. read more

I LOVE this place! The studio is immaculate and smells great! The instructors are so helpful and approachable. I took advantage of the "free" week and took yoga sculpt and Vinyasa 85 and 95, loved all of them. Great music, and the studio is very soothing, dimly lit and NO TALKING! By far my favorite yoga studio - ever. Spacious, clean, wonderful staff and teachers, lots of classes to choose from, really nice locker rooms with keys and showers, great location. YBD 1, 2, and sculpt have been my favorite classes since starting here 2014. Only class I am not a fan of is Restorative - not quite enough going on for me. Too much meditation -I leave feeling like I did nothing. Every other class I have loved tho! read more

I find this studio expensive and very alike in all of the classes. But some are better than others at making it work. Yoga is suppose to be about love and obedience to yourself and not music that want to make you listen to the words or dance . It's distracting and not necessary. Other than it's not challenging once you reach a certain level it's ok for a first timer to learn how to say down dog. read more

I love that you can try as many different classes as you like with your first week free. As someone who doesn't like to sweat, I never would have tried a 95 degree yoga sculpt course, but the instructor, Grace, was incredibly encouraging and accommodating to beginner yogis. Being able to select your course based on temperature is another great option that I haven't seen elsewhere. The facility is beautiful and immaculately clean, definitely worth a ride to Wheaton to mix up my workout :) read more

I absolutely LOVE Yoga By Degrees! I took advantage of the free week when I was looking for a new place to work out. I immediately bought a package after the first class. I was a little hesistant about turning to different kinds of yoga as my workout, since I've always been more involved in running and thought I might get bored with yoga. Let me tell you, bored was never a thought. Not only do the classes challenge me physically, but mentally as well. I am in sales, so I am constanstly on the road visiting clients and am very busy. I was excited to find YBD and it's convenient for me since it's in my territory for work. To go to Yoga By Degrees is an escape for me to truly focus on me. I love taking Danielle's classes - she has always been very helpful to me as I learn the moves. She's also been very kind to answer questions before and after class. All of the teachers that I have taken class from have all been very helpful in correcting my positioning as well. This helps me get more out of the class. The studio is always spotless and I do get ready for work there a lot in the morning after class. It's always tough when you forget to pack something in your gym bag, but they always seem to have what I have forgetten to pack. I've recommended YBD to my sister in law and many friends as well. Go take a class, you will see for yourself how great the entire experience is as a client! Thank you Yoga By Degrees! I hope you can expand to Chicago as well. This place is so great! The people there are really friendly, non-judgmental, and seem to truly care about everyone who walks through the door. You leave class feeling really relaxed and calm, and your body feels great. They have a locker room so you can change, shower, and freshen up before and after class which is wonderful. And to top it all off, you get your first week free, so there's no pressure to take classes and you can truly see if it's the right fit for you before putting money down. I loved my free week here and now I'm hooked on hot yoga. I did the lowest level heat and the level one classes, but when my friends invite me to do regular yoga, I'm not even interested anymore. The instructors are really kind and let us go at our own pace. The place is clean, feels great, and I love the cool towels with peppermint and lavender at the end of the classes! I tried out the free week at their newest location in Western Springs and so far is impressed not only with the facility but the customer service of all teachers behind the front desk. I have very limited range of motion and can't get to full expression in most poses. I had Hazel on my first visit and was greeted with a bright smile and detailed information on everything I needed to know about the studio. I took her Restorative class and felt leaving grounded, calm, and peaceful. Her use of visual imagery was superb! I needed a lot of modifying and she was there to help every step of the way. I decided to take another class of her's this time Sculpt- and boy, she not only rocked but she checked in periodically to make sure we were still with her. I loved that she showed modifications to tailor my workout and stressed safety with the free weights. It felt as if she was talking to me directly. She really kicked our bottoms but all in good way! First time today at Yoga by Degrees in Wheaton. Not a very Sattvic experiance. When the instructor learned that I and my 2 friends were from out of town told us that our coupons for a free week were not valid. ( Perhaps that should be stated on coupon that you must live within a certain radius ? ) Myself and one of the other yogi's are instructors and I am a studio owner. I understand her concern that she wants to sell classes but her approach ( Samantha) was not pleasant. She made a BIG mistake assuming that I (or they) would not return for other classes. I enjoy going to other studios and classes and return to them often for my own practice and always recommend that my students try other studios as well. Would I purchase a class pack, no, but I do pay the drop in fee everywhere I practice . Yoga By Degrees will NOT be a studio I recommend to my students to try. I prefer to practice in a friendly environment with teachers who are a bit more concerned about teaching yoga than their pocketbooks. read more
